Good morning, I wanting will applying for disability for my back effect undeployablitiy?
Your video on back pain truly helped me score a rating of 60 %. I was truly lucky to stumble upon your video.Thank you
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! By this video alone, I went into two C&P exams and finally got over the hump 100%!!! Actually, I got 40% for my lower lumbar-DDD, 20%X4 for radiculopathy sciatic and femoral nerve L and R (20% each) totaling 100%!!!! I will pass on the video to fellow Vets in the same rut I was in. THANK YOU!! SEMPER FIDELIS!!
Followed Jordans advice and got 40% for back. You guys are a blessing for vets.
I've watched this video and your other one from a few months ago. I had my C&P Exam last week and followed your guidance exactly for all my applicable symptoms. I already had 20 years worth of doctor's visits, xrays, diagnosis exams, and an MRI. The examiner was very knowkedgeable and understanding. She told me my condition was well-established and it was something I would have forever. It was not going to get any better with time. If you had not given guidance to mention all my symptoms, I would have left a bunch out and probably would have pushed through the pain. Now waiting patiently for my rating. I'm already at 60% for a TBI, scar, and migraines. I'll keep you posted!
any updates on your claim? I am currently awaiting my back C&P as i found out i have herniated discs.
@@carloscamacho8729 I'm now at 80% but, although the VA found that I do have degenerative disc disease, they denied my claim as service connected. Going to appeal it as I have a qualifying injury. The VA is very infuriating at times. I still have other claims being evaluated - next C&P is this Thursday.
Any updates
@@alexdonaldson7943 At 94% now and about to go to 100%. VA is paying for a full hip replacement. That will put me at 100% forever. Thank you to this incredible channel for all the info!
Thank you Jordan for doing God’s work. You and my American Legion VSO This specific video helped me get to my 100% VA Disabled. I retired in 2004 and was stuck on 20% until about 2020 when I met my VSO. Then I was stuck on 90% until I started watching your videos (and Combat Craig’s too).Yes, you have done more for my family and me than any out there. Sadly, not even fellow Vets are as helpful. I watched your other videos and many other videos out there but your back pain videos helped me to get to 100%. Your teachings on 1) stopping when you feel pain, 2) me telling the C&P Examiner about my bilateral radiculopathy, and my 3) Personal Statement I feel contributed to my 100% rating today. Thank you! Thank you! God bless! Stay the course! Vets - help out please! Share the word. Count on me!
Sorry to hear that brother. It was a fellow battle of mine who told me to go get seen for an increase afyer 8 years of being underated. Happy to say 100% p& t now
Chat gpt will draft you a generic letter as well. It's quite helpful.😊
When I started this process back in July 2023 I started watching this guys videos. He always says to educate yourself before you start your filing through the VA. He is correct trust me. I just received my 100% P&T last week. Did all the paperwork and lay statements myself with no help except youtube videos. It can be done. Be patient!
How long did it take for you to get the full 100 percent? Did you buy his training course?
Nope, I just started watching his and other guys videos and did all the filing myself. Do personal statements for every claim and get buddy statements if possible. Took eight months from start to finish. Do you research and don't get discouraged.
Thanks for your advice! I had a C and P exam for Bronchitis, and the had me re blow, until they got their result they were happy with, but it made me so dizzy to drive an hour and a half home! Go to helll, Qtc Eugene Oregon!!! I should have stopped when I was extremely overdoing my physical abilities! They kept coaxing, "Harder, Harder, Harder!!!!" I felt deflated and dizzy! They were like, "You can leave now!!!!" You're a bug, an insect i.e. a fly, to these people!
Thank you! My 10 year battle with the VA is finally over… I got what I deserved thanks to your guidance. I was denied back, and neck time and time again… falling prey to c&p examiners who told me to move past my pain points and were lying to me and not using their measuring tool.
Jordan, you've talked about NECK before, but didn't go into what they measure, etc for that test. Could you do that on an upcoming video?
Thanks Jordan, for this valuable video.
Thanks Jordan!
Awesome video. I learned a lot and now I know.
Thank you. Your video helps
Nice video bro...i hope vets are paying attention...i watched your video similar to this a few months back and im awaiting a decision any day now!
Knowledge is power
Yeah! Another back vid! I go for my back in a couple of weeks. I already went for my neck.
Wonderful Sir!!
Your bureaucracy comment is absolutely spot on!
