Ensign Laura Reed is being interviewed by Memory Alphas best reporter Katherine Archer about an galactic scale event which happen only days ago .
A Romulan plan at the Neutral Zone has been stopped and the crew of the Indianapolis narrowly escaped with their lives. This documentary is the only official report to these events because the Romulans deny the events ever took place. Watch and see what eye witness Ensign Reed says about the events and how she was instrumental in saving the crew, ship and potentially the Federation!

You know what goes criminally underrated? The music.
Getting it just right so that it sets the tone without drawing attention away from what's happening on screen is an extremely delicate balance.
People always (quite rightly) praising the visuals and the characters, not enough love is given to the score.
Thanks for noticing. This one was fun as i got to play around with synthesisers, trying to match that classic late 80s breathy sound.

It’s great to see Emma as Laura Reed again! I loved duty calls when it came out and I’ve been waiting for this ever since. Loved the battle scenes as well, nice to see the Constellation class back on screen. Great film!

Emma Thorne is adorable and I love the character of Laura Reed. Would love a series centered on her.
This was so good! Emma's acting was fantastic, and I loved the special effects and ship work so much. When she ship cloaked I grinned so hard, haha. Very professional and fantastic work everyone. Everything is so high quality 😁

Im glad you caught that Doc ;) I literally had that idea when writing...then tweaked the earlier techno dialogue to properly set it up...i LOVE how dead pan Emma deliver's it...were totally serious...it saved the ship ;)

The culture of starfleet comes through this documentary in so many ways, the narration yes, but the casual way this interview is conducted the fact that it is the "primary record" for the event, the other things that are focused on in the brief history and also the push for altruism and peace that is so ingrained ots become casual and defacto. I really could go on but for me it's how Starfleet this feels that really sell it, I would watch these forever they are a magical window into the universe of trek I love so.
The ships look amazing well done, the d'deridex looks so menacing!
Jolan tru, this is probably the best Trek fanfilm I have ever seen. This is coming from a Romulan fan since the 1970's. I even used to own a screen used Romulan costume from TNG. I wore it to a Star Trek convention and Denise Crosby asked me to have a photo with her ( It was not allowed by the event co-ordiantors to have your photo taken with the guests ). She told me how much she enjoyed playing Sela. Wish I still had that photo and costume. This was before cell phones with cameras.

I'm a huge sucker for the Romulans. Gotta watch out for them there plasma torpedoes.
Emma did a great job as always, and I really enjoyed Reed's interview being narrated by Archer.
PS. as soon as you mentioned "anti-neutrons" I knew we were going to get a sly Dr. Who reference.

@@SGUDistantHope In addition to including ships from many eras (which all looked great), I appreciated that Reed, despite her first battle experience, was still hopeful for establishing peace with the Romulans.
Emma is a super star, she could do this next to Picard and be at home even if she was envious of his persona, she's a cool customer and a word magician, please keep her busy, she's magic as are you all my friends🖖
Another great short from Samuel Cockings. I still enjoy the "wide eyed enthusiasm" that Emma brings to the character of Ens. Reed. It will be fun to follow her as she advances up the ladder of promotions.
Really enjoyed this, Emma is really good as a junior officer and really liked Rhea’s narration. Looking forward to the next one.

I had to click in when I saw Emma in uniform being an old Star Trek fan, but the font made it look like Chad in the Neutral Zone, so naturally I had to double take.

For more casual fans, this episode takes place roughly in 2370 (six years after re-contact with the Romulans in the TNG episode "The Neutral Zone" which was 2364). It lines up with Season 2 of DS9, and Season 7 of TNG.

Beautiful episode and stunning visuals. Also just to mention only last week I created a character on STAR TREK ONLINE called Justin Trip Reed for the Discovery story arch. Justin is the grandson of Malcolm Reed so perhaps Justin could be a great uncle or grandfather a few generations removed to Laura Reed perhaps 🤔
Great short and Laura Reed is such a plucky likeable science nerd like Tendi from Lower Decks. I liked the Dr Who reference when Reed modified the deflector system.

These CGI ship models and sets are simply amazing... the acting is simply amazing... _Power543_ _Fan_ _Films_ is..... simply..... amazing!!!

I absolutely *loved* this short video!
What a magnificent parade of the Starfleet Ships of the line. All the way from the NX series Challenger through the Constellation class Indianapolis, to the Excelsior class, and Ambassador Class, and the always awesome New Orleans Class! I was calling out the ship classes as they were appearing, so awesome! Of course special honors always go to the Flagship of the Fleet, the Galaxy Class Enterprise!!
In addition the awesome Romulan ships and the Ferengi Dkora Class are great as well. A veritable cavalcade of ships!

Love it! Romulans are my favorite Trek "villains". Even wrote a couple of stories, one i intended for the New Voyages/Phase II fan series. Sadly that was during the whole fan film problem years ago. Watching real Trek again is always a pleasure. Awesome work!

Only recommendation: Red light the hall and room scenes during battle. They do this in real life because the human eye adjust to red light to no light very quickly. Where as a shift from white light to no light can be quite shocking.

The ship cgi is always great and these stories are fun, but this has some of the best acting to date. Well done!
Well done! This is another great production. One can see (and hear) that everyone involved is dedicated to getting everything correct, from the visuals and dialogue to the music and costumes. Watching this, this morning helped make my day just a little bit better, I even smiled at the end.

Great job on this! This was pretty awesome to watch. I loved the reprised Ron Jones Romulan theme with the music. Also loved the appearance of the Enterprise-D, she looked great. Well all the visuals of each starship looked simply awesome.

I've been around as long as Star Trek: TOS and have loved all the live-action television as well as movies from the franchise. I discovered your channel via Emma Thorne and am so happy to see her on board with your fan films. Keep trekking, live long and prosper.
I absolutely adore Laura Reed, she has so much Lower Decks vibe to her and shows wonderfully that the humor concept of that series - e.g. geeking out when they get to visit the flagship - can work very well in a live action setting as well 😍
Two points of criticism however:
1. Can it be that Laura's scaling isn't quite right when she enters the bridge if the Enterprise? Cause it feels quite a bit off compared to the series...
2. I know animation is a challenging job, but even though it was blurred it felt rather weird that the Ferengi's lips didn't move. It essentially broke the immersion of the episode...
Other than that I loved it, especially as Prodigy got a brush with the neutral zone last week as well 😁 - haven't seen this week's yet so can't comment there 😅

This is the first time I've watched any fan-made film; I wasn't expecting much. This TOTALLY exceeded any expectation I had. Truly captured the spirit and flavor of ST and I am looking forward to watching all of them. Liked and Subscribed!

This is showing a lot of production value. The CGI shots, the documentary/recreated dramatization scenes, the music, ya’ll are getting a lot of value out of this.
One nitpick: 7:00 What are the two sitting at the table doing? Ya’ll have been hit by multiple disruptor blasts! Don’t you have stations to get to?

A VISUALLY SOLO PERFORMANCE! & SHIP FILMING!! It was like watching a regular series!! FANTASTIC Job EVERYBODY!! ..(never seen That many Romulan ships-I've read they are 2miles long! MILES!! That's Bigger than the SDF BATTLECRUISER!! & PICARDS NAME IN IT LINKING TO WHAT WE KNOW NOT TO MENTION PICARDS FIRST COMMAND THE STARGAZER (type ship) different name-REALLY PROFESSIONAL JOB‼️‼️🖖
I'm just catching up on these films and I think that it's a tragedy that more people from "fan films" aren't picked up by the producers of the official series as the talent and passion is so obviously here.
