DESTROYING My Fish Room
Vložit
- čas přidán 18. 05. 2017
- ▼ LOTS OF INFO ▼ Issues in my fish room have led me to completely tear everything down, throw tons of stuff away, and sterilize everything that remained. I still have most of my goldfish, but I have suffered many losses as their treatment continues. Everyone's favorite, Clyde the butterfly telescope, passed away on May 14th.
New videos are uploaded every Friday and sometimes Tuesday!

UPDATE: The fundraiser to help rebuild my fish room has been launched! You can check out all the details and contribute here: solidgoldaquatics.com/rebuild/
Solid Gold Aquatics I donated sum of the mind I had left in my account and hopefully you keep the fundraiser open for other projects too
I
Ugh I means sum of my muns
I am so sad that you had to go through this. I just went through something similar, and lost all my fancies. I don't have the heart to try again for now, but I am glad you are moving forward. My heart goes out to you!😘
I'll support you!!
Awww Jenny, I'm so sorry to hear about this. The genuine love I know you had/have for your goldfish made this tough to watch. I'm here for what ever you need.
Joey
omg joey king of DIY omg i love you yt videos
Right there Jenny, is the person to build your cabinet.
Just don't let him choose the colour, he can't see it anyways.
*wink wink* Joey, just kidding!
The king of DIY haha right Jesper. Too bad he lives so far. I'm glad you have community like Joey and your friends at dandy orandas and east coast ranchu Jenny. I would LOVE to see a tank with ryukins, pearlscales, ranchus, orandas, and all the rest!
m8 can you even English gud
The king of DIY
I noticed you started to tear up a little when you were talking about Clyde. Girl, we are all here for you. Going through something like this can be painful and heart wrenching but please keep in mind that we are here to support everything you do and we still love you.
oh goodness... watching you cry made me cry. Its so hard to loose fish..especially when you have to deal with the loss while trying to figure out what happened. Its incredibly stressful.. especially when you have thousands of people watching you.
I think you should go ahead with fan funding. As youtubers we have a hard time asking for help... its something I'm still struggling with myself...but youtube is all about community and sometimes we need help from those people that used our videos to help themselves. It goes full circle.
^^^^
Have you considered sending Clyde's body to a veterinary facility for a necropsy? It might give you some answers, and closure. So sorry you're going through this, I can't imagine how difficult this would be. 💔
At the very least a vet can send out histopathology and cytology samples and hope for an answer.
Anna Varty why would you do that can't you just build a small casket make a funeral and leave him in peace 🕇🕆🕇🕆
Get a life
Amrit Heer then how would he be alive?
Because if she went to the vet to have Clyde get a necropsy, she would know what caused Clyde and the other fish to act the way they did and how to prevent it so she wouldn't have to lose other fish from this.
Dude, I don't know if you'll see this. But you're the reason why I fell in love with fish. And you're there reason I've went out and bought two orandas. They've been with me for two years and I love them. I'm so sorry and saddened that this happened to you. Just know that this will get better. I'm so sorry about your fish, and I understand that he was your baby. Sure, people think I'm crazy for getting this attached to a fish. But just know that you've created such a positive impact in my life, and many others. We'll always be here. I hope the best for you, and I genuinely pray that things get better for your fish.
sagatbalrog calm down...
Arlene Sodhi Same! also bought 2 oranda's after seeing her inspiring video's
I love Jenny too! She's part of the reason why I can take such good care of my fish!
MasterAquatics You rock☺️
Lisa k Me too!!
Donated once and will donate again to you. Your videos got my daughter and I into goldfish and it's our favorite time together.
Thank you!
oh, and the built in idea is awesome!
It was for the ECR fund raiser but that is closed. I would wait for Jenny to post an update if she is going to do go fund me or pay pal or somthing.
I have been watching you for about 3 years now, and you got me into goldfish. Now I have a pond full of them in my backyard and my favorite part of the day is feeding them and looking at them. R.I.P all of your fish that have died.
