    Ah Mr Saunders!
    Great review. I share an at44-10 .177 with my father. It’s our back up rifle. Really good rifle and you can really see it in the air max. Don’t know how the .22 air max would perform, but my .177 at44-10 loves JSB exact 4.50
    Just rewatched your review on the ATA arms airborne. I was torn between buying that or the Zbroia Hortitsia. As I found the at44-10 a bit heavy and long I thought I’d struggle even more with the ATA.
    All the best!!! 👍

    Just use the fill probe to push out the plug, no tools needed. Just love those magazines, they don't damage any pellets, quick to reload and if you need any, they're easy to make with a 3d printer. I made some out of glow in the dark filament for night time shooting (easy to find back when you drop them).

    Quite a nice gun, it is a bit 'Captain Nemo' as Red Pill Nibbler says, lol. I have an HW100 bull-pup, went to Drapers to buy the Walther one (reign?) but came out the shop £300 poorer with the Weihrauch! I just loved the soft touch coated wooden stock over the more plasticky synthetic Walther stock. Have you tested any of the Diana guns? I have a 54 Air King which is an 'odd-un', it has a sidelever and the action/barrel slides on the stock like a gun carriage :)

    Excellent advise regarding platforms. Thank you!
    Can you suggest an FAC air rifle cheaper than the FX Impact M3 0.177, which can compete with it in power (47J) and accuracy?

    • @alphamilitaria2756
      @alphamilitaria2756  Před 2 lety

      Hi. Does it have to be .177? I only ask because I'd question whether 47J/35 ft lbs is too much power for a .177. You'd need a pretty heavy pellet/slug to be able to tame that power and get the velocity down to a manageable (accurate) level. And your choices for very heavy .177 pellets and slugs is limited. A 47J/35 ft lbs. .22 will deliver a 16/18g pellet/slug at close to 1,000 fps which I'd suggest is about maximum in terms of stability. In terms of rifles, the Daystate Wolverine R is worth taking a look at and is a few hundred pounds cheaper than the M3. The Brocock Sniper XR Safari is much cheaper still. In .177 they will deliver around 20 ft. lbs. which is about as high as I'd want to go in FAC. The Air Arms S510 is also worth a look, the TDR if you want a more tactical aesthetic. I hope that helps and please let us know if we can help further.

    I own a .25 Bullboss that is basically the same platform. As mentioned, you should have cleaned the barrel to get tight results. Mine likes the JSB exact king. When buying a Hatsan you should spend an afternoon with polishing paper to make the internals work less gritty. When new , mine felt like it had swallowed a handful of sand before shipment, now everything works smooth as silk. I ditched the QE altogether (worthless piece of sh...) and replaced the shroud with a carbon tube(20x1x500 mm). At the end of the barrel is 1/2-20 thread so you can mount an aftermarket suppressor or make your own. Added advantage is that you can now pre-tension your barrel what helps with accuracy. I can now place groups of 5 within 4cm (.25) at 75 meter distance all day long. waiting for a Hatsan factor now..

    • @alphamilitaria2756
      @alphamilitaria2756  Před 3 lety

      Yes indeed, I neglected to say that the barrel is threaded so you can indeed remove the shroud altogether and fit a silencer directly to the barrel. Thanks for watching.

    • @erasmoalaniz
      @erasmoalaniz Před 2 lety

      If I may ask...I was thinking of doing the same thing for quite sometime with my bull boss. Do you have anything around barrel to keep the carbon fiber shroud snug? Is the suppressor what hold the carbon fiber shroud in place?

    • @dutchsailor6620
      @dutchsailor6620 Před 2 lety

      @@erasmoalaniz I made my own suppressor from 3d printed parts and plastic drain pipe. The internal looks like some stacked square air splitters like in the mp5 suppressor photographs you can find on the internet. The rear cap holds the 1/2-20 nut and partially slides over the carbon shroud. This shroud stays centered on the barrel by this rear cap, the front rail mount and a small ring I printed that fits inside the shroud . I got to this after designing and testing some different designs and this works best (for me).
      By tightening the suppressor i can adjust the pre-tension of the shroud until i find a setting that works for a certain distance. The sound that the shroud gives when ticking it with my fingernail gives me a good indication of the tension.
      Dont spend money on some overpriced suppressor but get you a 3d printer instead and design a custom suppressor that works and finetune it. Great tool if you need any custom picatinny adapters or other parts, pays for itself.
