Her betrayal in book 2 was more redeemable because she was doing it all for him, she was blackmailed. In the films this isnt the plot and it makes her a douche. But then reading the Fever Code (origin story) she didn something awful, and i hated her again.

So basically she and Thomas were both special at W.I.C.K.E.D, and they helped design the mazes and the Grievers, and sent people into the mazes with their memories wiped. Then, when it was their turn to enter the maze for the next experiment, she and thomas promised to have their memories wiped like other contestants. Teresa let Thomas get his memory wiped, and sent him into the maze, but she herself chose not to get it done. Meaning throughout the whole trilogy she knew exactly what was going on, who everyone was, and what the dangers were, but still let her past almost-boyfriend, and friends be killed walk into danger for W.I.C.K.E.D. She knew everything, and decieved them all, and if she'd told them everything she knew, there's an almost 100% guarantee they'd all have survived.

In the book, Teresa and Aris pretend to be in love so Thomas feels betrayed for the “paterns”. They were both told wicked would kill Thomas if they wouldn’t do it. They threw Thomas through a flat trans and he was put to sleep for lik 5-10 mins then he left and Teresa explained everything and apologized. She did everything to help their cause in the end. But she was barely ever seen in the books so it was kind of confusing.

I understand why a lot of people hate teresa in the movies but in the books she didn’t work for WICKED but instead she had to do something to Thomas because they said they would kill him if she didn’t and then she apologised and she worked with him again but he still didn’t like her. I find it different how in the books Thomas is the one who doesn’t want to forgive her when she wasn’t in the wrong but in the movies she actually betrayed him. (Btw I haven’t read The Scorch Trails for ages so I can’t remember it exactly but I know the general idea of it)

the first one was the most accurate to the books and this one was the least. It wasn't bad, but as someone who read the books it kinda made me sad to see how much they changed it.
Yeah, that's why I don't like this movie. I guess it could be good in it's own, I was so disappointed because like you said, the first one was such a good book adaptation but this one just... no.
OH MY GOD SAME!!!! They missed SO MANY huge things in the books and coming from someone who read them and had to sit in the theater super excited to finally see it in action, I was honestly pretty disappointed and didn't even really understand where they were going with scorch trials. All in all though, the cast was amazing, acting was amazing and the scenery was great, how they changed it all up though ruined it for me.
