He is also so respectable and loves her in such a secure way he's healthy for her. They choose eachother full on consciously this time, that's the key. The respect of freedom and the respect of one's boundaries is the biggest respect there is between people. And Mal perfectly delivers that.
If we look at her face at the end she wasn't scared and she wasn't confused SHE LOVED IT,I wonder if this means she can control light and darkness now
Oh it would be awesome if she learned how to control both light and darkness she would be unstoppable but maybe that is a bad thing if she turns evil
In the books she learned to control it indeed, trained for it before the big battle, until she lost her powers as a whole to tear down the folt (how is it written, sorry 😂). So I'm happy they didn't take the book route and they're giving Alina the arc she deserves, independence and power, with both light and dark where she learns to tame them both and uses them to do good. The dark you see is the dark she absorbed when she fought the darkling, it's not just because of merzost, in the books that's the explanation or she always had both in her in the series. Either way it's awesome in my opinion and I can't wait to see what season 3 will be like.

she used merzost which moved the will of the king to her.
I believe and have read from other comments that the shadow cut at the end is the price from the merzost being used to being Mal back to life that it’s changed her from light to dark.

The reason why it was shadow at the end was because she used Merzost to bring Mal back. That was the great cost of using it. I’m excited that you’re reading the books. Six of Crows is just amazing it’s a Duology not a Trilogy
Alina used merzotz, so that is why she now has dark magic and her cut was dark (remember what happened to Kirigan after he used it - he created the fold and the Volcra).
If you read the books, you're definitely in for shocker! The show decided to go a different route like no joke it's completely new territory now so it'll be interesting to see where this all goes

Season 2 incorporates the last 2 shadow and bone books (siege and storm + rise and ruin) so if they do do a season 3 it will surpass the shadow and bone books and go into king of scars which is a sequel. We apparently may be getting a six of crows spin-off too 😄 I sure hope so
Wylan's comments about Alby! Sure looks like the "Bo Yul Bayor" job will be on the cards soon, and I personally cannot wait!
The screenwriter says that they are hoping to do both at the same time! First the Six of Crows storyline before the sequel!
Regarding the Matthias dreams of Nina, I'd say it's safe to we don't know lol. They didn't in the book, but the characters are all aged up in the show, and they only showed us a few glimpses of them being stranded. They were out there for months. I kinda took it as they did sleep together maybe, but honestly until they confirm in another season, we don't know. Ppl gotta get it through their heads that not everything is gonna be the same as the books.
i really don’t think it’s real. like i’m almost 100 percent certain. those are meant to be matthias “dreams” of nina they talk about in the books. they just did it while he was awake so it was off. cause in the books he dreams about having sex with her as well as killing her and shit. yk the whole “ Matthias was dreaming of her” also i feel Matthias wouldnt because of his religion
This finale BROKE me scene after scene. I hate watching Ben Barnes die in all his shows 😭 Inej and Kaz still not getting together is frustrating as hell… and can we give my girl Genya a HAPPY ending please?! When she found the ring drawing I was bawling! I hope David is still alive for her sake- no body no death! Also I am soooooooo here for a fling happening between Inej and Tolya, that would be a hot POWER COUPLE for sure 🔥

shadow and bone is a trilogy, six of crows is a duology. there is talk of them doing a six of crows spin off to properly delve into the crows’ plot. also in this season they covered most of the shadow and bone plot from the 2nd and 3rd book, so if there are more seasons they will probably draw on new material, or some of the plot from nikolai’s duology, king of scars

He released her hand, his shoulders bunching, his gaze angry and ashamed as he turned his face to the sea.
Maybe it was because his back was to her that she could finally speak the words. “I will have you without armour, Kaz Brekker. Or I will not have you at all.”
Speak, she begged silently. Give me a reason to stay. For all his selfishness and cruelty, Kaz was still the boy who had saved her. She wanted to believe he was worth saving, too.

