#SecretINvasion #Episode2 #Breakdown
All right, so this episode is giving us some crucial background on how the humans went from being the Skrulls saviors, to being their number one target. And Gravik’s backstory also makes him fall into the category of Sympathetic MCU villain. This episode had lots of reveals and even more questions that I am going to answer for you right now.
We pick up in 1995, the year that Captain marvel takes place-using the same big font from the last episode that was also used in Black widow and captain america: Civil war-which is a cool visual indication that these are all part of the spy thriller section of the MCU. as opposed to the cosmic stories like Guardians and Captain Marvel, which always use a galactic designation to show where we are at.
Now one clever thing about this flashback, is that it's not just a previous one. They take time to focus on the Skrull kids that were in the background of captain marvel-because those kids are now all grown up and they’re inheriting their parents’ mistakes. This seems to be a theme of marvel phase 5 so far, with the younger generation taking over for the original heroes.
Doug: That would have been way better!
Yes, it would have. So after the show recaps all the events we know-check out our entire secret invasion recap for more details by the way-we go to the year 1997. I’m a little disappointed that we werne't introduced to the 90s with a sweet 90s jam, like this [clip].
Now remember, Captain marvel ended with the Skrulls using a tesseract-powered engine to fly higher, further, faster so they could escape the kree, and find a new home.
Doug: Yeah, and Carol was Space Moses, I'm a member.
But here we learn that, I guess, that didn't really work out, because the Skrulls are back on earth after just two years. But that does make sense, because earth is a part they would be safe from the kree actor Carol decimated the kree warships at @the end of captain marvel, the Kree know to leave this planet alone.
Back to the eatser eggs. [1:31] I thought the art on the walls here was an interesting choice. It clearly was here longer than the Skrulls, but this mural is of a face split in two, like the Skrulls wearing two faces in this scene. The show has a recurring theme of faces appearing in the background, like the clock faces in Sonya’s office, and the faces in Fury’s home later in the episode.
Fury is now wearing his signature eye patch-whereas the last time we saw him chronologically, he had taped a kitchen utensil to his eye. It's a neat visual way to show how the Fury from the end of Captain Marvel is evolving into the man we met in Iron Man.
Now I can't be sure, but I think the Skrull he speaks to at the beginning is also Priscilla Fury, his wife we meet at the end of the episode.
Doug: Wait, what?
I know, I’ll explain that a bit later on. So in this opening scene we meet young Gravik, and find out that he is brilliant, an orphan, and withdrawn. It’s interesting because this is the origin story for so many superheroes. hell , even rocket has a similar origin, down to stealing a rocket ship to evade genocide. The origin is also very similar to superman-who escaped a planetary holocaust in a rocket to find refuge on earth.
But the difference between Gravik and orphaned heroes like superman or batman is that Gravik did not have a strong moral influence to raise him
Doug: But Batman-
Batman had alfred.
Doug: Ah, copy that.
So in this scene, Fury makes the Skrulls a deal-he'll find them a home, but they have to pay rent by working for a shield. This explains how shields could have become the preeminent spy agency in the world-and it makes it even more impressive that hydra was able to stay hidden from Skrull operatives. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

Paul from heavy spoilers is a Skrull, watch out Ryan!! He has been fooling all of us too
That Backstreet Boys song didn't come out until 1999
@@mattcliburn Nah, he's just a c*nt.
Did you noteice that in the flashback sequence, they didn't show Captain Marvel?
Who would bring back the Avengers? They have no leaders. It makes senses that the Avengers aren't around. I think you have misread a lot of scenes. The not wearing of the wedding ring has nothing to do with not showing strength and everything to do with hiding he's married. Thereby protecting his wife.
I love how Olivia Colman ate that scene, acting like Umbridge and casually walking and not being caught by Gravik! I also agree that the Rhodey/Nick scene are one of the best written dialogues in the MCU
I also just saw her Kill it in the Hulu series The Bear in a cameo role as Chef Terry.
( coming on the Heels of probably one of the Best episodes of TV I have ever seen and one that I'm predicting will win Emmies and Probably get Jamie Leigh Curtis another letter closer to an EGOT.
She is the bestt😊
I love how other people think the dialog is hokey and could use some depth. Imo it felt more realistic since they weren't doing "spy talk" with tons of metaphors or things btwn the lines.
