I thought so too, but as a model y owner, the materials are surprisingly premium, nicer than my mothers 2022 X6. Pictures don't do it justice, and the model S/X interiors have EVEN nicer materials.

Tesla does that. Removes what you love about cars, and have you make up reasons why this is actually better. No HUD either, probably. Because it's actually safer and beloved by driver and Tesla hates drivers. from 2015 or so they've been openly anti-driver, wanting to leave all the steering controls out, replace YOU with a robot. They can remove half the wheel legally somehow, despite being less safe, so they will.
This thing looks like a hard bite of the DeLorean.

Someone pointed out to me recently that the screen seems like it would get in the way of an airbag for a middle passenger. I'm getting less and less hopeful about the center seat.

Seems there is not just the thick panelling, but also a chassis to cope with it. Maybe less exoskeleton than prediction, in similar ways the "structural battery" in the Y was oversold, and ended up a HEAVIER solution?

When I first saw this, I thought it was a joke. Who the hell wants to buy something that looks like it was designed by a blind person?
Obviously you’re not an engineer. The whole car is a TRUSS and built for one thing…towing and being a truly tough truck made of stainless steel. Armored glass, doesn’t corrode or get damaged, long range, 240V outlets and bi-directional charging. Floats. 4 wheel steering with 8” to maybe even 11” of lift.
But it’s not innovative enough?
