Interesting video. I worked in a steel mill for 32 years and had to wear leather boots with steel toes & metatarsals. Hated to get new ones as they tore feet up until broken in. We also had to wear thick socks which meant a larger size. Wish we could have gotten them fitted like those ones. Now I have to wear fitted shoes as foot arches are shot and toes deformed. It pays to get good shoes in the long run.

I have a pair of Type 1 Commanders as well. Hands down the only work boot I'll be buying from now on which I don't expect will be for a while because these are made to last for years. Also, customer service is exceptional!

I just ordered a pair of 6 " semi dress. I am excited to get them and wear them.
Showers check out the DARN TOUGH boot socks. It really boosts foot comfort. They are $$. But I got five pair and they last years if you don't let them rot. I can't emphasize enough you should just get a pair and try them. Merino wool is probably the best sock material ever discovered. You appreciate boots so much you will appreciate these socks. And it will make a very cool review too. Peace.

I called Frank's today I really like the Type 2 Highlander in Walnut Smooth over Rough Out, their pricing looks fare so I'll fill out the fit sheet and send it in and probably get an 8" height!

It seems to me that all of Frank’s styles closely mimic those of Nick’s Boots. I’m wondering why they don’t have a more distinguished style of their own? My line of thinking has always been that if you copy someone else the best you can possibly ever be is #2. This is not meant as a jab or insult, I am genuinely curious what new ideas or methods Frank’s brings to the market. Why buy a copy when you can buy the original?
Frank worked in nicks for 20 years, the shop is the og nicks store, technically they are the original. Nicks was bought by new owners, and the style is a general style, not brand exclusive, nicks, whites, jk boots, franks and many more make them.
It's starting to look like franks is a better boot company than Nick's I am getting ready to order some custom boots and Wondering which way to go they're not cheap wanna make a good choice

I would buy franks i bought a pair of nicks builder pros with every option a 700 $ boot sent my fit sheet in waited the 8 weeks while they where made and another week for them to arrive and when they did they where a a size and a half to big i contacted nicks and told them they where way to big guy at nicks told me that they where not and if i wanted to send them back and get them fixed it would need a full rebuild at a 250$ expense to my wallet which would put the total cost of the boots at 950$ after i get them rebuilt just rediculous never buying from them again
Currently i am wearing double socks and a thick insole and a piece of sponge at the toe of the boots so they fit while i go to work while i save up to get them rebuilt by a company that knows what they are doing like franks

Boots I tried on I'm not the boots I'm getting. They're just to help get the fit before they build my boot. The type 1 Commanders look a little more manly than that LOL but now that you said those do look like Mary Poppins boots :-) and yes they're very comfortable after you break them in

hmmm honestly i expected alot more than just trying on 2 pairs of boots, him feeling around the ball and asking you how the boot feels for a "coustom fit" boot. this is pretty much what youd do at any shoe store.
