You guys, I have a confession. Remember last week when I visited Josh's fish room and told you guys he was selling all his calico butterfly telescopes? Yeah... I bought some. :P Look at how gorgeous they are; how could I possibly resist? In this video you will see some "secret" footage from Josh's fish room that you haven't seen yet and you'll get to watch as I acclimate my new calico butterfly telescope goldfish to their new home and hand-feed them with some Repashy gel food.

My bedroom is a fish room. I got a bad habit of falling asleep in the floor watching my goldfish lol. I have a bed, but I can't see Blu :-( I need to get a stand for my 20 gallon.

It's right after she put them into their tub. They'd literally just had an hour long car-ride and been put into different water. They would have been rather disoriented.

Have you done/could you do a video about the way to set up tanks? The different parts and types of filters, what sort of products to add to the water, what NOT to add to the water, that kind of thing?
I absolutely love your new fish! My favorite is the little red and white one :) I have one goldfish, who is a tiny growth stunted comet who was a feeder fish rescue, I felt so bad for him! But I love my little C.C. ! He now lives a happy spoiled life in his own tub and he is a little chunky monkey now!

Why don't you use canister filters? For me, they're the best method of filtration besides sumps, but of course whatever works best for u :)
Juwairiyah Haque sponge filters are just nice and simple, plus if the goldfish spawned a HOB would destroy the fry
There's pre-intake sponges for fry if someones using HOB or canister filters, but yeah makes sense, i like to use sponges for smaller tanks, they can be pretty effective

Beautiful goldfish Jenny,I'm happy for you to get up and running again,it's good to see you're happy as well after the not so great times.I always thought that handling fish was a bad thing to do as I've read that our skin damages the fishes slime coating and possibly scales and may allow infection,yet in other books about breeding fish it shows the fish being quite roughly handled and I notice on most videos on CZcams the fish are often being handled.
The new fish are really cool, as is your aquarium room. Look forward to the updates. 🙂

I always wonder what do you use to wash your hands before touching fishes or aquarium water
natural and fragrance free hand soaps are good to use

I use the method all natural soap and it works great. It's chemical free. In the past she suggested Dr bronners.
I use very mild fragrance-free soap and rinse my hands extremely well, sometimes twice. I'd like to suggest you never use hand sanitizer when you know you're going to be handling your fish, aquarium water or any aquarium equipment. Your fish are much more likely to get sick from you using hand sanitizer then you are by sticking your hand in the fish tank and not using it
Keerththana Muraleetharan all you need is a filtered water tap. Very rare, but you seem cool enough to have them. Wash with temp. of your tank water. Dry hands until damp. You may now touch your fish. Go crazy

This is kind of weird, but do you ever have issues with having long nails and working with animals (even fish)? Even if they're fake nails, surely there's always a risk of breaking them or accidentally hurting one of your critters with them? I've never had nails so nice, but I'd be scared of accidentally scratching something with them!
When you're used to having long nails, you get used to being more careful. But it does hurt like hell to break a long nail. I just broke two nails really badly this week. :'(

Mal Rathmone long nails drive me crazy, because they get in the way. I am afraid to harm my animals. And I play ukulele and guitar and if you know how to play you know that you need short nails. It’s ok if you don’t know how you just need short nails because your supposed to put the tip of your finger on the strings not the palm of your finger

Jenny I have a question, I just got a 55 gallon I plan to get 3 fancys for, and have some plants with a sand substrate (I'll fertilize the plants). Assuming I cycle for 8 weeks and get them small, I could put all 3 in at once right? I'd like to get them from one place, and I plan to do weekly water changes, 50%to start, slowly working to 90% ? 🐠 💦 I don't want to stress the system.
I have an empty 25 gallon tank here and i think i know whats getting in there, since i´ve watched many goldfish videos ^^. I like the white oranda with red "helmet"...

I just got a bright orange and white Ryukni with a tipe of black on his/her fins and a black moor with a few dark brown scales on his/her side.
Jennie, so glad you've got some goldfish now! You sound much happier! I apologize if I missed your explanation in the video, but why didn't you put the bag water from Josh's into the fish's tub? Seems to me that cycled water from a healthy system would've been good for your newly re-setup tub.
Water cannot be cycled. Beneficial bacteria only grows on surfaces, like on bio-media that you'd put in your filter.
Jennie, I have to disagree with you in part. Though the beneficial bacteria colonizes the solid biomedia, there are latent cells floating around in the water. That's how an uncycled filter placed in an established tank gets its media colonized so quickly.
