    It's probably too late, but the sound quality will be MUCH better if you try to emulate that stock plastic bracket that you eliminated. The issue with the way that you have it now is that there's basically going to be little to no separation between the front and rear of the speaker. IDEALLY, the face of the speaker would be sealed against the back side of the interior plastic cover so that the sound out of the front of the speaker can only go into the cabin area. With the way you've done it, you're going to have "dead" areas in the sound where the sound waves from the front and rear of the speaker will cancel themselves out. If the factory plastic is beyond reusing, then emulating it with MDF is how it's typically done. This can be a bit of a PITA, so if you (or a friend) have any CAD experience, you could design a new one and have it 3D printed. You might also try re-inforcing the factory plastic piece with resin and fiberglass so that it has enough strength to accept fasteners. With a restomod of this caliber, a small thing like this shouldn't be skipped. Trust me, your ears will thank you.

      I'm his friend and I have CAD and 3D print experience. I reached out to model and print some new brackets for him 👍🏻.

      Never too late to do the right thing on a project! Will's going to make up some new ones, so I'll be sure to document putting the final pieces in the car in the future.

    Interior is absolutely perfect minus the scratch on the driver knee panel, wonder if a new one could even be sourced. I think the rear bottom seat with the X brace would look sweet.

    Definitely go full seat in the back with matching fabric. You wont regret it. Also what motor do you plan to put in?

    • @avengednick
      @avengednick  Před rokem +1

      That's the plan! Just need to track down a rear seat... And the only motor that should go in a 240, an SR20! Haha

    I definitely think you should keep the rear seats in favor of deleting them. It goes great with the OEM+ build you're looking to get

    I noticed the bottom panel under the steering wheel column has a few minor scratches. Any chance you can probably pass a scotch brite over it and use a black trim paint?

    Rear seat deletes just seem a bit try hard on a street car IMHO

    • @avengednick
      @avengednick  Před rokem

      I'm with you on that, a seat delete definitely wouldn't be the right vibe for this car. Leaning towards full seat with a set of the miracle x bars between the rear strut behind the seat