Olivia Coleman can do no wrong - I love that she's now part of the MCU. All I can see is Queen Elizabeth - what if she was a spy? Lol.
Let me see, 2 major actors ✔️, big moment ✔️, on a big major show✔️ I can go with everybody saying that.
The reveal of Fury having a wife and a home life was so good because we've seen Fury as part of the MCU for so long but know so little about him and we're used to thinking of him as this badass with a heart of stone, this is a welcome side to the character we haven't seen and I'm all for it. Also that's the best looking PM the UK has ever had!
But sleeping with an alien is just kind of weird for Nick Fury’s character.
@@iwouldliketoorderanumber1b79 Agreed, but you never know what kind of kinks a guy secretly has...🤔
@@HappyBirthdayRoboto lol.

I 100% believe that when Sonya sends everyone out and the guy has to pick up his jacket but doesn't succeed at first was completely improvised.
That was kind of hilarious
Accidental or improvised yeah, I thought the same, and if it was unintentional/not in the script, it was genius to leave it in.
Same
Agreed. Because it also showed that he was a bit of a buffoon. Not only could he not get the prisoner to talk, but he couldn't even get his damn jacket without an issue!
When Olivia Colman asked where the secret escape door was, you knew she was the only one getting out alive
Well, technically the Skrull dude got out alive. He just didn't last long after. Nor was he expected to. Dead maaaan walkin
@@dipperdandyexactly what I was going to say more or less
@@dipperdandyI think he killed the other guy trying to kill him. The shootout scene was blurry
"That door was locked!"
"Yes, well now that it isn't what does that tell you about me and doors?"
SUCH a good line with fantastic delivery, I laughed for at least a whole minute.
23:19 I think G'iah is actually feeling guilty here. I think she called the police and gave up the safe house location when Gravik and Brogan were rescuing the guy. Gravik then had the guy they rescued killed cos he thought he it was him that had given up the safe house location (or maybe Gravik already knows G'iah has betrayed them but had the dude killed to see her reaction)
It was definitely a message to her, "fuck around and find out" basically
This episode was dark as hell
Actually the guy is Brogan, Pagon is the second in command for Gravik
@@ccelite3782is this Marvel's darkest project so far? I'll pass on any Thor Dark World jokes, please. Unless we count Daredevil perhaps
@@TheDestroyerX thanks 👍
That scene between Fury & Rhodey Daaaaaaaaayum. It’s this kind of quality that got us WINTER SOLDIER.
This episode was 🔥... The script, the acting, the genius for creating super skrulls without the fantastic four all chefs kiss.
I like the seriousness n build up of tension n paranoia... hopefully the rest of the season keeps building momentum and sticks the landing. I'm hooked.
2 great captivating scenes, first with Fury and Talos and then with Fury and Rhodey! Loving how serious and grounded this show is so far.
I thought Gravik addressing the council was captivating as well.
@@GODsoN_216 you are correct sir, especially when he said “war” Great delivery.
The scene with Talos and Rhodey is just some award-winning acting going on. It was just amazing to finally see Fury and Rhodey on the screen together. This show is taking us in a direction that I am loving that is being set up in the rest of the phase. We already know the other after End Game most of the MCU movies and shows have not been the best at all.
Phase 4 was all new characters and side characters getting introduced or fleshed out before the next phase.
@avonbarksdale91 Yeah let's keep thinking that.....lmfao
Whenever fury talks about his background I thought it was nice hearing more about him. But then I remembered he is a world class spy ,and he most likely just made that up XD.
Gravik is quickly becoming one of my favourite MCU villains thanks to Kingsley Ben-Adir's performance.
I think he has the type of face one would like to slap with a fish 😂
I disagree. The dude needs to open his fucking mouth when he speaks. As a trained actor myself, his lack of diction is inFURYating.
he’s actually so cold with everything he does he’s so cool but so annoying
@@lukeford9803fr😂
He's trending in the right direction as a good villain. Not quite there yet for me, as far as the performance goes.
Nick fury knows this is a personal mission to take Gravik down plus his wife being a skrull was fantastic twist. Sonja torture scene was brutal!
