    So I’ve programmed quite a few Volvos. Cause we are a certified Volvo collision repair shop. And I like vida, but the cost of software reloads can be ridiculous. We spent 300 and some change on software reloads, and insurance didn’t want to pay us. Lol but I will they would change the pricing structure lol. Also I noticed towards the end you had a 12v charging system fault. Idk if it’s cause the codes aren’t cleared yet, but I had that and it was the relay/charging switch that switch between the auxiliary battery and the battery in the trunk that ended up being bad. But very good video and awesome info 🙌💯💯

      Hi, Yes Volvos are pricey, they charge the same software charge for their own dealership franchise,
      The vida diagnostic and programming software is really unique, The battery voltage light was on when I first started the vehicle then the message disappeared, The car has been sitting for many months since the crash waiting for parts,
      The only permanent diagnostic code I cannot erase was the battery for the sos System apparently the Volvo OnStar or SOS system has a small battery and it takes a long time to recharge it's embedded in the GPS satellite antenna,
      I must say from all the vehicles in my shop I do enjoy work working on Volvos I don't get a lot of those in the US but when I do I admire their advanced engineering and design ,

      @@adasaimingbyjackshort2123 I like programming Volvos they are pretty straightforward, once you learn the vida software it’s nice, and pretty quick. And I did t know they charge the dealership software reload fees as well. That’s crazy lol but keep up the good work👍👍🙌

      @adasaimingbyjackshort2123 volvo have a special charger for recharging the battery in the gps/sos module. There is a technical journal for it and apparently updated software. If you drove the vehicle for a good few hours the car would charge the battery back up. Happens mostly on vehicles left sitting up not driven much. Waiting on parts probably did to yours

    Thank you for your video, it was mind blowing how locked down Volvos currently are...
    It is possible to get a rough estimate how much such repair cost and time spent waiting for parts?
    I looked into some auctions with several similarly crash damaged Volvo XC60s, so wondering if it is worth the gamble and headache repairing it afterwards.

      Hi, yes, Volvos are definitely locked down, All electronic modules have to be brand new you cannot install used electronic modules. Every module you replace needs programming, software per module is now $90. Plus $100 for three day diagnostic licensing subscription.,

    Hi, great video and super helpfull information.I have a quick question; I had a collision with my 2020 xc90 and passenger side curtain airbag deployed and rear right knuckle broken.I changed the parts including the driver seatbelt.I sent the center airbag srs module to be reset from from collision alerts.I am curious about next steps.Do I need to get vida software programmes?Thanks in advance!

      @adasaimingbyjackshort2123  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi, The driver seat belt has a motor and a module in it, and it requires programming, the module should be fine since it's the original , I just did a Volvo last week they charge $90 for three day subscription and $90 for each module that you need to program,
      Vida is expensive,
