    #ReyTrilogy #StarWars #grogu
    We’re getting a jedi origins film from Logan director James Mangold. A culmination film for the Mandaloarian and its adjacent shows like Ahsoka, directed by the one and only Dave Filoni. And we’re getting a brand new trilogy following Rey Nobody, I mean Palpatine, I mean Skywalker. Following her journey of rebuilding the Jedi order. And we think a certain fan favorite character may be tagging along for the ride. [clip, Grogu]
    A little later in the video we’re going to talk about an army of aliens from another galaxy that I think could be the villains of this new trilogy-and bring together the Mandalorians and the Jedi to save the galaxy. But first, let’s talk about Grogu.
    The Grogu character is without a doubt the most beloved creation this new era of Star Wars has had to offer. He’s become a bit of a cultural phenomenon, known to most as “Baby Yoda.”
    We think Grogu is the future of this franchise and will be around for a long time. [clip, Obi Wan “a long time”]
    With his species having a lifespan of nearly a thousand years, we could see Grogu’s adventures span over centuries of Star Wars stories. He was born in the year 41 BBY, Before the Battle of Yavin. That’s the big battle we see in A New Hope. Fun fact for you, Anakin Skywalker was also born in 41 BBY. [clip, fun fact for yuh Mall Cop]
    Now this new Rey trilogy is set in the year 50 ABY, 50 years after the Battle of Yavin. And that’s 15 years after the Rise of Skywalker. That would make Grogu 91 years old during this new trilogy. To put that in perspective, Yoda was 100 years old when he became a Jedi Master.
    Meaning that at age 91, Grogu will likely be the human years equivalent to a young adult.
    Doug: Wait so this Rey trilogy takes place 15 years after The Rise of Skywalker?
    Yes
    Doug: Oh good, get some distance between that trainwreck.
    True that. [highfive]
    And look, it’s no secret that myself and many other fans weren’t happy with The Rise of Skywlaker, it was bad. [clip. Somehow Palpatine returned]
    But Daisy Ridley and the character of Rey was NOT the problem. I personally feel that she gave a rock solid performance in each of her Star Wars films. And I find Rey to be a really interesting character. She was more interesting before they made her a Palpatine, but oh well.
    So I’m really glad that they aren’t abandoning this character despite the poor reception that the sequels and specifically The Rise of Skywalker received. But let me be clear, this character and the franchise itself does have baggage. And that’s yet another reason I think Grogu will be brought into this new trilogy.
    Not only does the timeline lineup perfect for him to be a fellow force user working with Rey to rebuild the Jedi Order. But he is a popular and beloved character that can help redeem the saga and its theatrical films. And I think in all likelihood this trilogy will actually be episodes 10, 11, and 12 of the Star Wars Saga.
    The thought of a Rey and Grogu duo just gets me giddy. Two powerful force wielders, both temporarily trained by Luke Skywalker, and both trying to find their place in the galaxy. It would be awesome. And if we get to see Grogu riding on Rey’s back, I might cry. [clip]
    Now we need to keep in mind that while Grogu is indeed a strong force user, he is NOT a jedi and is not on the path to becoming one. He’s a Mandalorian. [clip, Din taking Grogu on as his apprentice]
    And that’s where the plot twist comes- As much as I’d love to see Rey and Grogu be a dynamic duo, it’s possible that at first they could be adversaries. As Rey travels the galaxy looking for force sensitives, she could encounter one of the galaxy's strongest force users, Din-Grogu.

    I think creating a trilogy (or two, why the fuck not?) combining the Thrawn & Yuuzhan Vong story arcs would be HUGE.
    It would be so awesome to see Luke in his prime during the ascension of Grand Admiral Thrawn & to see Boba Fett take the fight to the Yuuhzan Vong.
    Both are excellent stories and would translate to the screen really well.
    All of this could be very well tied together, too;
    Heir to the Empire starts about five years after ROTJ, this is the same time as "The Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett & Jedi: Fallen Order"
    The Yuuzan Vong arc is roughly the same period.

    The Grisk seem like the most likely candidates for villains. They have been established by the in-canon Thrawn books but have yet to appear (I think, I haven't read the second trilogy). 1:16 Interesting, I didn't realize that Anakin and Grogu were born in the same year. That would make sense since you can't have the light without the dark. The universe creates them both at the same time. The Jedi figured Anakin would be with them, but the universe knew what he would become.