I was blown away. By episode 2 but not just by how good it was but because I swear they be putting it right in our face of what reality is really not as far fetched as some would think
I 100% would not be surprised if similarities were there
I knew since the first trailer that Nick Fury's wife would be in Secret Invasion, however I did not once ever think that Percilla herself would be a Skrull. I'm guessing that one of the reasons Nick Fury seemingly broke his initial promise to the Skrulls was not only for the purpose of boosting SHIELD's status as a spy network, but also for "selfish" purposes like keeping Percilla on Earth with him.
I don’t think he meant to break his promise. Plus if he just wanted her to stay on Earth even after they found a new home, she could have.
I don’t think he knows she’s a skrull
@@khaliq7094 He knows she’s a Skrull because she’s the same that introduced her to Gravik, and everyone was taking new faces during that meeting in the episode’s prologue.
Are we sure she's a skrull? I guess that would be the only way it would make sense that she's remained his wife after all these years & I guess he was dead ass about seeing much better looking skrulls than Thalos. I wonder if he feel in love with her natural form.
i dont think he broke it. Maybe its not to easy to find. May ms. Marvel is still looking for a planet.
23:24 No, Gi'ah is actually upset because she was the one who called the authorities and gave away their safe house location, but Gravik thought it was the other guy so he had him killed. She blames herself for his death.
I think Gravik knows it’s her.
@@tabbyc3970 Oh yes, that to.
I dont think he want kill her, because he loves the fact that his arch enmies daugher is in his armee too much...
Gi'ah had heard that Gravik had her mom killed, so she was upset to see Gravik kill a Skrull in cold blood. The great "Skrull savior" was revealed as willing to kill his own people to get what he wanted.
@@shawnkeating3820 Yes, I know she is upset that Gravik killed his own man, and that Gravik killed her mother, I just think that in this moment what she was most upset about was that Brogan would likely not have been killed if she hadn't called the authorities while Gravik was fighting.
18:10 i think by duplicate he meant that, the skrulls could look like the superheroes and cause mayhem which will cause panic and the general public will see them as terrorists.
I have to say I love the ingenuity Marvel is using for making the Super Skrulls since we don't currently know where the Fantastic Four are in the MCU the Skrulls can't replicate their powers specifically. So, working around the Fantastic Four's abilities by taking similar aliens DNA to get essentially the same product is a really good use of creativities in storytelling.
We saw the couple in the lab man that’s not Reed and sue😂
Very good breakdown. One thing worth noting is that Skrull DNA can be analyzed and identified as we see with the Doctors Dalton. In comic cannon when they mimic another sentient race, they carry unique markers. So when Rhodey broke his back, a genius like Tony would have noticed something was amiss upon medical analysis (J.A.R.V.I.S. certainly would have noticed). It does not mean the Rhodey we see in this show isn't a Skrull but it undercuts the idea that he has been one since Iron Man II. Similarly, Shuri would have analyzed Agent Ross when he was shot and taken to Wakanda and noticed the same thing if he'd been a Skrull then.
You nailed it with your theory of Fury’s sins!! The timeline of Rhodey's change would be hilarious if it coincided with the actor change from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle. So far I am totally digging the ground based MCU, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye and Secret Invasion. It's merging my love of espionage and science in a pretty compelling story line.

The cast and crew are doing a phenomenal job on this show!
The train scene between Talos and Nick reminded me of the opening scene in Pulp Fiction where Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson's character) is talking to Vincent Vega (John Travolta's character).
The way how Samuel L. Jackson does his dialogue scenes is just masterful, whether it be comedic like in Pulp Fiction or serious like in Secret Invasion, he's able to command the scene with his voice and presence alone.
I'm loving this show so far, can't wait to see what happens next.
This episode was really good. That back and forth between Frury and Rhodey was just chef's kiss.
I mean technically Rhodey is an avenger so if he got a chance to suit up at the end of the season to help Fury, I'd be okay with that. It'd also give us a small tease for amor wars. Whenever that may happen) and I've been dying to see more of him since Endgame.
Maybe we'll see Winter soldier and new captain America on SI?
Olivia Colman played an insane murderer in Midsomer Murders and she did a fantastic job. I love watching her play crazy.
