Depending on your muscles it could be counterproductive, for example, if you're fat you'll have to use more force, doing 100 pull-ups a day (definitely doable if you can do at least 5 per set) you'll work the muscle too much, which will grow but slower

I think people need to realize that no matter what anyone else says, no matter what you're told to do by the internet, your progress will entirely be based on you, your body, and your mindset. If you just do the best you can and try to keep a rhythm, then you don't need to worry about much else. How hard I need to train and how much I need to eat to get the physique I want is literally all I do, and I'm am satisfied with it. I make sure I can tell when and for how long I can workout for and act accordingly to how my body feels. It took me a bit of time to be able to really get a feel of my body and its muscles, but now I only worry about making sure I am not being lazy with my workouts and that I never overdo it to a point where it affects my training the next day.

I start doing pullups because i heard it increase height it really helped me a lot and i increase 2 inches maybe the pullups didn't make me grow i used to carry a big backpack when i was student and that gave me a horrible posture made me look 2 inch shorter but after i start doing pullups i regain those inches. So... I did 100 pullups in a day
    Mostly every Sunday
And I agree with this video
It does feel like building the core, the back and especially the biceps
After I done this challenge tho, I couldn't hold my fist tight, the soreness is strong
And, I've jumped from doing 9-10 pull-ups per set to doing 15-20 pull-ups
It is a great challenge for a lot of stuff, and if your bar is set high, you can also actually train your jumps
What I also recommend is to hold a 5kg or more weight on you to really feel the effect of the pull-ups

In mid-spring I started constantly trying.
In may last year I managed to get 1 pull-up.
And every day I just tried and tried to do it.
I think you need to have that mindset which says to yourself I CAN DO IT, for me, I just wanted to do 20 pullups constantly. I don't know if this really helped you, but another advice is to get yourself some movement momentum before pulling yourself, just like doing muscle-ups.

I did what you are describing, it works too, but I suggest you research about greasing the groove, you can definitely do 100 pull ups everyday especially when you are FAR from failure....high frequency low intensity works better for not burning out and upping the reps very fast, even with 1 set close to failure you can over do it. Plus, grease the groove works faster for this than getting close to failure, but everyone with their preferences I guess. ;)

I can't do anywhere close to 100 pullups (I'm a woman anyway lol) but I have a talent for the dead hang and I AM significantly taller! I grew about 3 cms over a few months of focusing on dead hang. I don't even think it's my posture. I think it's because my vertebrae are more spaced out.

@@wheal2825 even if it were 100 over the course of a day I'd struggle. I can only do 2 at a time! I do them with added weight (about 5-7.5 kgs) to try to increase my strength but it is really slow. My goal is to be able to do a set of 5 by May. It took me about 10 months just to be able to do my first one. However I will not give up. I think it is a matter of persistence. :)

Actually, the guy in the blue shirt showed the incorrect form of breathing when doing pull ups. Maybe it’s just me, but I had a severe headache after pull ups for weeks. I could not figure out what was wrong, but when I changed my breathing the headache was gone instantly. So the way I breathe is breath in on the way up and exhale on the way down. So if anyone else experiences headaches after pull ups this might help!
