    I bought the Rustoleum Home floor coating kit, but the cans are small. It's just for my laundry, so it's probably enough, but I noticed your first can was a small like the ones provided in my kit, but your second can was a large 1gallon. That was not provided in my kit I paid $39.99 at home depot. I received small quart size cans. I'm hoping it's the same thing you guys are using.

    I just bought this exact paint today to use on our bathroom! It’s a small area of 1x1 tiles so I don’t plan to do a brush coat over grout but I do want to do 2 coats over the whole floor. How long do you think I need to wait between coats? I want to get this done as quick as I can because we’re anxious to move into our new home ☺️☺️☺️

    Has anyone noticed a minute or two after the paint goes down, some (teensy tiny) spots don't take? I did use a steam cleaner on the grout a couple weeks ago, then yesterday I sprayed tile and grout with crud cutter, then wiped up with a micro fiber rag. After that I steam mopped in hopes to get all the crud cutter up. Now wondering if I didn't get it all up!? :( It is only a few spots, wish I could upload a photo. I've only put down one coat of the base coat so far, will need to do a second coat in 6 hours.

    We just used this product a couple of weeks ago on a very small bathroom. My wife did not like the cheap white tile in there. I said I did not think something like this would hold up very well and would be a very short lived fix. In one of those rare occurrences in life, it's starting to look like I was right. We also went with a grey color. The prep was not too bad. Unfortunately, there was a lot of silicone sealer around the toilet and tub. I cleaned it off the best I could with soap and paint thinner. Then I scuffed it with sand paper. Pretty much everywhere the silicone was is coming up now. There are also spots where the color has lightened for some unknown reason. This did not show up until after applying the top coat. I let it sit for 3 days before using the bathroom. We did not clean the floor for two weeks. Yesterday the floor was mopped, and the bathroom trashcan was put back over the wet floor. Today when I moved the can, there was a light colored ring, indicating the moisture had penetrated the topcoat. About an hour later, the ring has gone away, but that did not give me a good feeling.
    This is an upstairs bathroom in a bonus room so it will not get a lot of use and really won't come into play when we sell the house. But painting a major, high traffic area seems to me to be a disaster in the waiting.

    Have you noticed streaking or lines showing after using the top coat? I just painted our bathroom floor, it looked great until I applied the top coat. Shiny lines are showing after the top coat (matte) dried.

      I bought mine at Home Depot in a 100sqft kit that included the paint, clear top coat, and a floor cleaner for $40. Unfortunately I had to have 3 of the kits and also 2 extra quarts of the paint. My room was about 230sqft. Lowe’s also sells the kits.
      I painted mine white, which required more coverage. I almost wish I had started with a Zinsser primer with a bonding agent which would’ve been cheaper. The white is also not a bright pure white. You can see a difference in my baseboards.

    I think I should have waited a full day for the second coat instead of the 6 hours stated on the directions. I went to add second coat and a piece pulled off. Paint felt sticky. Managed to get the second coat on, but I’m going to wait a full 24 hours before I stencil. @farmhouse living Should I lightly sand before I seal in 24 hours?

    • @FarmhouseLiving
      @FarmhouseLiving  Před 2 lety

      Oh man! I didn't have that experience. I waited the 6 hours but it was really dry and not tacky at all. Do you have a lot of humidity in that room? Let me email my contact at Rust-Oleum and see what they say.