I’m still calling it now. Gravic is using the face of Nicks dead son
And I'm telling ya, that Talos villain theory AIN'T looking good right now. I see no evidence at this juncture to support it. But what I do know is that Olivia Colman is a badass! I could watch her describe paint drying and would love every minute of it. She commands every scene she is in. Stellar acting!
Loving this show and it's tone. Really a shame that people are missing out on it by choice.
It's comic book movie/TV show fatigue. Only hardcore fans are tuning in to watch these movies and shows now. The last GOTG movie should have made over a billions dollars. Spider Man: Across The Spider-Verse should be around 800 million dollars, not $600 million because they both were good movies.
These movies and shows are simply not exciting anymore to the general movie going or TV watching fan.
@@BamaScorpio69you do understand, box office ≠critical reviews? Right? 😂
@@BamaScorpio69 Not sure where you're getting your information. Into The Spider Verse was the best animated movie the year it came out, even going to win the Oscar for it, and ended up with $384M, which was considered successful enough to get a sequel. Across the Spider Verse blew that out of the water, having earned $566M so far, and actually just regained the number 1 box office spot in North America on its 4th weekend in theatres. By all accounts it's a massive success. And so is GOTG 3, okay, maybe not MASSIVE for this one, but for sure a success and a sigh of relief from Marvel after Quantumania. Keep in mind that these are post-pandemic releases. Yes, some movies are having massive success, but people are clearly being more selective of what movies they leave the comfort of their homes for. GOTG 3 made more than the first movie, and almost as much as the second one, and it's still holding well for a May release. This has been a super competitive summer for blockbusters, and many movies have been crushed under the pressure, including Pixar's Elementals, The Flash, Transformers, and Fast X to a lesser extent. Your examples of failure are literally the two most successful movies of the summer (so far). There's actually some evidence out there of superhero fatigue, but you've gone ahead and chosen the two best examples that contradict superhero fatigue.
@@KKortez I wasn't presenting information, I was presenting my opinion. And I stand by what I said, the general movie fan isn't excited about seeing comic book movies and shows as they once was and they're several reasons for that.
GOTG 3 was a far better movie than GOTG 2 but has made less money than 2. Across the Spider-Verse should have been able to triple Into The Spider-Verse box office numbers but it hasn't even doubled it yet. $560 million is good but it should have been better.
Whether you want to admit it or not, fatigue regarding the MCU and DC movies is real. This will not bode well for movies like The Marvels, Blue Beetle, and Aquaman.
@@BamaScorpio69well after the ending to wandavision. Thor love and thunder. Multiverse of madness. And quantmania. People are hesitant about going to every mcu movie put out. After several absolute terrible movies it's not ridiculous for people to "wait and see". I hope we'll see Super Skrull in action. And it's interesting he/it to have powers from groot, ice monster, Cull Obsidian and extremis. Maybe sth else
Obviously we will. We've already seen footage of Gravik using his Flora Colossus powers in the trailer.
Two silly things spies would never do: within 5 minutes of the Russians looking for Fury, not only is he shouting in a train car in an American accent, but he is just sitting by the window at the train station where anyone outside the train could see him. Secondly, dumping a body of a Skrull like 30 feet from the road is not a smart idea given how he'd revert back to Skrull form. Even if it was inside their compound, that body will easily be found.
Samuel „Skrull-Loving“ Jackson back at it again ! 🥳🥳🥳

Great episode!
I was annoyed by a continuity error but I may be wrong. When Olivia's character is finally alone with the skrull, she closes the door and puts a bar on a bolted on hook to delay someone entering.
Later, after Gravik and his team blow the door, the door just falls down with NO hook on the door (and no bar to slow their entrance).. Plus they didnt even go after her, so it seemed like a waste to add that to her scene.
Both of these things bothered me also. The interior bar would have prevented the door from falling even if it were burned off it’s hinges!
@@jonathanhadden7157 Exactly! When it fell so easily, it just highlighted the fact that there was no longer a hook or bar! It took me out of the scene a bit seeing that inconsistency.
Y’all divas! He said continuity error instead of a film era smh 🤦🏾♂️
I noticed that too. The door was blown open and no hook was shown
@@radrobd123 Like the Runaway Frost Hound left behind in Thor Dark World, an abandoned Skrull body will call some attention in the future. Disappointed that Gavik could be that sloppy (or was he)?
