  • 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester is an address which will forever be linked to the horrific crimes of Fred West and Rose West. This is where they sexual assaulted , murdered and buried most of their victims.
The crimes and killings they committed in this den of depravity were barbaric and sadistic. This couple of brutal killers are a classic case of folie a deux. Join me in my latest episode of True Crime where I take a deep dive into this horrific story. Em x

I read Fred West daughter Ann Marie's book "Into the shadows" and it was a harrowing read, and cannot believe what that woman endured, but left me hopeful about the triumph of the human spirit, she is an amazing woman full of compassion and empathy for her family.
Thank you for your take on this infamous couple

Thank you, Ms.Kenny for giving the victims their due. In most cases, the Killers are infamous, but their victims are nearly forgotten, never seen as individuals with lives and dreams of their own. Naming each victim, in the manner you did, finally gave them their identities back. Kudos.

I couldn’t agree more. Especially since I began to watch this channel both my interest and feelings now lie entirely with the victims. They are infinitely more important and valuable than the inhuman humans who torment and kill them. If even to a small degree I feel and I mourn their loss after I listen to Emma describe who they really were. And most important of all I remember them. This channel has made a huge difference in changing my focus in my admitted fascination with true crime. And honestly I feel better and mentally healthier for that. So thank you Emma for really driving home where my emotions should be invested. It sure as hell isn’t Fred or Rose West.

I'm from gloucester. Walked down the alleyway of where their house once stood. My one auntie went to school and was friends with one of their sons. He later was arrested for CP or abuse of his own but like my mum said "Can't grow up in that house and come out normal". People always had suspicions of fred west apparently, it's why my auntie was never allowed to walk home by herself and my dad or their other siblings (10 year age gap between her and the next youngest) would pick her up from after school clubs.

Do you know what above all persuaded the nurses to permit mass murderer Richard Speck to tie them up and convince them he meant them no further harm ? It was his soft and gentle Texas drawl. It’s incredible the tiny things which can gain a victims trust. Ed Kempers ‘Campus Parking’ sticker. Gary Ridgeways little boy. And now the accent of Richard Speck and Fred West. Or how about Jimmy Saville’s knighthood. Amazing.
So any thoughts on Patrick Mackaye Emma ? He seems like the British version of Charles Hatcher in that absolutely no one was safe around him. All that was needed to provoke their murderous instincts was that you be human and alive. Also I can’t find any information about him since he was locked up. I don’t even know if he’s alive or dead.

I have an interesting little story on Fred West. My mum was working for the probation service at the time of Fred serving some time in the Birmingham area, I can’t remember the exact year but it was after 1991 as my Dad had died that year. He used to sit around the hostel chatting to my mum telling her all about his large family and his building projects and extensions on his home! He was always asking the time so my Mums work colleague gave him one of her husbands old watches. I still remember my Mums face when not long after all this the news flashed up with Fred’s face on it and bodies being recovered from the house! 😳

You have a way of delivering a true crime story that no one else does. Most people who regularly watch true crime could tell you the story of the West's without hesitation, but you don't tell us what we already know, which is refreshing.
Personally, I think Fred's head injuries accentuated his depravity and Rose's childhood didn't do her any favours, but I think they were born bad and not mad. The level of macabreness was off the scale and I personally think that union was destined to be an atomic mushroom cloud of sadism, that very few could ever even begin to try to understand.
This makes me nervous to post this as you're soooo experienced and I'm only starting out in my OU Psycology course.
Once again, thankyou for your incredible content :-)

I think she did the basic research.
I've seen much better and from younger youtubers. With much less experience. She does the bare minimum and makes shit up as well.
Anyone who has researched this case can tell you everything she has said. Plus I don't know where she got the stuff about Charmaine being Sexually abused from. Considering no one has ever said that ever. It's speculation on her part certainly. No family members or police or anyone that knew the girl have ever said that. I've researched the case for years and never come across this. Because it's made up.
And if you dig deeper into the family dynamics you would see that it is very likely untrue. Considering Fred was racist in a sexual way. His eldest living mixed race Step child has talked about it. He never touched her. And his true daughters have said. He thought of them as his. Needing to be broken in.

    Emma, a couple of things.
At the height of The Evil Wests Killing Spree, I was a 14/15 year old girl from Merseyside. I had ran away from an abusive home and was hitch hiking on the Motorway, not a penny to my name, and was picked up by a lorry driver. He bought me a cuppa and a sandwich but said he couldn’t take me as far as London as his final stop was Gloucester. He let me out there, and I then had to hitch hike BACK to the Motorway to get another lift to London. (didn’t all us abused girls ‘Run Away’ to London!!) I COULD SO EASILY HAVE BEEN ONE OF THOSE BODIES BURIED IN WEST’S HOUSE!!
Years later, and before the house was demolished, my daughter and I went to see it. We spoke to a man opposite, and nobody had had any idea, although they did think Fred odd.
That he hung himself before facing justice for his victims, shows you the EVIL of the Man. I heard Rose ‘turned to the Bible’ while incarcerated. NOTE TO ROSE: “WASTING YOUR TIME YOU EVIL PIECE OF SH…T!!!
