    #SecretInvasion #PlotHoles #Marvel
I’m going to explain the plot holes in the MCU’s secret invasion. Sure the show didn’t turn out as well as we thought-as we’ve covered extensively here on the channel.NBut the worst MCU show is still better than most shows-and this series is still connected to the greater MCU.
So we took your questions on our community page and my twitter, and I am going to explain the unexplainable and answer all the plot holes in the MCU’s secret Invasion. We got questions about Rhodey, Hydra, Gravik-and how the hell Giah was able to get Carol’s powers. And we’re going to answer all of your questions right now.
    Doug: Good luck.
We got this. We got a lot of questions about skrull anatomy, such as: “In Captain Marvel, Carol says Skrulls can replicate an organism down to their DNA, which is why taking a blood sample isn’t an effective way to determine if someone is a skrull. However, this clearly doesn’t hold up in Secret Invasion, since as soon as the biological material leaves the main body of the skrull (like splattered blood or a severed finger) it immediate ly reverts to skrull form, so a blood test absolutely would have worked since the blood would revert to skrull blood as soon as it left the skrull.”
G;ad you asked, and we got this one a lot. Remember, we also saw in Captain marvel that when skrulls die, their bodies revert to their skrull form. And this stays consistent in secret invasion. When Talos is shoot, he involuntarily reverts back to his original form as he’s dying. And the fingers that Falsworth severed were dead tissue. But notice that it is still covered with the original red blood form when she was shivering it. But there’s purple blood at the base.
This is because the red blood was spilled with the finger attached-when it was alive-and the purple blood came out of the finger after it was severed-or dead. And when Sonya shoots this man [clip]. The blood splatter is purple, because the skrull was killed instantly. Hence, purple blood.
Marl 27 asks, “When the real Rhodey and others are rescued, why do they seem unaffected walking in the irradiated area?”
And we see the humans beginning to leave the area, but before there would have been time for the radiation to take effect.
Doug: That’s a good explanation, thank you very much.
You’re welcome, high five. [high five]. And by the way everyone, if you like what we do here, and you want to support our channel, check out our brand new merch store, where we are selling Doug as captain america parody tee shirts, mugs and stickers. The link is below, and you can click our merch shelf under the video. This is the best way you can directly support our channel and we appreciate it so very much.
Doug: And they don;t pay me anything.
Shut up doug. Awes Tex asks, “When Fury nearly blew Gravik’s head off, he just stood there like it didn’t affect him while his entire skull healed back. But in the finale it seemed like it really hurt everyone to get punched or hit with metal beams.”
Well first of all, maybe the gunshot did hurt Gravity but he was just thinking, “don;t show it, this will look so badass if you just don’t show it.” But as for the finale fight, it’s two super skrulls hitting each other with this stuff. Gia gets the crap kicked out of her at first, and really feels every hit-because she’s being hit with the strength of a Hulk. I would rather get shot than take a shot from the Hulk. Also in the fight, Gravik shrugs off a stab wound to the chest pretty easily.
It;s actually pretty clever how Giah stabs him in the middle of the chest, because that’s one area of his body that didn;t transform into impervious skin.
Tatted Up Luv asos, “The skrull home-base was located in an extremely irradiated environment and they had human prisoners there with no protection. Some of them for very extended periods of time. The long term prisoners should look like melting flesh monsters with glow in the dark nite-lite bones.”
here Emilia Clarke grows an ice arm, and she looks at it, vaguely surprised.

I kind of don't like the idea that a machine using superhero DNA can just give anyone the abilities of any hero. As presented with no limit (how many skills and how many skills get) just using a machine and no other factors? And why didn't other scrolls come up with this, after all, Earth isn't the only planet with people with special abilities that are worth "absorbing"? So are there other "super scrolls" out there, as if only one has the idea to try that if your species has those abilities.

Yep. And to me the crazy thing is that ONLY when Ritson names any alien an enemy is when THE SECRET INVASION REALLY BEGINS. Those flash of people killing anyone who they supposed ( wanted ?) to be a Skrull should be the exact state of paranoia that led main narrative point of the show. Tension of having to guess or defend yourself from a shapeshifiting alien that was the main plot point of the comics was just poorly done montage at the end of the series . Ridicullous.