Thanks Jordan, we really appreciate you 🙏🏾
I second that emotion. Jordan is a great and smart dude!! Can you help vets out of the country( I.e. Philippines, ect.) like myself?? All be blessed, safe, healthy, happy, prosperous, aware, smart, and great(compassionate). Real talk and Nuff Said!! ❤😂
Very valuable information! Keep up the good work!!
Cheers Balkiswalker3734!
Wonderful video
Wish I had run across your videos before I filed my initial claims in Mar 23. Already got 20% for my back and 10% for bone spurs in my foot. I think i could have gotten more for my back cause i did push thru pain during my ROM and didnt know about the numbness and tingling. Still waiting on some more major issues which should push me over 100%. If not Ill file a claim for more back pain and the numbness and tingling with my back and do some nexus for other ptoblems that were denied. Thanks for your vids and your service. I recommend your channel to all the vets I know and even a few active duty folks to get their aches and pains documented before they leave service.
I know what you mean. We too was at a loss
Thanks
Game changer!
I just head an exam bye QTC doctor for R/S Hernia and during my exam the doctor tested both my knees for reflex and no movement which is DX as Bilateral Radiculopathy
Just went to my C and P exam yesterday for an increase for lower back pain, radiculopathy, took about 45 minutes, the nurse practitioner was very thorough. Very empathetic and professional. I should find out by the end of this month on the results.
Did you get an answer?

So I put back pain as the claim conditions? I have the documented bulging disk and the radiculopathy and I have a rating service connected.
SO thankful I saw this before my appointment today lol
I hope your last minute studying paid off!
@@vaclaimsacademy I’ll know in a couple months, but your video certainly helped!
My examiner did not use the measurement device. I stopped when I felt pain but because my spine is so screwed up I could not move much anyway barely.
I’m having frequent back pains but since I’m maxed out I can’t put in for a claim. My back pains is coming from my mild Arthritis and my mild Scoliosis .
Bravo hooah
can't thank you enough i screwed up my c&p exam and i'm mad that really im in so much pain that i got tossed from ied and was sent to the hospital and they still denied me and im so much pain because c&p screwed me big time now i have to wait for another 6 months till my next decision
My exam is tomorrow. How did they screw you?
I have TONS of medical evidence for back pain. Just no diagnosis. What do I do?
what about back pain as secondary to knee va rating of 10% each knee
They did this test on me
What if all i have to service connect is an old dr note that states low back pain and put on light duty. Is that enough to service connect?
Would I need a nexus letter for ankylosing spondylitis caused by plantar fasciitis if I was only seen and treated by VA physicians?
may be a stupid question, but how can I get a private doctor where do you recommend me to go?
Anyone please feel free to answer, but I'm in the process for going for my back and sciatica in my legs but the only thing i have on my service records is my lower extremities with the last one being numbness and tingling in legs. Would doing a statement saying that due to my MOS( INFANTRY) wearing rucks, body armor, going on ruck marches and multiple combat deployments help with service connection? For my back that is.
What about anchylosis spondylitis?
I’m still in just had an MRI. 3 buldging discs and 1 herniated with mild stenosis. Only reason we had the mri is because I had an incapacitating episode. So just curious how this is going to go
Just saw this newer video. How do I submit to VA the BL if I already have a rating 40% and CnP completed? Back issue was diagnosed in service.
What do you mean by diagnosed? Is it not enough if you were seen at medical for your ailments?
What if you dont have to bend at all to feel pain?
Will a letter from a chiropractor suffice as a nexus letter? My back is jacked and it’s in my medical file as “back pain” from years ago. I’ve been dealing with sciatica and lower back pain that causes numbness and tingling tingling when I lean forward past a certain degree. Getting out of bed and my car is an issue for me. I’m going to sick call in the morning to make sure my lower lumbar strain and sciatica is reflected as a diagnosis instead of just a “back pain” diagnosis. What are your thoughts on the nexus letter from a chiropractor? I’ve been paying out of pocket for several chiropractors over the years too. I want to make sure I capture that fact during my sick call visit.
I am at 60%. My primary doctor is a VA doctor should I ask him to fill out the nexus letter?
Does a diagnosis from a Chiropractor work?
So what if you have tingling in your feet but you don’t have them at that moment?
So if I have 40% for lower back, and 20% for radiculopathy, if I can document radiculopathy in my other leg that adds another 20% then doubles?!?!
Good information to think about... Can a nexus letter be completed after I submit an updated claim with VA and brought with me to the scheduled C&P exam? I do not have a regular doctor and a new doctor is relucant to complete a nexus letter and wants to send me to a specialist for each claim item....
I had ROM measured forward, backward and side to side. Three times.
