  • “Tough” is an adjective we often associate with our perception of manliness. But in the relative ease of modernity, men are becoming increasingly soft and pathetic. Being tough is no longer amatter of survival but a matter of choice. And, why wouldn’t you choose to be tough? It’s rhetorical but why are so many men weak?
My guest today, founder of MTNTOUGH, Dustin Diefenderfer is a man who knows what it means to be tough. He’s also training thousands of men to do the same though physical fitness that matters in the mountains and in everyday life. Today, we talk about the importance of brotherhood, the reason every man needs a purpose, passion, and plan, taking “tests” to quantify your progress, what he calls, “the 10-year rule,” the “Spartan Effect,” and so much more.

I'll defend your right to hunt until my last breath but you're still an a-hole for using a bow. You may be good with a bow, you may even have a perfect record of quickly dropping your target with a bow but at some point it will run off slowly bleeding out in pain and it's 100 times more likely to happen with a bow than it is a rifle. Or worse, it will run off and not die until it succumbs to infection and agony.
Using a bow to hunt large game is a lot like people using small caliber rifles to hunt large animals.
Working for and accomplishing your target kill is incredible and there are no words to describe it but you can accomplish that same thing without putting the animal at great risk of suffering.
There's nothing cool or tough / masculine about not caring whether or not an animal you shoot is forced to suffer.
Yes bows have been used for thousands of years but that doesn't mean we don't have better means now.
