Thanks for this video. My hose has dry rot and hissing. I was trying to figure out how that hose would come off. By it having clamps on the ends. Great job!
Thanks you🙏 your video helped😞not many videos with this info or truck year to match! 😊well it helped me find the leak...without a smoke machine...however on mine it was the other hose the short one with the white clip it's behind the brake booster drum..🙏🙇🙏many thanks
I had a problem with the small canister the hose was connected to, after I changed it, check light engine went away. Hoses are very worn and falling in pieces but did not know part# on them. Now I do, thanks for the video.
Traveled over a thousand miles by just taping it really tight with electrical tape but eventually it had to get replaced. Thanks a lot. Couldn't figure out how to get rid of the green clip
Thanks for the video . I can't believe they want so much for this hose ! Maybe I can just substitute some 3/8 " air hose and see if it stops stalling randomly at stops .
joseph bourdeau good call because my truck it has been stalling when I got to the stop and go since awhile and it's getting very intense that Iam starting to loose faith on it I will look forward to change this hose and see if there's any difference
So my a/c on my 2003 ford expedition kept blowing air out of the front defroster. It would blow air out of the front vents but then would switch to the defroster. I google searched what it could be and it kept saying it could be a vacuum leak. Then I came across this video. I checked this hose and it was cracked and I could hear air coming out of it. Replaced it with 3/8" fuel line hose and it fixed my problem with the a/c.
2000 ford expedition 5.4, Mine when i turn on my engine, it loses weight like it sucked the air or life of the hose, looking like twizzler. Lol it run fine but sometimes it hesitates. I was checking my fuel injectors. I might have a clog fuel filter, cause i get zero fuel pressure when off. When on is 30.
he states in the video 0:55 he thinks with high heat and years it has gotten worn but not too much description of the symptoms. Curious if he sprayed some carb/throttlebody cleaner while it was running and determined the hose was the problem and if the changed hose fixed the problem.
I have a 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT also, have you ever had to replace the third brake light wiring harness where the three bulbs go into? I was told that I would have to solder a new wiring harness in mine since it's not the kind that just snaps in like many of them.
Does anyone know if the green clip plays an important role here other than securing the hose? Mine is fine (hose that is) but the green clip retainer broke off, so it stays on as I hear it click when pushed in. Wondering if having the retainer broken makes this not work well. Asking because I’m chasing a possible vacuum leak reference P0174 and have not found any with blowing cigarette smoke through brake booster line, other than smoke coming out from the IAC round side (not the vent cap) and very faint through the oil filler cap (though I’ve read this might be normal?) Vehicle is a 2002 Expedition 4.6L with 196k; haven’t driven it for like 3 years but decided to show it some love and bring it back into service 😅
I changed this hose already, now I need to change the hose right next to it b/c its falling apart also. Would you know the part# for that one also? The one with the white tip? Thanks any feedback appreciated and thanks for the video.
I have a 2000 ford expedition 4.6L V8 Triton XLT. Do you know how to replace the round metal piece that is inside the hole where you put the tire rod used to crank down the spare tire? Mine fell out and I'm trying to find a video or someone that knows how to put that piece back or replace it because I'm unable to crank my spare tire down since that round metal piece fell out. Any advice would be appreciated because I'm tired of riding around with my spare tire in my third row seat.😊
@@turo669 Art, I took the line off and just replaced the two rubber hoses on it and another small down towards the tank. I hope this makes the gas cap light go off.

For anyone else looking, its called a Fuel Vapor Separator Tube Assembly

The one he is replacing or the other one with white connector?
just squeeze the two tabs on the green clip people!
Might you know the name of those clips ( green and white) I broke the white one ( larger one ) cannot find any info on these.
What was your truck doing before the hose replacement and did it work?
Would you happen to know the part number for the other hose? Mine is coming apart. When I rub it it the rubber disolves.
I replaced the hose last year without removing the green part from my truck. Ran fine until this morning and the green plastic clip is broken in half.