Same. I went past pain. The dr noted I went past pain and was complaining of pain but he also noted that I went full range of motion. This sucks the way they rate disabilities because we don’t know. I start looking about how they measure disabilities and moving accordingly. I’m freaking hurt for doing their bidding with loyalty and they don’t care
@seralaltidor370 I just had a C&P for my back on 6/5. My examiner was awesome. She told me that she didn't want me to hurt myself, so just stop when I start feeling pain or discomfort.. Some do try to help vets, others just don't give a damn..
Im at 80% right now can adding back pain bring me to 100%.. I also have service connected knee pain and planar fascitus.
Does going to sick call count as sufficient medical evidence?
Hi Jordan, if my husband had diagnosis when he was in the service, does he still need Nexus Letter?
Is it smart to get a diagnosis from the va clinic\doctor?
I wish I knew more about this when my husband filed for his back injury. I was not made aware of any of this at the time.
We went into it very blindly , now I'm learning more and more thanks to you all.
He onto 20% for his severe back injury no pain rating. I, his wife is trying my best to help him and care for him. I just don't know what to do next.
Can that be done all at the c&p? Meaning the diagnosis to include the place of a nexus letter?
Where do I upload my nexus letter?
Do I need a Nexus letter if I file my claim if I am still in the Army National Guard? I just got back from a combat deployment and it has not been a year since I got diagnosed?
8:18 Good Afternoon I was denied my claim for back pain I think I did it wrong I had aTRK in 2017 finally got service connected in 2020 30% went for an increase this year I have groin and numbness in right side my question will back pain be secondary I need you help please to re-file maybe I have a claim on hold now I need to finish 🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
I was in the Air National Guard and sustained a back injury while on AT. I responded to the hospital and was treated. When I requested my medical records the back injury was not included but someone else’s back injury was. How do I fight this?
Nice video. I went in for lower back, C&P, got denied. Had a nexus, MRI, letters. Did a ROM, pain as soon as I tried to move, still got denied. Dang… back to the drawing board.
What was the denial reason? Did they even say?
They said "although your STR's say you had the injury while in service, because of 30 years has past".....@@boknows3915
can a chiropractor do a nexus letter
Had a C&P exam in April of 23 and i pushed pass the pain mark and didnt use the measuring tool. Is it too late to have another C&P exam?
i'm connected for back pain at 20; if I file for an increase can the VA take away my service connection altogether?
and claim numbing both legs as well but would that be secondary or direct connection?
I know they can come back with a decreased rating but can service connection once granted be taken away?
What documentation states that radiculopathy is guaranteed 20%?
I’m confused, I thought joint/back pain aren’t presumptive conditions therefore even if its within one year of separation you will still need a nexus letter. Can you confirm?
My Nexus got denied because VA said there was not any medical literature
Going for my C&P exam in 5 days,..im taking your advice,..will see what happens.
Hey how did you exam go? I’m going the 29th
Any update??
How did it go?
It didn't go,..got nothing 0%
@@spindog9600 Damn!!
Can you have more than one nexus letter ?
I got 40% for back and 10% instead of 20% bilateral radiculopathy for legs. Also got 30 for cervical and 20 bilateral radiculopathy for arms. Had a separate c&p exam for Depression, but was denied. What happened?
So I went to sick call twice for back pain. They wrote it down as overuse syndrome. Now a VA pain specialist diagnosed me with DDD, lumbar disc displacement, bilateral lumbar radiculopathy, and bilateral lumbar facet joint syndrome. What are the steps to file?
Forgot that a vso filed a claim for my back and was denied. I also had in service records of migraines and was also denied. That's why I don't use vso anymore
From past experienced, I used VSO first time I filed and got denied. So basically you need to file it on your own. Gather all your medical records including military records and civilian. Do not leave anything behind make sure you send everything to the VA when filing because if they’re missing a single thing they will used that to deny your claim. Also a personal statement will help you a lot. And also you might want to look at the denial letter on why you got denied it should tell you why you got denied and it will tell you what you need to do. Good luck👍🏼
Can my airborne status (wings, jump log, etc.) be my nexus? With my personal statement of course.
Hey I hope you are able to read this , I’m currently getting separated, medically retired , with a proposed rating of 90% I already have diagnosis for back problems from my job but the doctor that did my c and p exam gave me a 0% for migraines and a 10 percent for my back even tho he didn’t use the tool to measure . I want to fight for an increase as I am still active duty for another 40 days but I was told I could also lose other ratings if I do. Any ideas?
These people need to stop telling vets this nonsense. I’m 100% for overa year now and I have 3 appeals in the system.
