Cancelo has been magnificent for Barcelona, and hopefully he stays for at least another year. His biggest issue at previous clubs is playing time and we don't have anyone else. 🤕

Unpopular opinion but I think Cancelo has a *bit* of a point. There's been a few negative stories about his relationship with Pep particularly his "bad body language" and hints about not being a team player. After the trophies he won and being such a key part of the system being off-loaded desperately without any fanfare or thanks has got to sting especially when seemingly being bad mouthed so obviously. That being said he got to go to a great club and City didn't force a fee paying move. Could be worse.
Also Pep is kinda notorious for being bad at managing players when he decides he doesn't want them

Cancelo has been one of the nicest people on the Barca team right now and he’s been great, we all love him, something bad happened probably, but none of that toxicity has appeared at all

For as long as I can remember, Cancelo had the reputation of being both a very good attacking wingback and very professional, but also a COLOSSAL asshole, which can mean a lot of different things to different people: he might be a prick, he might too outspoken, might not get along others, might be one of those persons who are extremely frontal and don't hold words, etc, but yeah, those stories have been around him since he started being noticed, so I don't think anyone other than the homers in local media who think their favourite players are all saints who are great to have around were that surprised to hear he and Guardiola (who also has some stories of his own) eventually had a falling out.

The bottom line was- cancelo flopped at inter, juve and city. Guardiola decided to try a different system,told cancelo he could stay or leave in the summer of 2022,cancelo initially was professional and wanted to try and regain his spot, didn't, specially after a loss to Liverpool, where he had a bust up with guardiola, there was division in the locker room,but when he left , city were massively better to the point of cutting a 12pt gap in the epl and won the treble,vs bayern ,where, oh surprise, cancelo immediately had a bust up with tuchel.
The ego on cancelo was probably part of his issues. Also him saying he never lies is such a red flag because it’s simply not true

There were lots of reports before he was loaned out last season that he kicked off at Pep during training and got in a huge argument, so Pep loaned him out. Also funny how he said he went to a club that wanted him yet they proceeded to not buy him after the loan

A few days ago a young and talented player on loan to the team I support said in an interview that he will be back to its club in summer (as the contract dictates) and then he will see what's gonna happen. The media spun that phrase in so many ways "oh he doesn't like the club he is in now, he's ungrateful, they can't afford him next year etc..."

Portugal were playing a much weaker side. They let 8 of their players go on vacation to help them recover physically from a hard season, they want to avoid injuries so close to the Euros and they're not risking anything on friendlies.
Portuguese here. Since this morning, I had an off belief that Portugal wouldn’t win against Slovenia, and when I saw that miserable lineup of ours I doubted even more. Reality is that Portuguese national time is way past its prime because nowadays you have (apparently) big names in the game (which are severely overrated btw) and yet our coach (and the one before) always seem to forget that only 11 players play. The team is unconnected, unbalanced, has no personality and Ronaldo isn’t probably helping. I think it’s about time to discard quantity over quality. I must say, I’m very curious about Slovenia. Congrats on your victory today and I’m hoping that your journey in the euro will be lasting. If we meet amidst the tournament I hope Portugal avenges this match. Love from Portugal 🇵🇹!!

@@lfmm97 i mean that side should still beat us but i will give you that the attack could have been a lot stronger cause Felix and Ronaldo just cant do it up front, but look against smaller weaker opponents portugal dominate but against teams who just let them have the ball and counter on the break they seem to struggle.
@@pheonixblue9434 I think Slovenia are a good team, I wasn't that surprised that they beat this Portugal side. Portugal really never looked like they had a chance in this match, their first shot on target was beyond the 70th minute I believe, and in that manner I was impressed with Slovenia because this match was way tougher than Portugal themselves thought it was gonna be. And yes you are correct, this game was quite similar to Portugal vs Morocco in the World Cup, except that Slovenia were even more clinical in the finishing.
If Portugal had played their first team, especially in a competitive match setting, I think the result would have been different but not necessarily easy. Slovenia's play style will always be more difficult for Portugal than against teams like Sweden for example. In my first comment I maybe sounded a little harsh, and I don't want to take anything away from Slovenia. You played well, it was a good result and well deserved.

Pep didn't just decide he didn't want him anymore. Cancelo had a dip in form from the wc up untill he left. When he returned from the wc the city team also hit a bad run of form and cancelo was one of the worse performers. He then got replaced by Rico and immediately the reports of a bust up came out. Great player but it's been several clubs now that he has reportedly had attitude problems