Clyde lived a good life

🐠 She made me cry so much at the end loll all that support is beautiful and I honestly feel honored to be a part of this wonderful community I realy do hope everything ends up being just fine and I know she'll figure a way out of this!! 🐠💙🐟
You've educated me and made me fall in love with these wonderful fish! They have brought me so much joy and help me with anxiety . The least I could do is help with fundraising, I think its a wonderful idea and we can all help make this work!
Also, on the fish cabinet. I think the fish room definitely takes priority. The cabinet is an awesome idea but not a must do,
Yes, please take care of the fish room first. They and you deserve that more right now then we, the fans, deserve a awesome display tank. Stay strong Jenny!
Elisa Sandle I agree. I personally think properly insulating and finishing the fish room should come first, and is obviously more necessary. I'm thinking the cabinet thing is a GREAT idea of hers but an easy distraction... which comes sooo often & easily during times of stress and loss. It's ok though, so nice to see a community of people come to support others.
problems as devastating as this can severely hurt your passion for not only fish keeping, but for any kind of animal enthusiast . stay positive, you're the most caring and determined fish-keeper i watch, you can do this !! sending all my love for you and your fish, i hope everything continues to get better with your fish
YES set up a fund raiser, you have work so hard and lost so much. Your fish and you need a fresh and happy new start. You deserve it! Clyde will live on in all our hearts and minds forever!!!! The room plans for office are awesome. Stay strong we're all behind you. I ware your shirt with pride! 🦋🦋❤️❤️.
I would totally be interested in helping the project. My condolences for the entire fish room. My boyfriend and I have both just watched this episode and even he felt bad. He isn't normally a watcher but I wanted to see what was going on and I've been a watcher for a long time and feel the loss. I hope you continue making amazing videos and the new fish room is better and greater! This month has been hard but in life the storms always clear up, and the sun will shine. -Christopher Adkins
I would SO help/donate/fund in any way I can. I love you and all your fish so much! This is going to be a crazy journey but just know that so many of your viewers and friends will be by your side!
She should get Patreon!
I used Patreon years ago, but I didn't like the platform. Now I have something similar - Solid Gold Membership - on my own website, check it out if you'd like! :) solidgoldaquatics.com/membership-join/
Not sure why I waited so long to become a member. Just joined, best of luck to you and your fish Jennie!
Solid Gold Aquatics lov your passion and love for the aquatic world!!!don't let a little bad luck!!!! bring you down
AnimalJamGirl53012 do you have an Instagram account?
I'm so sorry you're having these troubles with your goldfish. I used to have 3 goldfish (in a 60 gallon tank) and things went from great to me losing all of them in under 2 weeks, and it was something similar to what you're seeing with the cloudy layer of slime(?) starting to coat the fish. It was so devestating to me that I took apart my tank, bleached it, and I didn't want to get fish that I would get so attached to again so I wound up making a tropical community tank (that basically got taken over first by guppies and then by a snail/pest problem). I don't have a tank anymore because of all the issues I'd run into, but your videos always bring me back to thinking of my goldfish babies, and I love watching your fish. Thank you for making videos of them!
I couldn't help but cry at around the 10 minute mark. Thank you for being so open about this. This is such a hard part of the hobby.
one way i like to deal with fish death is that no matter how long they lived for at least they didn't (hopefully) die alone, and that they had a better life with (owner) then at the pets store or cramped space.
some things are just out of our hands...
So sorry for your loss. :( I'll miss Clyde very much.
I am so sorry to hear everything that has happened to you and your fish. Your passion for goldfish is so evident, and it can be so hard to lose your favorite fish, especially in a hard time. Take it slow, rebuild, and I am certain things will get back to better than they ever were.
I would be more than happy to pitch in funding to improve your fish room, and I know other would be as well! Best of luck Jenny! We have all learned so much from you and I know that will never change.
So sorry to hear of your loss ! We all know how much love & care you give your gold fish.
Sorry about Clyde. I had a black moor called Gilly that died out of nowhere and it made me really sad😞 I hope you get rid of this sickness for your fish.
when your ready to ask for help I'm ready to donate!!
