  • Here we see one of the eight new City of Ryde Waste Collection Side loaders that began operations in Ryde on the 1st May 2015, under a seven year contract with Suez Environment, formerly known as Sita Australia. Tuck 754 is seen starring in this video looking almost new collecting the residential garbage on the quiet streets of Ryde just after 7am, on the third day of the new contract. 754 has been rostered on to handle the garbage collections daily throughout Ryde, with the former awesome driver of SL030 behind the wheel of his truck in this video and keeping things nice and tidy as usual. There are currently four garbage and four recycle/veg side loaders used for the residential collections in the new Ryde Contact and also joining the fleet of trucks are four rear loaders, one for units garbage, one for units and trade recycle, one for cleanup and one to handle the garbage bulk unit and trade bins.
There is nothing better than seeing fresh and pristine equipment on the first few days of the job, as everything runs smoothly and the trucks are performing and looking there best. Obviously you guys will notice in the video that this trucks arm has been slowed down, to prevent lids being flipped which has been a requirement by council to keep the streets looking neat. But im really not sure if the rule to keep the lids shut after collection has become a requirement, as there are quite a few of the new Ryde trucks still flipping lids and I suppose time will tell if council cracks down on drivers to shut the lids or things will go back to normal in Ryde.
The inside of the cab is just as good as the outside and after having a look inside the cab, what a difference it is from the old Ryde ACCO's. I will get a pic of the in cab soon, but the new Ryde ones feature the stock standard 2015 Iveco Acco interior and exterior, RVS colour monitor, numerous cameras on interior and exterior of vehicle, BOTEK waste management systems and the Superior Pak control panel-monitor. All the new technology makes the new Ryde Trucks a beautiful machine to drive and operate, but theres no doubt some of the drivers loath the safety features attached to there new vehicles which was pretty much non existent in there old trucks. Also drivers on the first few weeks did have some troubles getting used to SPAK controls and safety features attached which was understandable as they were so used to the old controls and had never been exposed to the new technologies and on the first few days most if not all just wanted there old trucks back. But now already three weeks into the new contract and I can see a lot of the drivers are starting to get used to there new machines and loving it.
In terms of collection times for side loaders in the new Ryde Contract things have changed slightly, the trucks start collecting a little later at 4:45am-5:00am and usually finish up around 12-1:30pm, due to later start times, runs getting bigger and the picking up of trade bins by the domestic trucks has meant bigger days in Ryde and drivers working more for there money. First thing the garbage and recycle drivers all start out at 4:45-5am and do a quick 50 or so trade bins and then at 5:30-5:45am do there main roads and by 6am all garbage/recycle/veg trucks starting working the domestic and residential bins, all aiming for a full two loads per truck each day.
I hope you guys enjoy seeing the first new look of the Ryde Waste Collection trucks in action and plenty more is to come of the new Ryde trucks in the near future to my channel. Thanks again goes to the awesome driver behind the wheel for the speedy and always neat and tidy action and he is sure enjoying his new truck 754 but still misses SL030 as it was much quicker to operate. Also thanks to you guys for watching and remember to like, fav and sub.

Very cool video. I'm liking the new trucks. I can say the new Acco has definitely grown on me. There was also some very tidy filming done in this one too. Can't wait to see the rear loaders. Awesome work Alex.

MelbourneGarbo® Thanks Caiden and yeah im loving the new trucks, even better on the inside, will have to get some photos of the Dennis and Iveco interior. While with my good mate Jason on 757 today, i spotted one of the new Dennis rear loader picking up the units garbage, when I first saw it I thought it was a bus definitely very weird seeing a Dennis in Ryde :P Will definitely get some footage of the Dennis trucks this week.

garbagetrucksrule Thanks, Sure were thats what happens when start times are pushed back by council, main roads such as the one in the video cant be done early due to the late start times and bigger runs !

Nice work mate! I kinda miss the old unique green trucks, but I guess these trucks are not too bad! Once the drivers get used to these and the arm loosens up a bit, it will be back to normal! I hope......

jatho4 Thanks mate, yeah me too, they were like iconic to the City of Ryde, at least 3or4 of the old Ryde MKIV's are being kept as spares. Theres no doubt these new white Ryde ones still look good even better on the inside ! Some of the drivers are already liking there new trucks as they hardly lose any bins with the SPAK grabbers as opposed to the old MJ grabbers, were the guys were losing 3-5 bins per day especially on greens ! The only bad thing they dont like about there fresh machines is the slow speed of the arm and I hope they decide to spped them up back to normal as drivers are losing time by second guessing what streets they have done especially when helping each other out.
