  • I hear hitting that like button leads to success.
    Today we’re replacing a failed thermostat. Usual cause is overheating engine or just an engine that will not get to operating temp. When you have a ISX engine and need that reassurance you can do the job look no further. I got your back. Stay safe and stay grinding out there.
    And if you like what you see and are feeling generous, help out some hungry techs out here

    So I'm Finally receiving a Gen 5 DD15 the first week of January after ordering it 6 months ago. My current DD15 has 900k on it and I feel like it's just a matter of time before it goes. Anyways I've heard of problems with the rocker arms breaking off in the head with the gen 5 DD15. Is Detroit know about the problem and do they have a solution yet?

      Congrats on getting you new ride. Going to be a completely different beast. You are correct there is an issue with the adjuster screws breaking apart or getting worn and causing noise.Detroit knows about this and will eventually make a material change to fix this issue but for now its just the weak link in the valve train.

      When you’ve been doing this for 20 years you will know what a torque setting it just by feel. Only time I double check it is when I’m doing engine internals.

    Sorry question has nothing to do with video. Why are dd15 2 high pressure lines one time use only? Replaced pump seals. And now one of new lines is leaking evidenced by fuel seepage around one line

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před 2 lety +1

      Haha all good man. That happens quite a bit. Good question. Due to the high pressure being used in the line and the thin material compared to injector feed lines, detryhas determined that these two lines are the weak link and will leak or blow if reused. I’m sure if they were made thicker than they would be good to reuse but there cheap enough to replace especially if you look at the alternative,, breaking down. Hope that helps.

    Hey bro how r u?
    I’m facing a problem on my freightliner cascadia dd15 dOC low temperature then one mechanic figure out its a fuel doser he changed it buy still doesn’t work then he changed hydrocarbon dosing block but still problem is there it says abnormal fuel dosing?
    What can cause this any idea ?
    My truck is sitting in the same shop for 4 days
    He said he is priming it or something like that

      Thanks for reaching out man. With that particular problem the hydro carbon doser block is infact a likely failure. Once that’s been replaced he should be able to see fuel press from the block to valve and see if it’s good. If it isn’t than the valve is plugged If it is good than we have an issue with a bad sensor in the aftertreatment. Also one thing that will cause this is any exh Leaks. Hope this info helps.

      @@HarpalSingh-qz9pg I see the problem here. If the injector status stays 0 than the regen is only getting to 800 deg f. If that’s the case than the regen isn’t happening. Running a doc u plugging routine for 10 min than stopping it, than running a regen should clear it up. Sometime it will get stuck and not dose fuel. If that doesn’t work than I would flash the acm to see if that will wake it up. I’ve had these issues before and usually one of these work