If Rhodey is a Skrull, best way to check is to attack his legs. He can't walk on his own without the leg supports Tony made for him after his crash in the War Machine armor in CA: Civil War
I don’t know why they just don’t make everybody do a pin prick of blood. Skrull blood isn’t red and as we’ve seen, body parts revert back to their Skrull form after being separated from the Skrull’s body. I wouldn’t talk to ANYONE who I didn’t verify first.
@@courtney-ray they did say that Skrulls can mimic humans down the molecular/DNA level, but you do bring up a good point, if the blood or tissue (taken at a biopsy) is separated from the body, it reverts back to it natural state. That would be a instant tell tale sign! Brilliant 👏
Seems to me we just saw that if they pull a finger off it reverts back to green. I’d imagine the same should be true of any part…hair for instance.
The Talos is the big bad theory might be the worst theory I've ever seen on this channel and that's saying something. The reason Talos looks so hurt in that scene is because he is a true believer that Skrulls can live peacefully with the humans. So, to hear his best friend tell him that's a dream was heartbreaking to him. He's basically sacrificed his life and family believing humans are good and now Fury is telling him he's wrong. It's possible Fury might push him to the bad side but he's not already on the bad side and definitely not the leader of the bad side.
Fury failed because of mistrust. Especially in modern times.
Hell in modern times send them to new Asgard or knowhwere. Boom done
Multi ethnic/species Aliens already own those places, their open, huge, mostly empty landmass that are they’re relatively safe.
All the scrulls would have really had to do was have a marker or bond on them. Aka a set or restriction that has them only use one face and have that face registered as theirs. prity much just don’t copy people’s appearance and use it as yours. Ironically We have actually seen this law being used already in she hulk of all thing with the ice witch scammer. She stole Megan the stallions face and got in trouble for doing it. Hell she gets fully arrested when she copy’s the judge
This is definitely one of those forcite things thou. Can’t really blame him or Clare as especially back in the early 90s-2000s this wasn’t really an option for earth or knowhwere. There were other options but it would have required much less men in black and much more openness in the situation to the general public. Something Nick and Clare do not do as their solos. They played savior when they should have played politics
@@kevind3974 I forgot about New Asgard where there's already another sentient species living peacefully on Earth. Also, why are skrulls waiting for Fury to find them a home when the skrulls are the space exploring race, not the humans? Only Carol Danvers could travel in space for the past 30 years.
Fury must have been working with the skrulls trying to find a new planet so if they failed then didnt the skrulls also fail? Why blame Fury if it was a joint operation?
@@zengamer21 new Asgard isnt just home to 1 space faring species but multiple. Asgardians and any attached race to Nordic history. So the remaining ice giant, witches, valcrys, dragure, maby even an elf or two etc. prity much anyone that was able to get out from asgards ended up landed in Norway as refugees.
Plus you cant forget the gladiators there a multitude of species not all of which have parings yet is still a couple thousand people easy. For instance Korg, snipps, krox (the two headed orge) plus a bunch of near humans in sarcarians (look human but are not human) etc.
Now New Asgard ant the biggest population size, my guess its around half a mil if not a tad bit lower. Yet they are a powerhouse of a city state and one of the strongest places on earth even when they are so scattered.
For the payment in do part i dont think their mad about the planet not being found. I think their mad that nothing has changed and theve yet to be payed in anyway. Now if they were just looking for a new home i would agree with you and find them blaming fury just a projection of their own failings but they worked for him. They worked for him in a vital job to world security, a world they by his own admission were never allowed to coexist in because of fear of war. A possibility that is just that. A possibility. Fury’s distrust of his own kind
Fury is not a politician he takes action and wants fast results that give concrete findings. He is a master spy after all, not a city builder
Problem is the scrawls just wanted anything, they wanted a home, security came second. Hell even just basic integration or reservation would have worked. It would have taken years but i can defintly see scrawls intergrating into humanity really easy. The biggest thing for them besides expected racism would have been rules on shifting which new Asgard has shown can be made and fallowed in standard law. Plus they would have given earth a mass effect event with their tech and knowledge
New Asgard is a reservation for example. Thats how it became a city state, has its own government and is only partially tied to norway even thou their land is fully owned by Norway. Their on freely given leased land and are thus fully allowed to make their own rules and decisions. Prity much their a significantly more powerful version of the native tribes in america and Australia that also just so happen to have the best standing space force on earth
Their were multiple possibility’s that could have worked out flawlessly, but like i mentioned before fury and Carla are not that type of leader so it was most likely doomed from the get go
“Even when I’m out, I’m in” - best moment in MCU since “I am Ironman”
Like "Even dead, I'm the hero"
I really hope Talos isn't the villain. I've been reading this as a story about the tension between empathetic leadership, which can feel very slow (30 yrs, heh), and violent leadership that while morally repugnant often works faster (until it backfires). That's how I see Talos vs. Gravik.
