I heard in season 2, the crows are going straight into the first book storyline so I believe we’ll get into their backstory

mal was so freaking unlikable in the books, they really made a miracle with him in the show lol
idk I kind of understood why he acted so harshly in the first book, beyond that I don’t really understand why people hate him.

I'm convinced that if the books had chapters from Mal's pov he would be more popular than he is, thats part of why more people like him in the show, we actually get to see him trying to get to Alina

The Six of Crows duology (that Kaz, Jesper and Inej are from) are some of - if not my all time favorite books!! The shadow and bone trilogy is great too! I highly recommend both of them. The Shadow and Bone trilogy come first if you want to read them in chronological order :) This world and these characters are amazing and full of depth and personality
Kazz is one of the best characters I've ever seen, i love him so much

idk about Shadow and Bone (I haven't read those), but I would recommend Six of crows (it's about Kaz, Inej, Jesper, Nina etc.), those books are amazing and from what I have heard, much better than SaB.
I just bought the shadow and bone trilogy. Haha. This show had me interested in reading the trilogy. I might buy the other books too later
I didn't like the shadow and bone the book but the show was so much better. Mal was still boring in both though

Kaz has such a tragic backstory, that I literally cried and sobbed when I read it. I had to take a temporary pause in reading because I couldn't see the text between my tears. It lasted, and I am not kidding, for an entire hour. I am still not over it honestly

It’s not even tragic or anything he fell off a roof.😂
He fell off a roof and his leg broke and it never healed properly.
It’s actually one of the least tragic things about his backstory.
That's probably the tamest thing that's ever happened to him tbh 😭😭

six of crows is literally my favorite book ever
I'm glad you liked Mal, because people who read the books were strongly prejudiced against him, but in the series he is a wonderful character, one of my favorites.

totally agree with the mal x alina relationship/friendship thing. It's nice to see that the care they have for each other is genuine and not based on whether or not they are attracted to each other. There's a big "maybe" on their relationship status and it's believable without being annoying

I've read the books for both Shadow and Bone (Alina and Mal) and Crooked Kingdom (Kaz and the crows) and I love how this show smushes them together, they did such a good job and I really hope you do more of these videos, seeing you react to it for the first time made me so happy!!

Even if you don't watch the whole thing on the channel, I definitely recommend at least the second episode for the introduction of General Kirigan (played by Ben Barnes). And you should definitely watch the whole show at least for yourselves, its really fun and they're already filming season 2.
This makes me wanna rewatch the show. I enjoyed it the first time, it kept my attention which is hard to do.
