As a medical examiner I recommend this before you file and claim and before coming for C&P exam.
    1. Have an incident which happened while in service.
    2. Have a diagnosis with an ICD code for that problem.
    3. Have diagnostic testing to prove you have the condition.
    4. Show CHRONICITY of the indident along the years ( you had the problem, went to the doctor for check ups, treatments, show proof of diagnostic tests).
VA is asking us ( medical examiners) specific questions in regards to all of the above.
    I hope it helps. 😊

I'm annoyed, I described my foot pain in military service was annoying (of course the pain was getting worse, and its horrible now) like when a kid's feet is uncomfortable because of all the walking through the mall. My doc put in the report "i had foot pain since childhood..." please help D:

I dealt with all that and the fact the military lost my medical records after retiring with 37 years!
It took meeting another vet that was successful and combine that with the new status of my combat deplaoyments, after a year, I have a 60% rating.
    Never give up.
My advocate at the VFW has been super helpful and I recommend.
I still have my back (bad L3-L4, operation, 3 bulging discs, 28 jumps) to go back to and hope to get up to a 70% for a couple reasons.
    I am not pursuing a 100% because I don't feel I am.
But I hurt and this really was a boost.
Fortunately, after my last combat deployment in the early 2000's, they printed out all my military injuries before my records were lost.
    Never give up!

The VA needs more accountability and transparency. There's absolutely no reason why this process should be this complex other than they are making it this way to save money. Money that we're busy giving away to other countries that could be spent taking care of those who took care of this country.

I filed a supplemental claim for increase. I submitted an updated DBQ and progress notes from the nurse practitioner. Va schedule me a c and p. The rater left instructions for the examiner to refute and give med. Opinion against my evidence. My VA rep informed me. I reschedule the c and p and called 800 number and stated CFR 38 4.23 attitude of Rating Officer. My rep advised there been activity but no response

Hey WillieHarvey, I would send a letter to the VA OIG and title it as “Referral of Misconduct of a VA Official.” Copy the Regional VA HMFIC, the VA Secretary, your congressman, and the oversight chair of VA disability compensation benefits (if there is one). This is unacceptable. I get so upset when I read stories like yours. It’s not bad enough that we have to suffer lifelong injuries, no, we have to beg and fight to get compensation, which we are entitled to, for our sacrifices. I wish you good health and strength to fight. Don’t ever give up!

Is it a bad idea to have private doctor do mental disorder dbq if I have no in service treatment record for anxiety and depression? I have active diagnoses, therapy notes, and will get a nexus that will say its likely related, my personal statement, and statement from two family members that lives with me. A therapist I regularly see who works under my doctor will also write a statement. I also have depression, anxiety, and sleep medication.

Plus I prefilled a year before. Last week I got over 100k in back pay .

@@johnneill5960 On the part of the dbq that ask if the doctor (psychiatrist in my case) reviewed medical records or evidence, does he put "other", if the only evidence I have is personal statement, family statement, master-degree level therapist statement/notes? Note that the therapist I've been seeing for over a year is the person who connected me with the psychiatrist, once she got a job working under him. So basically she has a year worth of treating me before she worked under my psychiatrist. So can the psychiatrist use that as the records he reviewed?

@@aj_nyc she or he needs to review at least your personal medical for a strong case as I did with mine , & if possible ( wasn’t with me ) military records . I got out 30 years ago so it wasn’t possible. I also wanna add if you were in the Gulf war A/O & or the GWOT & have any illnesses apply for PACT act . I got 100 percent PTSD , 50 for migraines, 40 for Chronic Fatigue syndrome, 10 for IBS . Everything I applied for got approved but it took almost 2 years since I prefilled . You need to prefile asap because you only have until Aug 14 to get back pay on PACT act related stuff .

Question, my therapist is a master degree level therapist, who has done majority of my therapy and notes. She works under a psychiatrist. They have a relationshio where she fills out paperwork for him and he just signs off on it if he agrees, as if he did the paperwork himself. My therapit said she will write the nexus and do the private dbq and he will just sign off on it. Is that a good idea when it comes to nexus and dbq being filled out by a non-doctor who works under the doctor? As long as the doctor signs off on it is it fine?

Ukraine is an ally. What would make you say it’s not? It’s not a NATO member but plans to be it borders NATO countries and also plans on joining the European Union so how does that make it not an ally? Women children, and old people in Ukraine are being murderedby a brutal ruthless dictator. Why do you feel the need to use them in comparison to our VA disability? As far as I know, we are the only country that pays our veterans tax-free disability for life. So Veterans are definitely taken care of in this country.
