Season 2 completely blows the first one out of the water, if you ask me. Incredible performances, amazing world building, plot twist after plot twist, intensely romantic moments ( *cough cough* kanej *cough* ) , beautiful set design and costumes and a LOT more conflict. The characters' personalities are also a lot more loyal to what they were originally meant to be so I'm excited to see how you guys like it in comparison to the first season! I feel like it be summarized in a single sentence from the first Six of Crows book; 'Kaz Brekker was gone, and Dirtyhands had come to see the rough work done.' Can't wait!

The Crows are the best characters. I love them. You really should consider reading the books tho, the Crows are not in the first shadow and bone book unfortunately but they have their own book series. Unfortunately Genya is not a healer, she changes physical appearance, she is a Tailor, not a Healer. Also they revealed earlier that the stronger the Grisha the longer they live, so the Darkling has been alive for hundreds of years and he believes because Alina is as strong as him, maybe stronger that it wont matter, she will live for much longer than Mal will and that she will eventually realize that he is the only one who can match with her power.
Something I wish they showed in the show was inej had anxiety and before any job or when she got anxious she named all her knives and repeated the names just a small detail I would have loved to

honestly, the show is better than the book to me. i only read the first book and really disliked it, it was quite slow-paced and the language was overly confusing for no reason. The show was definitely easier to follow overall.