Interesting episode. Excited where they go next. Fun Fact: The Skrull Woman / Wife of Fury is played by Charlayne Woodard who also appeared in Glass as the mother of Mr. Glass, Sam Jacksons character in that movie.
If Talos "put out the call" post snap but pre blip, does that mean there are another million skrulls that blipped back into existence and remain scattered across the galaxy?
Also, if skrulls took the place of blipped people, it would be hella awkward when they returned...
@dadgallant869Does a picture not count? Or do they actually have to see the physical person ?
He probably "put out the call" between the 90's and the preset

I'm LOVING Secret Invasion so far! Kingsley Ben-Adir is awesome and I loved the commentary between Sam Jackson and Don Cheadle!
During that scene I thought to myself man I missed seeing Cheadle on my tv😂
Quick tip, watch the episodes with subtitles, that way it doesn't matter if someone has an unique accent of it's an alien name, you will know exactly what they said.
Scooter mcgavin is a skull which is just awesome he also voiced jor- El ,and superman in superman: TAS ,batman beyond.
Fury knows how to use skrull best way possible 😂🤣🤣
Easter Egg?: Notice that on the train, Talos disguised himself as a woman who sported the same hairdo as Kim Novak's character, Madeleine Elster, from Vertigo. A movie about a man who becomes obsessed with a woman who looks identical to a woman he loved.
So what are you thinking? That a Skrull is impersonating Fury's wife and he doesn't know it? That seems odd, considering we were introduced to the sam Skrull in the scene from 1997.
Spoiler alert: in Vertigo, the woman he loved who died and the woman he became obsessed with after were the same woman. Maybe that has a deeper meaning here
Why no mention about the line that said that dogs are better than humans... Thought Doug would love that quot
The train Nick’s conversation takes place on is the Russian Sapsan, which is a high speed train based on the German company Siemens A.G.’s Velaro high speed train, but modified for the Russian railways.
I'm really loving this show! The cast, The acting, the tone everything.
You forgot a major detail. As the Skrulls are walking into the butcher shop, you see Gravik's "stretched" arm reach for the little bell above the door as they enter. Like over stretched, meaning that he might be a Superskrull, like it is teased in one of the early trailers.
I noticed that but thought I was just trippin...
What I find amazing is that the scrolls change appearances along with a complete wardrobe change (like in episode 1) lol
No comment about how they just leave a Skrull body out in the woods for anyone to find? They didn’t even bury him.
We didn't actually see him die. The gunshot was offscreen. I suspect he didn't die
That meat locker scene might be the most brutal, gruesome action scene in the MCU. Maybe I'm forgetting one, but I can't think of one more violent.
I'm wondering if Fury and his wife raised Gravik as their own son until he got pissed and ran off to take over the world...
They really needed that Brixton scene in episode 1, because it at least gives the "why" for the story. That being said, it's still dumb that Carol Danvers and Rhodey both know that Thanos farm planet exists and it would have been perfect for the Skrulls, but they just don't tell the Skrulls about it.
Carol, I'll agree did them dirty by not offering up Thanos' retirement planet as a option, since she she'd be the other person with basically all the knowledge of the whole situation with the Skrulls. Rhodes? He learned of the Skrulls' existence around Iron Man 2...but I don't think he ever truly believed there was more than a small number of scouts on planet until Fury clued him in that the invasion the US government feared was possible was happening. And he didn't known their backstory or Fury's deal with the Skrulls, so he'd ve reliant on Carol for the skinny.
@@generalilbis yeah, it's on Carol...and really, it's on Fury because all this happens because he never brought anyone else into the loop in all those years from between Captain Marvel and the Snap.