Again, your honesty is breathtaking and healing to others who have encountered similar disasters under similar conditions of careful but not careful enough husbandry. Thank you.
I've also had a fish that if she was okay, everything would be okay. Her name was Private. She got stuck in my aquarium between stones and died. So I completly understand your feelings when Clyde is gone.
My boyfriend knew Private was my favourite and bought me a new white goldfish. Of course at first I thought that new fish can't replace Private. But I named it Private 2, and after some time loved it just like Private :) Hope you deal with your fish issues and find a new fish like Clyde :)
Kate Austen lol private 2 thats so sweet :)
Kate Austen ha! That's an awesome name!
Thanks :)
Yes I would like to help. Also, could u maybe do a video visiting the king of diy's fish gallery.
I'd love to if Joey would let me visit! Never been to Nova Scotia before... lol
Visiting Nova Scotia before the gallery is done would be a waste... Give him 6 months or so and it'll be a trip worth...
I've even considdered dragging my family from Denmark to Canada, just to visit him. ;P
Sorry for your loss.. You really need to section off a room inside that tin shed to properly insulate it. There's no shame in having a smaller collection, when you're better equipped to provide the absolute best husbandry possible.
recently I have been having devastating problems as well with my fish, it ended up being the water from the tap was to blame. The city has been working on water mains around my house and contaminated the water. so now I have to do water changes much slower with filtered water. It's been a task, it's exhausting, I didn't know what happened till too late for most my fish. I really truly hope your fish heal and you seem to have them in treatment for any pest/fungal/bacterial infection which is rough as well. Just remember that out of all the bad days, trust me we have them too, you are always going to learn something new. There will always be days where all you want is to shut down and lock out the world, and if you need that take a vacation. No one will have a problem with that. I'm 💯% supportive of you taking care of you. Stay Gold hun
sorry to hear about your loss. thank you for talking about it though. i went through a similar experience with dropsy and my longtime buddy Rusty (shabunkin comet). tried everything but eventually had to euthanize. made me want to get rid of my tanks, but then i decided i would work even harder (and more importantly smarter) to make sure my negligence would never be a factor again. my other fish have definitely benefited. I think you can absolutely turn this around and make way more good come from this awful situation than seems possible now. again, thanks for talking about it and showing that this is something that can even happen to the best of us. lots of love from my household!
I will donate.
I've had a couple of Goldfish mass deaths - so I know what your going through - it does get better so stay strong.
My experience, in Australia, is that imported fish (in my case from Japan) are weaker than locally bred fish - I think the Japanese breeding has pushed particular goldfish varieties very far genetically.
I now regularly salt my fish, use bio filtration and UV sterilisation. I also do regular and fairly large water changes.
A varied diet (including wheat germ in winter) helps grow healthy fish.
Best of luck. Simon
everist22 Where do you get your goldfish from in Australia? I've been trying to find a good supplier. Thanks in advance.
Caitlin C Which city are u in in Australia? I'm in Melbourne so I really only know Melbourne
*fish plague*
I recently had a mass death about a month ago (rewatchhing her videos to remember im not the only one it's happened too cause im upset) and the other day I got the courage to get another goldie.
Hey Jennie, I've been subscribed for a while and I'm not one to comment on videos but my hearts been breaking for you, you're one of the biggest reasons I've started my Oranda tank and I've learned so much from you from you, your channel is the first I go to when I have any questions and I'm always constantly checking your channel on Fridays to watch your new videos. My deepest condolences go out to you on one of the hardest times, I understand the heartbreak of loosing a beloved fish and would love to donate to your indoor aquarium wall and for the fishroom as well, I'll be wearing your beautiful shirt with Clyde on it for a very long time, he may be gone but he'll never be forgotten, S.I.P. To all your beloved lost fish but especially to the King of the fish room, once a king, always a king. Sending all my love and positive vibes your way.