  • @cacogenicist
    @cacogenicist Před rokem +34

    I suggested a very similar story line recently -- Din Grogu, ruler of Mandalore, must call on the new Jedi order (including Cal Kestis), as some great power from beyond threatens Mandalore and the galaxy more broadly. So I don't think he's going to be helping rebuild the Jedi order.
    I guess it's just a really obvious, no-brainer way to go. Grogu brings an extra few hundred million USD to the take all by himself. Probably more. It would be utterly foolish not to have Grogu in the Rey films.
    I like Daisy Ridley. The problems with those films had absolutely nothing to do with her performance.

    • @DarthSaggezza
      @DarthSaggezza Před rokem +3

      @@HTBsnowgoon I’ve been a Star Wars fan for 45 years. I so I understand how passionate people get about Star Wars. Because I am passionate about it to. I have my own opinions about the sequel trilogy that I’ll keep to myself. I just don’t like it when individuals go after an actor or actress in the Star Wars community and make it personal. I’m starting to see a lot of hate in Star Wars communities over this and Obi Won Kenobi series. Some fans take it way too far. But the personally attack an actor or actress for their performance, or the scripts that they were giving is uncalled for. Especially in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series where there was racism throwing around. That hate is way over the line. So that’s why I said what I said about Daisy Ridley. I might not like a movie or part of a Star Wars movie, but I never look at it personal. Some in the Star Wars community takes it personally, and takes it to another level where it should never have gone to in the first place.

The whole point of the movie was about how your ancestry doesn't define you and you can be from a lineage of evil and reject the evil. Like having Luke be disillusioned and die/become one with the Force - he could have returned as a Force ghost and given a lot of guidance to Rey like Obi-Wan did for him, they shouldn't have brought Palpatine back like that because it makes Vader's sacrifice be for nothing...

    Grogu isn't really a character that can be used in that way. In season 3 they sacrificed the potential of him as a character to keep the merchandise sales going. He is cute and adorable. He makes baby noises. Development of a greater personality is in opposition to sale of toys. They can't introduce him in a film as a character who can talk because the audience will reject that. That's not the Grogu they know. It's kind of the same as the introduction of Luke in The Last Jedi, but with a totally different character. What they would need to do is spend several seasons evolving him to the point he could be used in a film. They are super risk averse though and they won't do that.

    I think another villain option is the Lost Tribe of the Sith from the legends books series Fate of the Jedi. Also Abeloth from same series that would tie back to the Mortis trilogy from the clone wars

    For a serious challenge as they have been known in legends to “take over” others minds and have them do their will with minimal numbers.

    Actually, Ahsoka did identify herself as a Jedi after leaving the order. The final season of Clone Wars, when she's captured by the Pykes.

    It’s certainly possible the Mandalorians were fighting the First Order on their own, and we just didn’t see that aspect of the story. Could be great fodder for future books, comics, or video games

    The issue is they are doing retcons of retcons that are based on other retcons. There could be a story to be told if they start from almost scratch like the Rogue One movie. Just build a good story that happens to take place in this universe and let it rip. But based on what we have seen, I will watch it on streaming.

    My theories:
    - Mando4: Thrawn returns Heir to the Empire style and is a major threat to the New Republic. Ends with a Grysk cliffhanger.
    - Mandoverse Movie: The Grysk are the major antagonists to the story. The Mandoverse groups have to all work together to defeat the new threat. Bo Katan & Mandalorians, Din & Grogu, Boba & Fennec, Ahsoka & the Ghost crew, plus Thrawn vs Grysk. Ending with Thrawn returning to Chiss space once the threat has been eliminated.
    I love the idea of Rey meeting a Mando-Grogu that you outline! But the Thrawn storyline from the Mandoverse would still be something like 30 years before the events of the movie, and Thrawn would be well into his 80's or something like that.

    Dave leaned back in his new office chair, enjoying the satisfying lack of creaking his older chair insisted upon with every light motion. He thought to himself, “My god. This is genius.” as he makes a long sweeping motion across his desk brushing away the last 2 years worth of Star Wars story planning. He cussed to himself as he opened a new tab to navigate to Twitter, and he typed “Ryan Arey” into the search bar…

    This starts with well explained well informed ideas like yeah, Grogu MIGHT be in the movie, quite possible, even likely, but quickly goes off the rails into totally speculative fan fiction like assuming what a Rey and Grogu conversation would be like we have any idea what their situations or personalities would be 15 years in the future. IF Grogu is even in the movie and IF they do a new trilogy with Rey and IF Grogu is still on Mandalore and IF etc etc. It's fun to do but the whole second half of this vid was more fan fiction than fan theory, like a list of things they want to happen.
    The end was more relevant tho, I do think the Grist or the Yuzon Vong could come into iteither in a sequel trilogy but maybe even as early as the Ahsoka series. I guess time will tell x