War Machine is definitely a Skrull because in the pub screen Rhody calls Fury "Nick" and humans don't call him "Nick."
Right! Even his mother called him "Fury."
I think it could have also been Rhodey talking to the man and signifying that Furt wasn’t the man and the myth he used to be. Fury in a way is Nick’s super hero identity and by calling him Nick he is stripping him if that. Or he’s a Skrull.
Fury def knows he's a skrull.. he knows skrulls
My only 'huh" moment with this last episode was how easily Nick got away from Rhody's men when he was being fired. One broken arm and then he just walks away. I suppose Rhodes was just letting him go, but it did strike me as a little strange.
I love how you give a glowing review of the restaurant scene. It’s also my favorite performance that any actor has done in a marvel project. There is so much realism to the scene and each characters motivations. Fury trying to appeal but also manipulate their shared heritage cuts deep but roadies response is just flawless. You root for both characters motivations and convictions. Just incredible writing and delivery. I am so curious who wrote this scene. This is why we need good wellpaid writers in Hollywood
We were so excited when we saw the frost beast on the screen. Love that loose end & hoped he was still running around out there somewhere. Also made me sad & miss Lockjaw while simultaneously being happy we have Cosmo. Doug gets it. Also loved your line about the frost beast "who is nothing like the invisible woman" lol! We love your channel brother, thanks for all you do!
After that scene between Rhodey and Nick Fury I would love to see them in Armor Wars. I think Ali Salim should direct that. They should as well bring in Frank Castle.
19:05 You had me there for a second. I was typing furiously to say we’re wrong.
Love the videos. Definitely my favorite channel for recaps and breakdowns. One suggestion though. Your background movie displays are awesome but maybe it’s time to upgrade your selection of videos. I love all of them but maybe a new selection would generate more clients other than the balding sock that never rents anything lol
Keep up the great content💯
So the only way I can think that the Skrulls got all the leftover pieces from Krull Obsidian, Groot, etc is because they’re infiltrating Damage Control. Damage Control secretly building up from the mess left behind?
Anyone else find it funny when Fury said that there isn't any room for another species on Earth? If memory serves, the remaining Asgardians made their new home in Norway. But I guess it isn't the same, since there a lot more Skrull refugees than Asgardian
well, Asgardians and humasn weren't completely different from each other, unlike the skrulls who you can identify as a different species. Humans would have a problem with that
@@Joseph-fr8uo I can see how humans would be more sympathetic towards Thor's people than aliens they know nothing about and who have been kept secret by the government
"I know Good Looking Skrulls and You aren't one of them."
Makes Way more sense now.
Rhodes is a Skrull for sure
Christopher Mcdonald as Tucker Carlson is better casting than Tucker Carlson as Tucker Carlson
This guy and his dog is just brilliant ! I love watching these reviews. Keep em coming !
Prince's song Raspberry Beret has lyrics that say "I put her on the back of my bike and-a we went riding down by old man Johnson's farm." Made me immediately think of the song when Fury said that! :D
Two episodes in a row the ending had me with my mouth open wide. Love this show so far. Too bad it’s only six episodes
I know you did the bit earlier in the video, but when explaining how the listed entities give an approximation of the fantastic four's powers, you could've said that obviously the frost beast would grant the powers of "your mom"
OC is definitely a terrifying character. Characters who always smile are the most mad. They know they have all the power. They have every contingency planned.
I think G'iah is working with Falsworth. She was upset a Skrull had to die, just like Talos was in episode 1. But she needed him out of the way to deflect suspicion from herself since she was the one who called the cops about the safehouse which was then attributed to Brogan. It explains how Sonya knew to ask about the escape hatch. G'iah had already told her that Gravik would be on the way. Presumably she also wanted Brogan killed so he didn't mention what he told and to whom. G'iah would've had to know that Sonya would torture Brogan but not kill him otherwise her calling the cops about the safe house before knowing if Brogan came out alive so he could be blamed would've been a huge risk. If Brogan didn't come out the new guy may have mentioned that G'iah stepped away from the car and she'd be blamed. I may be reaching a little but in my brain it makes sense.