I might not have goldfish but your videos have taught me so much about keeping fish in general and to respect them and love them as much as any other pet I've had. I'd love to donate to your project, your fish mean so much to you and I've honestly not been here that long but this is still meaningful to you and all of us.
i can only imagine how hard this is for you and i am so sorry you had to go through this. ive lost one of my favorite fish and i wasnt excited about the hobby anymore. i know you are going to push through this, and we are all here to support you!! keep up the great videos!
I'm so sorry for your loss. You and your fishes are in my thoughts 💕
My goldfish was 12 year old and then dies because of his bladder..
Good on you for talking openly about this. A lot of people would shy away from the details and the grim reality, but it's important to talk about the bad times.
Thank you for pushing through Jenny, we were worried about you and your babies. I am sure we will all be happy to support you during your journey of healing from this. You are an inspiration. Stay strong. You've got this!
lynx when dropsy comes don't mix all the fish together keep them separately,Epsom salt worked for my goldfish and please don't leave this hobby you are the best goldfish keeper I've ever known
Nemo Aquatics I don't think she had a choice considering more than just dropsy was happening.
the only thing I wish is to see all the goldfish will survive
Sorry for your loss Jenny , I loved your Clyde very much, I think that was why I ever started goldfish keeping lol.
I'm so sorry for your loss! I know what it's like to loose a favorite pet....fish or otherwise! Watching this just broke my heart! What brought this on??? I just have no words that are going to be comforting for you. You have had such amazing videos, and incredible fish. I do hope so much you continue in the future! Take your time, we will be here for what ever you need. Big hugs!
Cynthia is amazing! She gave me a call when I had some problems and lost a few fish to try to help and give her condolences for the lost goldfish. It's an awful and frustrating thing to deal with! Whenever I've had a fish pass away it's so easy to blame yourself and wonder what YOU did wrong, even when these things just happen. So sorry for your loss. Nothing that you did is overkill, it's incredibly difficult to get rid of some weird "bug" when you don't just start new.
start a go fund me
the rates are to crazy, direct paypal should be better
A bit of advice about the renovations you want to do. Try to find some recycled materials. I've been watching a shepherds hut build by a guy called Dave Erasmus. he has cut cost dramatically by using recycled stuff wherever possible.
This to shall pass. I am sorry for your fish loss one of the things about getting bigger is things are harder to control. I have just gotten back in fish after a 20 year break. You are a bright inspiration. Take your time and start rebuilding when you feel good about it. You will have lots of support.
Best Regards
My goodness, you poor girl. I lost my favourite fish recently and it crushed me, I could not imagine losing my favourite AND so many more to some unknown disaster. Thank you for staying strong for the rest of them and fighting hard to save them, the poor babies.
you deserve new fish! Your viewers love you and your advice. I'm still a beginner in the fish hobby and watching your videos helps a lot! You, Joey, and Pecktec are my fav fish peeps 💓 sorry that you lost Clyde and some other scale babies 😥
You need to snuggle with your cats and the crocheted Clyde
owen waterall sorry, I misinterpreted your statement :)
It's so sad to hear about this! I feel so bad for you and all of your fish but it seems like every hobbyist ends up going through tragedies like this. I hope all of your fish are able to recover from this, and especially you. We're all here for you! Good luck!
I'm not a huge goldfish fan however I found you thanks to The king of DIY and I've been checking in on your videos since because your goldfish are all so pretty. Its also thanks to you I identified seed shrimp in my 30 gallon betta/community.
I don't know what personal life challenges your facing however I wish to say what I think every time I watch one of your videos.
Your fish must love you. Your trying so hard to keep them happy and healthy and to me watching you put your hand into the tank and watching you hold a fish is amazing. They don't look like their struggling a lot so that has to mean that they trust you to handle them like that. Your trying your best. I'm sure your fish also know this. Sometimes our best isn't enough.
If you need I'm sure your fans wouldn't mind if you take few weeks break from videos. Your health and happiness is most important.
Oh Jenny I'm so sorry. This is so frustrating. I really relate and appreciate what you said about how hard it can be difficult to film at times. While this channel is new I have other channels that I have totally disappeared from like this before. Good job pushing through and I'm so sorry about Clyde and just everything. We all really appreciate everything you do!
