Swim baits don’t work to well out here it’s a hit and miss with it go with your dad’s method soak some bait use the fish finder rig style sinker slider and leader line to a hook thanks for stopping by my channel

Yes but due to not having too many fishing parking spots most Shad fishing is done at Freeport miller park discovery park American river and Verona marina area produces much more fish

fly fishing is much easier.... tie a shad fly to your leader, no weights etc..and cast away but for hardware folks, great video

They average over 2-3 lbs and having a few that 5 or 6 lbs mixed in isn't uncommon, so 25 fish is A LOT of fish!

I don’t know the size but it’s the Shad darts sold at every bait store in Sacramento I’ve only seen one size

None in the stores also just come down and catch some it’s easy most of the people come from the Bay Area to fish these

Do you cast and reel in ? I went shad fishing with a friend caught 8 in a hour from boat .

You can put a rubber grub or just leave it as is you do not need to put anything and you will still catch
