Really never heard of stevie Ray Vaughan, this ought to be interesting, yes right from the start good, real good, damn like it ten seconds in, oh damn when he started singing, wow, this is nice, I can get into this, this sounds so familiar, blues, that's what I couldn't remember, wow, never thought I would like this I'm shocked, mind blown, this is awesome, definitely coming back, going to have to turn everything off and chill, didn't have to sing, nice touch, lol lol behind his back wow, I'm done, 😮😮😮, stanging ovation definitely, yes can't talk, just WOW, thanks.

      Time keeps on ticking...
I agree with all the accolades below about Stevie. He was a force of nature. NOBODY hammered the frets like Stevie.
But the 70's had a lot of great guitar heroes and I was blessed. Here are a couple and my first rock concert:
May 19, 1973 East Tennessee State University
      Rory Gallagher - ZZ Top
      4 dollars
It was about two months before ZZ Top's Tres Hombres album came out. (Dusty Hill's 24th birthday, I came to find out on his passing) It was Festival Seating and I managed to get about 15 feet from mic center. Rory Gallagher was pure fire right out of the gate, and his band was phenomenal. (particularly Lou Martin on his electric piano) Rory was amazing to see play and I think that he had as much fun as anyone. Then, Billy Gibbons and the boys came out. Back when they were the most badass blues rock band that ever was. Straw hats, jeans, no beards (but Frank. lol), and BG in a white tshirt w/ pack of Marlboros rolled up in the sleeve(lol). Needless to say, Rory and Billy made a big impression on a 16 yr old. Blues rock, slide guitar nut ever since.
RIP Rory, Rod, Lou, & Dusty. Thank You!
Keep Rockin' Billy, Frank, & Gerry
Rory Gallagher - Bullfrog Blues 1972

ZZ TOP - Fool For Your Stockings & Nasty Dogs and Funky Kings

Oh, there are definitely better players with technicalities... but NOBODY has SRV's stage presence and ability to play off-the-cuff live. Listen to his studio recordings and then listen to him live. A lot of his live playing is the basic outline of the song, but improvised heavily around it. If you listen to his live performances of the same song, too, they never sound exactly the same, but are also incredible.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was a blues rock artist from Oak Cliff Texas sadly we lost him on August 27, 1990 in a helicopter crash he was only 37 but he was a Blues legend. He played a guitar like no one else the music just flows out of him . Fun fact he never played the song the same way twice he would always change a little something. You can’t go wrong with Stevie BUT when you react to him it has to be live so you can watch all the magic

@@MrGlastar1 GTFOH, "borrowed" the style my azz! It's no mystery Jimi was definitely a big influence on Stevie. But, you can't borrow a style from the way Hendrix, SRV, Moore, etc... play the guitar. IT's a feeling that comes from deep down in the heart & soul in players you can't teach, borrow or buy which separates them from the rest. You either have IT or you don't, period. And that's what he still gives us, joy to listen to and love always. His sound is magical and healing, he's helped so many people and they know it. "Life Without You", Capital Theatre. Its not a mixture of blues and rock. Its just some folks don't know how much blues rocks. All these rock legends were inspired by blues players. For many of them, (not SRV), rock didn't even exist when they were learning to play. Jimmy Page had to invent hard rock, to be known for playing it, as one example.

The best ever! No changing my mind. That wasn't just a guitar, it was an extension of the man.
    Stevie Ray got cheated. RIP.
I hope he is jamming for my mom in the afterlife, she was in love with him and her heart was broken when he died.
This was a great reaction. Looked like you could feel every note. He could make you feel it.

It’s great to see someone hear or see SRV for the first time it usually blows people away although Stevie’s style of the blues isn’t for everyone especially todays youth most of them don’t listen to music anymore…at least not good music 🤣🤣…just sit back and watch him master that Stratocaster ✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼

There will only ever be one Stevie, and one Jimmie, but I'd suggest checking out BAND-MAID (AKA Bandmaid) - the live "Hate?" from their 10th anniversay tour being a good example!
Yes, Stevie's vocals are very much over-looked in the face of his guitar skills. Hid duet with Johnie Copeland on "Tinpan Alley" is even better, IMO, as it also shows of his vibrato better!