That's hard losing a friend
Watched entire ad
Omg sorry for your loss and hopefully you get the fish room up and running soon , we love you and your fishes
I hear you on the health issues. I've been having a hard time of it myself lately. I'll spare you the details unless you'd like to know, but I want you to know that watching your videos is a nice break from really feeling my own mental and physical health issues - and that you got me stuck on goldfish, which has proven to be exactly what I need to keep right now. Thank you and keep on trucking!!!
As soon as you're ready to put up the fundraiser I'll start donating. It is only the fairest of occasions, many of us have followed, watched, heard and learned from you every step of the way. I guess it's time for us to give back something very much well deserved in return. Hundreds of us need you and we'd hate to see you and your passion fade away, that's not happening so we're ready whenever you are! I am terribly sorry about Clyde but remember that all the other chubs need you still and many more will come to stay in your heart just like Clyde did. Best of wishes and luck GoldieGoddess ❤️
My 3 favorite fish. Clyde, Gwen, and quartoroid are all dead and I'm deppresed. Rip in the big pond their are swimming in now in the sky.😭And now Lincoln
Yes Sweetie please quardaroid was my favorite! sip
Yes Sweetie please do you mean corduroy?
Is that how you spell it?
Yes Sweetie please I think so... like the teddy bear right?
Rachel falls lmao I know I shouldn't laugh, but it's spelled like the bear
I saw a baby Clyde in the fry
I'm so sorry, Jenny. I have been through this on a smaller scale. It is so frustrating and sad and ultimately made me take a break on goldfish. I know I will be back, but it can be so hard. Lots of hugs to you. I know Clyde was special.
So sorry to hear about the bad news, been trying really hard to follow over IG, but it's great to hear an update from yourself, will happily donate towards a fishroom devout to goldfish! There's too little out there for the goldfish hobby and as a personal supporter of the goldfish hobby, I would love to see this happen!! Sending love and support x
Hey Jenny do you think it was the two black Thai orandas that you got? I purchased a black oranda from swk and something similar happened to me.
*fish plague*
I'm so sorry to hear all this! When it rains it pours right? But I had something very similar happen to me about 7-8 years ago, I've always had fish since I was young and out of the blue my whole tank systematically crashed :( one by one my fish developed what looked to be Velvet, but then each fish (including a betta I had had for like 5-6 years) died with what looked like dropsy (along with the velvet looking stuff) I haven't had fish since( I live in Florida too so not sure if it could be some sort of graphical thing??) I broke my tank down cleaned it and it set in storage for a long time. I actually cleaned it and set it up again but no fish in it.
It breaks my heart to see you hold back those tears for Clyde. I lost my female calico ryukin over dropsy and I was too late to treat her. you also mentioned you used the same equipment for all your main tanks, that was my same mistake and that's how my calicos got sick. I would happily donate just to see you start over and figure out how to prevent another contamination disaster. I've spoken to Ken Fischer from Dandy Orandas yesterday about what happened to my calicos. he said to try this method: Nitrofuracin Green from NFP. most fish farms use this to treat all types of perisites internal and external. they also use it for their shipping bags when shipping fish. Hope this small tip helps you love. don't give up! you and many other fish hobbyist are the reason my partner and I are growing our own fish farm in CO. much love and stay strong my friend.
I quarantined two new fish before adding them into my tank. Something similar to this happened and it stopped me from the hobby. You re-introduced it to me and I would love to donate to help you start over. I love your videos and how passionate you are about fish keeping, at the end of the day don't be to hard on yourself. Make sure to take some time to your self and relax, we all love you, best wishes❤️
Don't ever give up on what you love
sorry for your losses hopefully you have no more loses and do a fund raiser I know thousands of people will donate so they can help your dreams to come through and i'm so sorry that Clyde passed away too I get you a lot when you lose a really bonded pet I have 125 pets that most of them are social animals and when my dog passed away that I was born with literally and she passed away I was almost crying for months but now I think of it she is still with me as a spirit helping me
yes i have 125 pets most people tell me you have a petting zoo in my home lol
You are one of the few people I log into youtube to watch. Your videos have improved the quality of life for my own fish immensely. Please crowdfund for your fish room. I will pledge as much as I can, and I'll be happy to do so to see you realise your dream, and give your fish everything you can.