THE problem w/ how they went about the Skrulls getting powers is that it was TOO easy. The 'fact' anyone can be ANY superhero w/ a vial of DNA completely wipes out anything special about any of the superheroes. Quoting the Incredibles, "If everyone is special then no one is". They even double downed and wanted us to believe that all the DNA is in a small vial, no need to separate it, no need to analyze it, just put it in the slot that says 'insert here' and voila!

"completely wipes out anything special about any of the superheroes" YES, the superheroes AREN'T special, ALL of them are right place at the right time. What made them special was who they were as a person and how they think.
This isn't even the first time, you can see this as far back as The Incredible Hulk with Blonski, nothing made Hulk special except just being the right person at the right time.
We don't know what the Harvest physically exists either, we don't know HOW the DNA is contained in the vial, but I would think that a Comic Book TV show isn't going to go down into the nitty-gritty semantics of how a machine works in the way it does. We're not getting deep dive schematics of how the SHIELD helicarrier functions, or how Spider-Man's webfluids can stick to building and fling around a grown man but somehow not solidify in the webshooters or how it naturally occurs in their body if you're THAT spiderman

He trusted Steve Rogers & Black Widow to do the right thing, but he didn't trust TS to do the right thing, that's why he wasn't at all surprised by the 'reveal' and was upset when he was 'fired' because this was a Skrull he trusted and he realised that this Skrull had turned.
I wonder if this Skrull was related to Fury's wife and that he realised that his staunchest allies were now against him hence why he was so upset after that exchange.

That's literally what superheroes do for a living buddy, they save the earth and the people on it. I'm not a writer but I feel there could have been a better way to explain why the heros aren't helping. Fury wouldn't and didn't say that during the battle of new York and that was also an alien invasion, the only difference is the giant space worms and they brought their own guns and bomb from the get go.

Screencrush is at a point where it wants its cake and eat it too. They bash a show for not making a lot of sense, then come up with "content" to tell you why it all makes sense.
    Gaslighting at its worst.
For instance, iodine pills are not going to keep humans from getting radiation poisoning. It /may/ help them from developing complications by keeping the radioactive particles from interacting with the thyroid gland. But being too close to an exposed reactor/very radioactive facility would mean nothing to your thyroid when your flesh is literally turning red and burning up from rad poisoning.
Bash Hollywood for being all same-y and about chasing trends and caring only about the bottom line. And then do the same themselves.

"You don't know they didn't have any protection, you're just assuming that." And you're just assuming they did. There's no obvious visual clue that the human captives are protected from radiation in any way. I think that deserves an explanation of some sort in the show given they made a very clear point about skrulls being unaffected by radiation (which itself a gloss-over non-explanation--like, how are they immune to radiation?).
Your theory on why they kept them alive may seem to explain why the captives do not appear to be affected by the surrounding radiation, but it doesn't actually provide a provable explanation. You assume they're keeping them alive for some reason, therefore it's in their interest to keep them radiation-free. But given how little they care about humanity and humans, do they really care if the humans are healthy versus a cancerous mess?
As a bonus question: given some of these people have been captives for years, how are they not dead, or at least horrifically atrophied? Do they take their captives out for regular walks like a pet? lol

I am surprised I haven’t seen this mentioned. I thought the reason fury didn’t want to bring in the avengers wasn’t bc he didn’t want them to find out about the harvest as stated in thr video but he didn’t want the skrulls to have access to the avengers and possibly access to their blood. Yes they could shape shift into captain America or captain marvel but they wouldn’t have access to their powers which is ultimately what they wanted, hence why fury didn’t want to call them in, and possibly lead to a fight and the skrulls ability to still their dna

The biggest plot hole for me is that if there are a million Skrulls on Earth, and they revert to Skrull form when they die, then why have no Skrulls (in human form) died from natural causes/accidents/whatever, and not exposed them being on Earth? E.G. Skrull in human form has a car crash and dies, reverts to Skrull form, Paramedics arrive, see a Skrull.

  • @dihboas
    @dihboas Před 9 měsíci +1

Also we could argue Fury ordered the harvest because he wanted the DNA of whoever was there despite of their habilities, he was probably like: "go and colect all of them", which means that although they have T'Challa's dna, that is the only thing they have: DNA, with no powers or special habilities attached to it, since Black Panther's powers are bestowed upon them from an entity and that might be an explation for other heroes in that narrative as well.
The harvest was to collect DNA, not powers per se.