People who scared of getting reduced are those lying about claims. If they call you in to get checked, it’s easy. I’m still the same symptoms didn’t change, I’m still hurting. Also, if you got just enough to get to 100%, then if you get 10% taken away you will be affected. I’m so far beyond 100, they can take away 70% and i will still be 100.
Anyway, file your claims and don’t worry about getting reduced.
The Dr from your C&P exams don't give you your rating, the VA does. If you did your exam without the goniometer, the tool they use to measure you with, then you need to get another exam with someone that will use it. How are they going to measure your angle without it?
Does cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic pain support or hinder a claim for back pain? My husband thinks it would hinder the claim because CBT indicates that “it’s all in your head”
Tell him to look into somatic symptom disorder. This can exacerbate pain throughout the body. It’s a ratable condition
The VA constantly denied me until I did a deep dive into my medical history over the last 30 years, and gathered all the data, then submitted that for a Nexus letter. Now that I have the Nexus and 4 months wait, the VA finally is sending me to my first exam. Should I take the nexus letter with me to my exam?
if I am going to medical currently active duty, will I ever get "diagnosed"? ive been going to the doctor for it for months now.
Be your own advocate with the doctor you are seeing. Don’t be afraid to ask the doctor what his/her thoughts are and what their diagnosis is. If you know them well, don’t be afraid to tell them you need help getting everything documented.
Great info. Would you be able to do a do's and dont's video for us that are still in service? I have 2yrs til retirement, but afraid to go to medical for most of my conditions.. thanks
2 years left till retirement. Congrats!. I hope you get to join the 100% club with us. All you need is to start complaining about what you plan to file. I forgot to complain about stuff when i was in the Marine Corps except for my back when i was deployed but was still able to get to 100% by myself, no vso, lawyers etc. The VA still taking about my back not service connected lol, I’m still appealing that nonsense.
My STR states that I have "Chronic Lower Back Pain." So if I heard you correctly, I don't need a NEXUS letter for my claim. I should note I retired 29 years ago.
That's ok,you did the right thing by filing, what do you have to lose, hang tough
Waiting on rating bilateral knee issue cause lower back pain. Do I need a nexus if the knee are service connected. Had C&P last week. ROM was all done.
@@cdperry65no nexus required if it’s secondary, usually if the doc at the C&P believe you they will make the connection . Are you close to the hundo club yet?

Hope he answers this
I hope so too
I was only given 10% on my left leg for it. I filed for an increase on my back
Thank you Jordan. So in listening, I will need a Nexus since I have been out of the military for more than 1 year. I have filed my claim. In waiting, should I go ahead and get the Nexus letter? Or should I have filed this at the time I submitted my paperwork to my VSO? I only wrote a statement in support of claim and included with it any pertaining logs. Thanks for helping the brethren. Is this an initial claim or were you denied?
@@teeybannister it’s an initial claim. Just wondering what I need to be doing in the meantime as my claims are being processed.
@@dawidbenyahudahisrael6959 if it’s your initial claim, a nexus letting isn’t required. Now you will have to make sure when you go to the C&P exam make you explain your disability happened IN service. Are you rated for anything at all?

How did it go?
Granted 60%, however my individual ratings add to 80%. I had another C&P exam this past Thursday, through VES. I'm waiting for results, FOIA requested.
@rashadbell403 I went to a C&P back in March. After I sent in my Nexus, the VA sent me to another one for the same exam that you went to last week. My examiner told me to just bend until I felt pain. We'll see what the VA decides in about 3 to 4 months..

Okay I have 20% already for back. If I want to get an increase will I need just a personal statement to file for increase ? Then mention sciatica at the C &P exam ?
You need new evidence if within 1 year of the claim approval. Anything new, including personal or buddy statements, can be submitted. A C&P is sometimes required. I got IBS from 10-30% with a personal statement. No C&P required.
@@TheJetbreaker I got a Note from the VA describing my Sciatica, so I hope that’s enough including personal letter.

How do I make these claims if I have about 6 months left in service and plan on getting out?
On VA.gov website. Where it says , “ file a claim “
Go see your primary care Dr or the base ER and tell them what's wrong with you so you can get them documented.
I have bilateral radiculapathy. I got 10% for each. Although the information is good, you need to stop speaking in absolutes because nothing is. The VA uses people not rating machines to judge your disability claim. If that person’s opinion isn’t equal to you getting 20%, you won’t get 20%.
I had a nexus letter from my pain management doctor and I was denied. I currently have a rating of 70%
What was your MOS?