Hi! I'm so sorry for your loss and all of this! I had no idea you were going through this. Poor Clyde :( Of course, I'll support you in your fundraiser. I've learned so much from you! and yes you deserve all the help and love and support you are receiving. I understand how hard these things are. My 8-year goldfish died 2 days ago out of nowhere but I now have an idea after talking with other goldfish parents that are experts. I came here to watch about your trip to Japan and to keep up with your channel because work had me so busy lately I had no time for fun, and when I saw this my heart dropped. :(
NOOOOOOOOO!!!! CLYYYYYDDDEEEEE!!!! NOOOOOOOOO!!!! WHYYYYYY😭😭😭😭
I am truly sorry you are going through this! Since you live in Florida, could you contact the veterinary department at the University of Florida (my daughter's Alma Mater!)? They have an extensive commitment to fish research because of the ornamental fish industry. Perhaps they have either encountered it or would want any info or samples you might could provide. There are others going through, or will go through, this devastating illness.
I'm sure it has been so overwhelmingly difficult, with the losses and the hard work needed to keep things going. I'm new to the channel but you're a really awesome person, and I appreciate what you do here. I would be willing to chip in for a fund raiser.
My best advice is to keep busy and do one day at a time, trust me you don't want to be stuck sitting around and feeling upset, its worse that way. best of luck to you, i'm truly sorry you've had to go through all this.
Stay strong my friend! I too have many problems with goldfish and often times swear I'm never gold fishing ever again. I have problems when the weather changes and it's always dropsy. I can cure it but about a year later they get it again. I often compare goldfish to thoroughbred horses, because I have had many. They have hearts of gold, but are very sensitive and delicate. They, like goldfish, have many health and lameness problems that other breeds would not even blink an eye at. Like goldfish, these problems that they get would probably not harm other hardy non modified species. But, because we love them, we keep trying. I would donate a small sum to help keep your channel going and to help you recover from this devastating event. Keep your head up and this too shall pass. Good luck🐠
Don't be alarmed by the noise outside. It's just me digging through your trash. Anyways... I'm real sorry to hear about these issues. I've been having a similar issue since some new fish from the store brought me some nasty internal parasites. I'd be sure to give the fish that you're treating some probiotics and top quality food as well as tons of aeration. Perhaps you should also cover half of the holding tank so that they have a dark spot to go to when they need.
NOOOOO CLYDE 😭
I'm so sorry about what had happened! I hope everything will get better. RIP Clyde and stay strong!
I'm sorry things have gone downhill for you recently, Jenny. I wish you all the best, and I hope things improve soon. Hugs for you, keep your head up - this can't last forever.
I send Joey a little money so of course i will send you also a bit of money.
So why don't have all the tanks connect together and have a bio filter and sterilizer and it will get rid of all the problems in your fish room. I had goldfishes and i had that same problem that u are having. This will fix your problem..
I'm so sorry about your losses and your difficulties you are experiencing. Hope everything gets back to normal soon
Oh Jenny! I'm so sorry to hear about Clyde! I know you're going through a rough time, but I want to say thank you for keep making videos throughout it. I think a lot of new fishkeepers, like myself, need to know and be prepared for things like this, so thank you. And I would totally donate to help fund the display tank or the new fish room equipment!
Use a bio filter and sterilizer and it will get rid of most of your problems. And don't use sponge filters it keeps bacteria on the inside of the sponge Filters .
I would love to donate to that. I would donate just cause Clyde.
Whenever you're ready I will definitely donate for your project. Your fish and your channel really helped me with my anxiety throughout college. I used to watch your videos to calm down. I am so sorry this happened to you. I'd love to give back any way I can!
