The 2018-2021 Volvo XC60, one of the safest cars ever made, is fully-loaded with new technology. Steer Assist has been added to the ground-breaking City Safety system. A new safety system called Oncoming Lane Mitigation uses steer assist to help mitigate head-on collisions, while Volvo’s Blind Spot Indication System (BLIS) now uses Steer Assist functionality to reduce the risk of lane-changing collisions.
Pilot Assist, Volvo’s advanced semi-autonomous driver assistance system, which takes care of steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 130 km/h, is available in the new Volvo XC60 as an option.

Seatbelt pretensioners, they've actually been around since 1986~(?). However, that seems like they deploy BEFORE the car actually has an impact, which is definitely better than the first ever employment of the tech (Mercedes).
every single car has that. It also happens in some Volvo cars where if you accelerate or slow down quickly (ish) it will tighten.
Yep, in my XC70 the seatbelt always tighten up when flooring or braking hard.

I've got a new V60 Cross Country, I put it in sport/ traction off mode then was doing donuts in the snow and my seat belt got really tight while I was drifting across the mall parking lot. Sweatdish ride! Ex Saab lover here.

It has a safety cage made in different types of steel. The most important area of the cage, that protects the intrusion of the crash into the passengers and driver, is made of BORON STEEL - a ultra high extreme solid steel - very very resistant that can even support crashes at 80 MPH-128km/h.
Of course the energy of such a crash is very complicated to humans because of the deaceleration and the g forces involved. It might get your inside organs bleed.
But this XC60 is a fuckin' beast a fuckin' tank made with a high percentage of BORON STEEL.
XC60 HAS A 191 CM OF WIDTH, 469 OF LENGTH and 166 cm OF HEIGHT.
ALMOST TWO TONES 1900-2000kg most of engines and trims, and the plug in hybrid T8 because of the batteries, has a weight of 2200kg.

@rita gonzalez Not true. All XC60 are still made in Torslanda factory in Sweden, by Swedish workers, with Swedish materials like the steel used in safety cage. Swedish steel is the best in the planet. Chinese shareholders invested billions in Volvo. But who makes the projects, the experience, the know how, who elaborates design, safety technology, etc, are Swedish teams back in Sweden.
@@MrTribalsun XC60 are also built for export in China. Currently all XC60 with the T8 engine for the european market since mid-2019 are built in the Chengdu-plant. The reason for that is that they originally intended to export XC60´s from China to the US. But the ongoing trade war between USA and China made it uneconomical. So now they export XC60´s from Sweden to USA putting a strain on the capacity of the Torslanda-plant. So the T8´s are brought up from China to supply the european market while the swedish built T8´s are exported to the US. Not that it really matters, same car.
