  • The Nation of Hydro recently received a new expansion in Version 4.6 which finally brings us the fallen nation of Remuria. In this video, I go over some of the new areas released in Remuria and the lore that hides under the waves of Fontaine.

    "Naturally any rational citizen knows that strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government" Arthurian legend has entered the chat.

    Remuria absolutely was one of my favorite areas. It definitely reminds me of the Emporia and its beauty and joining of Rome and Music is just incredibly well done considering. The Capitol city in the flashbacks were some of my favorite

    "What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word." - Operation: Knightfall "Knightfall" - Star Wars Battlefront II (2005)

    Interesting fact, in case anybody is interested, that i found while looking for Etymology of most Rerurian names in the notes in the area.
    Cunoricus (the prev. ruler of Aremorica), most likely a reference to Cynyr Ceinfarfog, who was a ruler of the Kingdom of Dyfed in Wales. He was known as Cunoricus in Latin and in English as Kendrick or as Cynyr the Red. According to the earliest Welsh versions of the Arthurian legend, he was the foster parent who raised King Arthur, with his son Sir Kay, though this later was attributed to Sir Ector.
    Now what is interesting is another part of Cynyr's biography:
    One of his grandaughter was Creirwy (or Creirvy or Klervi) - a 5th-century pre-Congregational saint from the Welsh settlement of Ploufragan in Armorica, later a part of Brittany and France. It's not the same Creirwy as daughter of Ceridwen (inspiration for Crucabena) but i think it's the real person (Klervi) who was an inspiration for the daughter of Ceridwen in the story (and daughter of Crucabena by extension)
    IDK about Caius btw (the son that Cunoricus had in Genshin), since Cynyr didn't have sons or grandsons with similar name and there's too much Caiuses out there

    • @clementlassalle4317
      @clementlassalle4317 Před měsícem +1

      I just wanted to add that 'Caius' is the latinization (or at least the most common one as far as I can tell) of 'Kay', so if Cynyr (latinized as 'Cunoricus') had a son named Kay (latinized as 'Caius'), then the game's version is actually pretty spot-on

    • @spieds9994
      @spieds9994 Před měsícem

      @@clementlassalle4317 Well, according to Wikipedia, Cynyr:
      "was the father of Saint Non (the mother of Saint David of Wales) and Saint Wenna (the mother of Saint Cybi).
      His grandchildren include:
      Saint Cybi
      Saint David, patron saint of Wales.
      His great-grandchildren include
      Winwaloe
      Jacut
      Wethenoc (or Gwethenoc or Guethenoc)
      Creirwy (or Creirvy or Klervi)
      Cadfan"
      So doesn't seem like it.
      Caius might be reference to Caius Largennius (a legionary of the Legio II Augusta) or Pope Caius (the bishop of Rome from 17 December 283 to his death in 296.) since there's also seem to be a random reference to Decimus Junius Brutus Albinus - a Roman general and politician of the late republican period and one of the leading instigators of Julius Caesar's assassination, in one of the notes. And random in the fact it just says:
      "In his life, he was Decimus, a humble slave.
      Today he is no different from the exalted Harmost, sunken to the bottom of the sea."

    YES...love your videos!
    The "Faded Castle" is definitely one of my favourite places in Teyvat and my favourite place in Fontaine. The atmosphere there is so eerie yet sad, plus it's gorgeously designed (the open world is really getting more and more breathtaking with every new update). And all the lore hidden in the new area is another plus!
    EDIT: Spelling! 🙄

    Dove belongs to the Columbidae family.
    (Columbidae) columbina.
    Dove is associated with the Holy Spirit.
    Columbina mourning signora death.
    Hence, I believe her species is the mourning dove.

      Mourning doves are believed to be a sign of divine connection to the realm of angels and angelic protection. These birds have deep symbolism, representing hope, renewal, and the interconnectedness of all living things. Seeing a mourning dove can remind us of the peace and love surrounding us.