I think the line about “their friends” is because Nick Fury doesn’t know that skulls can’t replicate powers. Maybe
And how was Fury supposed to know the evil Skrulls didn’t have the capabilities to replicate powers yet?
All that is needed to frame an Avenger is having someone seen looking exactly like them at the scene of a terrorist attack.
Whether or not (even apparently) shown using their powers. That's how the US was blamed for the Moscow attack-- simply having Fury and agent Mariah Hill on scene (not showing them bringing knapsacks or triggering anything).
Fun fact, I worked on Secret Invasion and each and every clock in Olivia's house has an MCU motif, and a couple extra personal touches our team added. Sadly cameras didn't pick up on them but I love that I know that they're there 😂 look out for them in later episodes. As for the rest... 🤐🤐🤐
Ryan, you never cease to amaze me!!! You’re enthusiasm in this one mirrored my own as I watched the show!!!
Why does Gravik remind me of Jason Todd A.k.a. red Hood.
Truuuuuuuuu!!!! I thought the exact samething!!
Red Hood!, Red Hood!, Red Hood!
Great breakdown as always Ryan you never disappoint keep up the great work 👍🏽.
BRAVOOOO👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This video was so enlightening and entertaining. 🙌🏾
I love that Doug is a puppy in the high five clip
I hope we see some agents of shield next week!!
I thought this episode was a modern marvel television masterpiece at least according to Disney plus standards suffice it to say I think this is my favorite episode of marvel TV on Disney plus.
Charlayne Woodard (Priscilla Fury) played the mother to Samuel L. Jackson’s Elijah Price in Unbreakable. Loved seeing her again!!
THANKS for this!!!!
Not sure if I can trust any of this. Heavy Spoilers said you were a Skrull… but Heavy Spoilers said he was a Skrull also. Damn it, everybody’s a Skrull! Can’t trust anyone!! Somebody get the strap. Wait, never mind, you could be a Skrull!!!
This One Got Me Thinking Rhodes Is A Skrull 😬 I’m So Paranoid Now 😅
23:12 YOOOO Doug with the dark humor "That's nice, i thought they shot him." 😂😂😂😂😂
Also after watching this episode I am liking your theory more and more about Talos pulling the strings. He invited all those Skrulls to Earth when the blip happened.
Wait so that wasn't a version of extremis used as torture?
I don't know if i missed it being mentioned 😂
No. Heavy Spoilers had the theory that it was Kree blood, since the liquid was blue. Kree blood has regenerative properties. HS theorized that, because Skrulls are unstable forms, that it had a different effect on them.
@@ColorMeConfused29 oh yeah that is a cool theory
I can’t with the your mom every video I see still make me laugh 😂 lol 😂
Oh man that dialogue between Rhodey and Fury was so good I had to rewind it back. I never even realized that this was their first time ever on screen talking to one another.
Confused why isn’t war machine in the show if they got the actor?
Because he can put on the suit whenever he wants and is since a while I a high politic orientated position, all said in the episode 😂 meaning no need right now to carpet bomb things by himself, but when the times right he can do it
Maybe listen to the dialogue more and you'll find out.
My prediction before the series even began is that rhodey is a skrull. This episode made that feeling even stronger.
Rhodey called Fury "Nick" during their conversation, which was suspect. Fury previously said that everyone calls him "Fury", even his mom. I was also surprised last week when Fury said "Maria" after she got shot. He always referred to her as "Hill" whether he was talking to her or about her.
Great analysis 🎉
Another great video episode 2 was great 👍🏾
My dark theory is that Rhoadie died in Civil War and has been replaced by a Skrull ever since
Rhodey didn't get snapped and was alive during the 5 blip years. Then he went back in time in a quantum tunnel. I think even a skilled Skrull would be hard-pressed to maintain their shapeshift form when affected by Pym particles and traveling in and out of quantum space.
Considering Tony had Jarvis hack the worlds nukes during age of ultron I have a hard time he doesn’t have a protocol to stop governments from doing this by disabling all the nukes with his AI in case anything like the Skrull plan ever came to be
I think fury’s eye can see who’s a skrull. Like why’s he exposing his eye all the time and he got the scratch from the flurkin who’s like a portal throat basically lol
8:56 Excellent use of Ptolemy Grey 🤣🤣🤣
Who else is a Skrull?
You!!!
Me 👋🏼
