Bored of these videos? Not at all. I always click your videos first when I see my feed.
The VVT videos are never boring! For me at least lol
need more! Greg is going to be the video manual for miata turbo builds.
Seriously, I recently had to let go of my NA, and I'm prepping for an NB purchase next year, and I'm hoping to do it while keeping my daily, so I can do a build based pretty strongly on the work Greg is doing. I don't know if he has any idea how much this work will matter for posterity.
Hell, I doubt I will probably never do this or at least for a couple years and to be honest, no where near bored, lol.
If you get all clips of you torquing down the bolts and put them all together, you would have made the most satisfying video ever. All the click sounds lol
+Zachary Esquivel that's what I call clickbait 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Not to mention the positioning of the woodruff key because my new gear and key goes on either way
Nevermore I just looked at it positioned in your hand as you installed it and 🙏 😆
Getting bored? Never. A lot of people are starved for build videos that focus on every detail. I'll be going turbo some time in the distant future, and channels that are rich with information like yours allow me to honestly assess my ability to complete the work successfully and do so without spending too much money. The shit you see on TV is so cut-down that you never see the most difficult part of building a fast car, which is always the intricate details that need to be done properly in order for the vehicle to be reliable.
Those chuki beats bring back memories of staying up late doing homework.
I am very impressed with your videos. The quality of production, your knowledge and the ability to present it was far superior to any others I've seen. Manufacturers should hire you to show off their wares.
Probably the best timing belt install video I have seen. Turning the cam slightly to the right, before putting the belt all the way on, was the answer I was looking for.
I have never been bored when watching any of your videos. Thanks for all the free, entertaining, and informational videos.
Great job on these videos Greg. They're by far the most useful miata videos on CZcams.
I just have been bingeing this series! I love this! Brings me hope, and gives me confidence in building my own miata! Never quit my man!!! Never quit!!!
You have no idea how much I love this channel, Massive respect from the UK.
Daaang dude. Can't wait till it's up and running! Good job man.
Your presentations have got much better over the years. Good job!
I swear you are the answer to all my build anxieties. Keep up the great work man.
Never boring, these are your best videos imo!
Awesome video Greg! I cannot wait to see this thing run!
Love these videos. They're really helpful for me doing a VVT swap, particularly as someone else dismantled the engine 3 months ago! Very handy.
Awesome content, awesome production. And always fun to watch!
Thank you for this video!! I just finished my first TB/WP job on my NB2, and wouldn't have been able to do it without this
Thank you so much for this SUPER informative video, Greg! You hit every important question I had as to why my NB2 wasn't starting after replacing the camshaft seals. There are a lot of things you addressed for the VVT engine that no one else seems to address. You have a passion for what you're doing and it really shines through. Seriously, I can't thank you enough!
Thanks for the work that you put into it and for studying all of this stuff and showing to us.
Not bored yet keep them coming Greg !
Thank you for you videos! They helped me replace the timing belt, water pump, and seals on my '01. It was a bigger project than I initially thought, but she's still purring like a kitten.
Another outstanding video Greg! Thanks for mentioning the Updates on the ATI damper. The new spec is actually 3 ten thousandths looser. Glad I could help getting your damper squared away as well.
why have you only got 56K subbs? you are a legend in our house
Sick video as always!
Best video yet. Very slick.
Bored? What? WHAT? No no no, keep em coming, Greg! As far as Miata content goes, this is the good shit. Keep it up buddy!
Best series in automotive youtube as of right now!!!! Red lettering is a must!!
Always great vids & content!
Love your videos. Also like how informative you are and how well scripted the videos are. Thanks for producing great content. Ps when are you going to have merchandise available?
Very informative and detailed assembly. great job man
Love the build vids! Keep it up. I own a 2001 VVT and plan to turbo down the road.
I am ready for this!!
So close to being done!
Gingium Are you watching youtube again gingium??!?!?!😱
Very very nice work. You are careful and great at describing each step. Thanks for the great knowledge.
Careful is actually a good word to describe the videos. Everything is done very deliberately
Excellent video! Thanks for posting
Your vids are never boring. Regards, your best snapchat friend from Sweden (The one with saab engines and drifting)
Can't wait to see your super turbo miata running again, really like your video!!
LIfesaver! Great videos! Well done.
Glad I have these videos for when I build my 1.6 :D I also have the FSM and Rods Enthusaists Manual
Top quality workmanship!
100%legit perfect all the way from London UK. best BY FAR
loving the new music
I really enjoy this video so much, no boring and make me excited me. Good video keep doing just like that peace out!!!!
Greg Thank you so much for this video!!! Great information 👍
Thank you for this video! Couldn’t find any on the vvti engine!