What are the numbers? All Ive seen is that it was number 1 on Netflix (on the first day)
@@queenigelkotte Netflix does not care about ranking, it cares about viewing hours. Shadow and Bone season 2 received 50 million viewing hours in its first week which is considered “low” for a second season. For comparison, “outer banks” szn 3 got 150 million viewing hrs in its first week and “You” szn 4 got 93 hrs in its first week. Also shadow and bone season 2 debuted as number 2, not 1, behind “You” season 4 😔. Unless the veiwing hours for BOTH the second and third week go up to about 70-80 million (which is unlikely), it is safe to say that it will be cancelled. Honestly, the only way I see it getting renewed is if the fandom rallies and streams.
@@BooRadley__ I think it will get renewed, cause Netflix was actually hell bent on promoting it(the amount of cast interviews we have already), I guess they may renew it for third and final season where Alina's storyline will wrap up and six of crows would be focused as the next series

Now that the Darkling is dead there is no one to balance the sum summoner. Darkness will grow in Alina until she becomes like Kirigin. Until there's a new sum summoner.

I'm sure they will bring the Darkling back since they will need a way to heal Nikolai. He may also come back as a Sun summoner but just guessing from reading fanfiction. Also, hoping Kaz and Inej still end up together! I freaked when he finally said I want you!

My mom didn't read the books either and she liked this season and its pacing. She now gets the helnik storyline (she didn't got it in season1). She still doesn't like Zoya. Bigger kanej shipper than me. She REALLY likes Nina and Sankta Neyar speeches. Overall she liked it, except for the fact that Mal dump Alina even before the Darkling was burned. She was like 'what do you mean? She just resurrected you, killed the villain and destroyed that fold?' she understands Mal but like 5 mins after everything is over? She was a Darklina. Said that if Alina just chose Kirigan in the first place and whip him into submission, the show was over.
the writers removed so many important (and romantic) darklina scenes bc they didn't want a repeat of s1 (where darklina were more popular than malina) lmao,, the best thing about the books is that despite everything she still feels something towards him (not hatred or what is shown in the show) and that's what makes them enjoyable even though it's toxic. In the show, their saving grace is mainly ben and jessie's chemistry :D

Pretty sure Nina and Matthias slept together in Season 1. Haven't read the books and I don't plan to, but from my understanding of the SHOW, they definitely did.

i’m sorry but book malina would NEVER! alina never wanted to be queen. she wanted a simple life with her best friend. “ they lived an ordinary life , full of ordinary things. if love could ever be called that “
But that is why the show is some much better. As her whole journey is learning to accept being a powerful greisha, that a lot of people rely on and believe in. And once she does accept that and wants to protect and make ravaki better, they remove her powers and identity and then she lives happily ever after with her childhood romance(which lacks a lot of depth and chemistry). Sounds like billshit fan service, much prefer the direction of the show.

@@lilly50821 I get where you are coming from but the ending is forced and unrealistic. Alina went through a lot to destroy the fold, grew enormously and changed in a lot of ways. So it doesn’t make sense for her character by the end of the journey, to just want to abandon all power,identity and responsibility to live with mila in the middle of nowhere. By doing that to her character it makes it cheap and boring, like what was the point in her story if she ended the exact way it started with no real personality or motivational changes. It also unrealistic, as people don’t not change from enormous changes like she experienced.
My culture would call it nephew but I think after a certain amount of removal westerners would call it cousin regardless

-Yes, the Volcras breed, in fact there is a unpleasant scene when Alina and Mal come across a nest inside the folde.
-Jesper is a inept Durast, in this case he would be a nuisance rather than a help in this case, because he doesn't have a good control of his power.
-Yes, the words that Aleksander says are in the book. He asked Alina to burn his corpse because he didn't want his grave to be desecrated.
-I don't understand where David's premature death will take us, since he still has a lot to do and he is an important character, that's a mystery. I really hope he hasn't died.
-I would have liked to see more of Zoya in this season, she and Nikolai are my favorite characters, after The Crows of course.
-Yes Sujaya Dasgupta aka Zoya is a very beautiful woman. I'm a big fan of her.
-In the books the power of Alina and Aleksander has a price, and Alina paid the price, when she destroys The Fold she completely loses her power and she is the one who now has no purpose in life, I'm not a big fan of this twist that they gave her in the show tbh. We'll see how they manage to follow this line.🤷
-And it's with this episode that Netflix divided the fandom, they said that the show would be like a light fanfic, but after this episode we don't know how much more they will Frankenstaining the plots of the books, I want to see more of Zoya, Nikolai and The Crows but I'm not a fond of the direction the producers are giving to this show. We'll see.😕
