    I got a pair of Chippewa Arctic 50 that I bought in 2004 ,
    It's 2024 so they are 20 years old , they still look brand new .

    oh, just clean them anyway...lol. I'm not a hard working man like you. I own two pairs of Franks. I completely agree that they're second to none but it's great to see a hard working guy use a pair of Franks and show them for what they are...very tough and durable.

    Just put my first order for Franks Boots last week. I can’t wait for them to arrive! I hope they’ll serve me as well as your commanders have served you.

    You’re the reason I now know what a good boot consists of. I bought a pair of Carolina loggers with a vibram sole. Loved those boots! Not quite the $650 tag and the 100 hour break in like the Nick’s. But still around 40-50 hours and $260. I loved those boots😢

    Those Irish Setters look like a pair of Wolverines I had...fell apart in about 6 months.
    Try a pair of Wesco's, then do a comparison with your others.
    Sadly, wait time is 15 months+.

    Military engineer here. Clean your boots dude, even if you don’t care about the cost of a new set its a matter of hygiene. With a pair of tanks like these you could probably get away with not even washing or oiling them for a year at a time, but it only takes maybe 2-3 minutes to brush them out after a week at work.

  • @noone3734
    @noone3734 Před rokem +4

    Don't put super glue on them, the grain side of the leather is probably still intact, just needs cleaned and oiled.

    nice vids
    thx for sharing those boots conditions
    with better care (especially wax or oiling) seems the boots can last 2x longer since most of the problem only cracks
    seems Frank's commander is very tough :P
    how long ur Nick's last before rebuild?

  • @deancawley506
    @deancawley506 Před rokem +5

    Forgive my ignorance, I’m just genuinely curious as to why you don’t bother to clean em. If even just once or twice a year you’d get a lot more use out of the leather before rebuilding. Awesome video either way, love Franks!

    Absolutely love both pairs of my Frank's. To give you credit, they don't look as torn up after 4 years, as I'd think absolutely 0 maintenance would do. Did you dry brush them every now and then?

      @NomadicINK  Před rokem

      Ive done maybe 2 cleanings over the 4 years. But it's been a solid year and a half since ive given them any love.
      These boots just hold up well!
      I'll be cleaning them soon and we will see if I can make them look a little better 😄

      Frank's is best!
      Nick's has stopped doing the McKay-Lockstitch (Blake stitch) to save money. They also don't go as far with MTO as they did when Frank owned Nick's.
      JK are slimmy & sneaky. Cut corners, and try to make their mistakes the customers problem. White's have missed a step since being bought by a Japanese company.