You deserve far more followers!
that rinkle black looks awesome. it looks like a power beast
OH MY GOD ANOTHER VIDEO! YAY
red letters would be sick on the valve cover! and its so cool how theres rarely any negative comments on your videos really shows that youre doing an awesome job (and that like to dislike ratio tho)
Greg, you've mastered engine building lighting, focus, framing, editing and explanation #moviemakersquad
I am going to take a guess and assume you do not know a thing about engines if you think he mastered engine building!
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 what has he done that is bad?
thanks bud another great vid
Clean build, Greg! I stopped working on my own car to watch this lol
Thank you so much for this video 🙂
I love Fords too, thanks for the content
you forgot something....there is a second mark on oil pump, around 10 oclock. And when you bring the crank to that mark you need to loose the tensioner and it will take a little more slack.
its pretty important....that marking is the point where tension is at the max, so its important to check it there
Luka Matijašević Exactly! 1 and 5/6 rotations per the manual
This is right, first time I done my timing belt I didn't know about this and the motor had a horrible vibration. After ready the manual I realised that the tension has to be set at the 10 o clock mark.
bloody gorgeous engine, mate
I've been waiting for you to do a timing belt video in depth for SOOOO LONG! Lol my Miata is literally sitting in my shop broken apart because I was waiting for this. Also if you do go a little more in depth with the CAS for the 1.6 that would be great! I know the 1.8 doesn't have one but you explain things so easily. From looking at the book and online research, it's rather confusing for a shade tree mechanic lol
10/16/21 still watching these vids.. Thanks greg
No, thank YOU 🤍
Can't wait!
Hey man I've learned a lot from watching your videos, my turbo 94 blew up last Saturday and I've been planning and preparing and your videos have helped a lot. I wanted to point out something though, which may not be a big deal at all. But IIRC, the procedure for torquing down the timing belt tensioner is to turn the then 1 5/6 turns, not 2 complete turns. This puts the timing belt under the proper tension for tightening.
No CAS on VVT engines. Just found another reason to put one of these engines in my NA6. Good one Greg.
Ha ha, perfect timing Greg. I've just finished going through all your other build videos!!
Pun? haha
white letters on the valve cover please, red would look hot boi, and this engine looks like a gentleman´s engine
Timing an engine has always confused me. This video makes it look so simple tho. Definitely doing it myself next time. Thanks!
yea do the red with the black it will look cool love your video keep up the good work can't wait to see the car run and beat all them mustangs just be careful that they dont crash into you
that paint looks insane 👌
Daaaaaaaaaamn, that wrinkle black looks so clean! YES RED LETTERING!
Great video!
Great Video!
use the old chrome valve cover bolts from the 1.6 for some extra engine dress up, looks very nice against the wrinkle black
clubroadster trash
yes engine dress up on a 300+ horsepower engine is going to make it trash. nothing wrong with making something look as good as it goes
This video helped a lot!
pretty damn good guide for new builders 5/5 gj Greg
Very good video! ceep it up
"frrrresssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Keep up the good work!
Pfff bored?!??? I want more of these long video's :D love seeing the progression greg
Dont even have a miata but love your videos 🤘
6:00 EDIT: Great video as always :p
great channel
Some may not feel it's necessary, I like to add rat to the blank plate where the cas goes. Great video
Nice build! You need to put a little RTV on the mating surface of the outer cam caps before you tighten the bolts or you might get a small oil leak.
that water feed is a great idea! have an idea where i can buy that prefabbed?
تحياتي لك يا مهندس ارجوا الاستفسار لماذا تم تركيب قشاط الصدر وكانت الطبعه ورقم القشاط بعكس دوران المحرك وليس بإتجاه دورانه
You are my hero
Ohhh man so close to being done!
I just bought a 2001 Mazda Miata with a VVT Engine, its in pieces. what did it cost for this whole rebuild?
Love the black valve cover keep it that way idk about red
probably not an issue for you because I doubt that you're a scrub like me.. but I put tons of rtv on the water pump seal. I didn't the first time and it leaked. only time to find that out is when you have the car all back together. bad times. nice series! I'm watching and waiting!
There is a tensioning mark on your block, you need to face the crank that way and then tension. The mark is at the left side of the block about 9 o clock as far as I can remember (y)
love these series, and white or red with the letters yes :p
show how to do the red letters!!
please make sure you include all the wiring and custom adapter plugs
awsome!
You should expose the cam gears Greg! Looks badass don't know if there's a down side to it though lol
His intake side cam doesnt appear springloaded, to where its pushing the cam gear counter-clockwise. For me, Im having to fight the spring tension and the motor is in the car. Great suggestions here, but he has an easier time of it than I will.
Show us more 😩 I wanna keep watching
Are you gonna use performance intake manifold? My suggestion also idea to make (rather to buy) tubular intake
Hi, need some help my pump has a hole on top like yours (4:24) that I am thinking is used for lubrication. Did you put any grease?
tht spring will be coming off