Oh no! That's terrible! I'm so sorry you have to deal with this plague. :( Don't blame yourself too much- sometimes bad things just happen. Tearing it all down was probably for the best, seeing how infectious it was. I would definitely donate to help restore your fish room and for the new cabinet! You could aim for the fish room redo, but if you don't have enough to do the project do the cabinet instead. The cabinet is very cool but I'd like to see the fish room redone. Hang in there!
Sorry this happened to u hope u don't get discouraged.
We'd support you! Start the GOFUNDME! :)
I'm so sorry for your loss. I am going through a similar horror. Keep on going, its a hobby that can be so frustrating...
It's so reassuring to my sense of humanity to see your dedication to the health of your fish. I was in a chain pet store yesterday looking at tank after tank of sick and dead goldfish, I left the place in tears. I agree with you about dropsy, my heart always sinks when I see a fish with dropsy. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Thanks so much for this video, very informative.
what about the axolotles !?!?!?!
ryan mcconcille and about the fry?
ryan mcconcille she literally answered this in the video.
Sorry Hannah, I paid no attention...
I'm sorry for your loss, we will miss Clyde :(. Sorry for your fish room meltdown too and I hope things get better quickly for you.
I want to come give you a big hug, I am so sorry for your loss, or losses. It must be hard losing so much. We are here for you. We love you and support you.
you can use steralize tubs for your gold fishes becasuse it is good because my gold fishes of my fishyes soo it is good so try it .
fiterzation you can take adivce from joey THE KING DIY
im very sorry, im Not going to donate, my funds go to my fish. Otherwise I boiled everything when something similar happened to me, it was a long hard thing to do but it worked a treat. I dont think (IMO) you should have just thrown everything out. Good luck !
Jenny I am SO sorry to hear about the fish problems and losing Clyde. I am sure most of your subscribers would want to help with getting your fish room the way you want/need. People make mistakes and it's ok, please don't be too hard on yourself. You love and care for your fish so diligently, these things happen so don't get discouraged.
I am so very very sorry about Clyde and the others
Use UV sterilizer girl
UV sterilizers are helpful and I have used them in the past, but they do not 100% sterilize every cubic inch of water. You can still have bad disease outbreaks when using UV sterilizers. They are most helpful for keeping the water crystal clear, not much beyond that.
Solid Gold Aquatics Are you going to be using individual siphons & buckets for each tank from now on? Rachel Oleary seems to have a really nice system for controling cross contamination :) Fish disease is so aggressive & a pain in the butt!
Solid Gold Aquatics maybe its from their food?
boscoitalics she's been feeding them the same for a really long time. I doubt that's what caused it.
I recently had a mystery illness hit my beloved betta, whom I had to make a tough decision for, just as you did for Clyde. Like you I reached out to breeders and fellow hobbyists and they were all stumped.
We cannot control everything in our hobby, no matter how hard we try. Take some time, figure out what the hobby means to you moving forward. Set a clear goal for yourself and keep going.
Hang in there. *Keep calm and look at the pretty fish*
Im so sorry for your loss... I saw Clyde a couple years ago very shortly after I got my first 2 black moors and began my own fish journey...he was the first goldfish that made me want to really get into it as a hobbyist because he was so striking and beautiful and Ive been watching your channel ever since. You inspire me everyday as a goldfish lover and hobbyist and I can only imagine losing Clyde is akin to when I lost my Storm. She was a huge pure white Ryukin that a grew from a baby to the size of my hand before she passed from dropsy almost a year ago...I stayed up all night with her when she started to go downhill, I didnt have the resources (or the strength because she was my baby) to euthanize her, I just tried to treat the dropsy as well as I could. I hope that whatever is going on with your fish subsides soon. Thank you for showing all the sides of goldfishing keeping. ♡♡♡
I appreciate you so much, Jennie. You have taught me so much! I'm so sorry about what you are having to deal with right now, especially losing Clyde. We are learning with you from this horrible experience, so I appreciate you continuing to make videos as you go through this. With regard to your personal health issues, just remember to "just keep swimming!" We love you and this too shall pass!
