    Tie a loop knot for your dropper weight section,so you can change size without tying all the time. Great video keep them coming.

    Thanks. I just moved to Cali recently from the Midwest and that second rig is what a lot of people told me to use, we were just bottom bouncing them from a bridge on the American river like you would for cats or walleye

    explained in great detail. By the movement of the hands, it is immediately clear that we have an experienced coach in front of us.

    Beads in between the egg sinker and swivel helps with the knotting.

    Hey, boss! Been lovin' your videos! I know you've uploaded this hella time ago but in case you can still see this, what time of year was this? Also, do you think these shad are really there all year or did you catch em' during migration? I live in the Bay Area but I come from tropical Mexico where fishing is different. I've only recently begun getting into fishing really hard here. I've been having hella fun but still getting the hang of it and the species! Back home we don't have these shad. We have another type called Pacific Gizzard Shad which is a ton smaller and so much harder to catch without a cast-net since those are filter-feeders of plant matter. Thanks, man!

      What’s up man, thanks for the view and comment. These American Shad are only here during the Shad run. This is usually around spring time when they run through, and they run through super thick. We also have threadfin Shad, but those are only a few inches long. The American Shad are super fun to catch on light gear.

    What kind of fishing pole are you using bro and what size?

    • @portalmasterry6765
      @portalmasterry6765 Před 3 měsíci

      Use a pole that is as comfy and as light as you want. Keep in mind the females can average 3-5lbs. I use a 7ft $15 shakepheare ultralight rod from Walmart with a $200 Procyon reel lol. The rod you need to use should be comfy that you can cast 100's of times without getting too tired since you end up fishing for it multiple times and certain times the fishing can be tough and you don't want to get too tired constantly casting.

    Off topic, but when you use the Senko for trout, you mentioned cutting it in half. Does that mean you make use of both ends, the skinny and fat side?
