r/Maliciouscompliance In today's episode, a stuck-up worker at a company thinks that she's so valuable that company would crumble without her. That also gives her the confidence to go around treating people like garbage. When the opportunity arises for her to switch her job to a contract-based position, her boss is more than happy to maliciously comply. Then, he just doesn't renew her contract! Turns out, the boss had been looking for a way to fire her for years, and she just handed him a good excuse.

"Watching toddlers really shouldn't be that hard hun." Ma'am, have you met a toddler? Yeah they can be cute, but they can also be the most nightmareish and stressful beings to deal with on this planet. It's one of the things I keep in mind when people say they don't want kids. I get it. I'm glad OP decided torture was the best route.
Thereâs a reason you have to watch them like hawks and put child locks on everything. Plus theyâre fast little buggers!
The story about the toddlers made me laugh sadly she's got worse to come lol mine were premature and my youngest hit her terrible twos at age 5 ill let that sink in, ok she was tiny in size of a 12-18mth clothes but she was a nightmare to live with lol. Well her teacher came out one day looking like hell saying she was a nightmare tantrums having fits etc I told her oh, she's fine she's just hit her terrible twos she's also teething with her 18 mth baby teeth, she said but she's 5 how is she having her terrible twos? I explained because she was premature she's finally catching up and I know this because the Dr told me while laughing he said we just have to ride it out actually he found it hilarious !! She looks horrorfied and said so what do we do how do we deal with it ?? my reply well between 9am-3pm she your problem any other time she's sadly my problem. And you just have to figure it out sadly she didn't come with a instructors hand book and she changes everyday just like with any toddler, the teacher looked totally defeated and said is that it ?? đ¶ I said oh and good luck with that đ€Łđ€Ł got to say it was a relief once she got through that stage lol
Toddlers are like drunk people. They wonât listen & when they get hurt they blame you for it.
Toddlers, second only to Customers (Looking at you Karen)
I'd rather herd cats than work with toddlers, cats aren't as obstinate and temperamental as toddlers
As someone with sensory issues, crying babies and snoring are two things that make me irrationally mad. It immediately sets my jaw on edge.
I understand that babies will cry until they learn speaking skills and snoring isn't anyone's fault, so I don't get mad at them. But I've been called rude for putting in headphones or leaving a waiting room with a crying baby or heavy breather... It's insane to me that people will find me rude for removing myself from a situation that I know will set me off...
I... sensory issues aye?
@@finalchapter1899 lol, Scottish joke
I would say itâs nicer that you remove yourself from a situation where say a mom canât remove a baby if their sick. I donât understand why people would think youâre rude for that. Like what??
Bruh, it's just rude of you to have issues and not be perfect. Like, how dare you !
Right? How dare you not kneel down and do the bidding to someone elseâs âangel rainbow sparkle baby uwuâ
Should be grateful people are nice enough to respectfully walk away instead of being mean to a baby. I get that we donât need to cater to people in public, but walking away from things that other you literally doesnât hurt anyone.
Infants are a nightmare if you're not prepared for one... Twins are much more than double the trouble since it seems like they have an exponential increase of trouble for the icing on top. As a Santa, I've had more than my share of fussy, upset, and wiggleworms and this has taught me more than I ever thought possible about parents in general as well as the kids. That old woman was just looking for a target for her sourpuss'ness.
My oldest niece was TERRIFIED of Santa when she was really little so she just cried the whole time on his lap. Which I thought was weird since she wanted to see him and sit on his lap. And my father and I stood in line with them for at least 30 minutes for that to happen listening to all of her and my other niece's complaining AND all the other kids. It wasn't a fun time for 12 year old me....
As a twin I can confirm that we do this on purpose. One goes one way the other another because at least one of us will evade capture. My mum has videos of my twin and I baby talking to each other (making our plan) then executing it, unluckily for us she had my older brother and stepdad there as back to chase down the escaping twin.
@@KapitainvonHass - I am so sorry that happened. If it helps, I'm a wheelchair Santa that visits the kids in the hospital so the setting and atmosphere is much different.
@@nickball4071 - Yeah, but I bet it was fun to try to evade them as long as possible! :-D

âI guess watching toddlers really isnât that hard after allâ
Was this posted by my sister? Because that sounds exactly like my sister, she would 100% do this with a massive shĂŻt eating grin. She doesnât have twins, but when my nieces were still wee they liked being talkative and loudly expressing themselves, most folk donât mind because yâknow, theyâre kids, theyâre not doing it on purpose, but sometimes youâd have someone give her a dirty look.
One day weâre on the bus, my sister, me, and my 2 nieces, and the youngest was about 9ish months old and loudly expressing how much she liked the bus (same kiddo, same). The bus was quite empty as it was later in the day, weâd been out all day visiting places so we were travelling back home, so there was a young guy at the back with headphones on and not caring, a dude with a dog at the front, and this old wifie who was just utterly miserable, the sort that would be upset that a child dared to breathe near her. She tried loudly clearing her throat, making âhmphâ noises, glowering, and tapping her foot loudly, and eventually as my niece was starting to settle with a bottle she LOUDLY started ranting (which set off my niece again) about how my sister was clearly a âterrible motherâ and how âlooking after a baby is easyâ, how she was âcompletely irresponsibleâ and âobviously neglectsâ my niece because she was a literal baby, who was hungry and tired.
My sister just said âoh is it easy to look after babies? Okay, you can do it for me then, seeing as itâs so easy, Iâm sure youâll manage with absolutely no problem!â
The old wifie looks appalled, and continued her tirade
âYouâre irresponsible! Why would you give your baby to a complete stranger? You donât even know me!â
To which I piped up
âWhy would you tell a complete stranger how to care for their child? You donât even know us.â
She got the hint, muttered under her breath in her seat for 5 minutes until it was her stop, and had to listen to the cacophony of cries until she left. My niece settled down after the wifie left, obviously she could sense a great disturbance in the force.
Oh my God! This is hilarious!

I'll just mention that severance pay isn't necessary a global thing. I don't think I've ever had a job with severance - they're all entry level, and I do know that some workplaces have redundancy packages (that's specifically for roles that are no longer required, rather than someone fired for X or Y reason), but yeah, severance in Australia at least isn't a widespread thing.
It really just applies if you have a contract and the contract is broken by the employer, or they essentially 'pay' for 'breaking' it when they end your employment.
It exists everywhere with labour laws, but it rarely applies to entry-level or hourly pay workers, and HR rarely allows a company to fuck up so badly that they break a contract in 'letting someone go'. There are always loopholes, and they are usually in the company's favour, or they can word them so they are.
Unless an interpretation of severance pay would be paying someone the equivalent of 2 weeks notice. Sometimes that applies.
These videos are always so good, because they asked for it themselves, they caused their own problems
Gotta love it when a boss works someone to the ground and get bit with malicious compliance. Also, if I was the manager, you'd bet your but I'd get OP checked out and if they cannot work, I'd bust my ass to cover for them rather than force working hurt.
@ContradictoryCrow depending on a specific branch it's not always the case......but it still does gold up for a general consensus. Especially with major players in specific fields

On story two, when I heard âit disturbs german speaking peopleâ. This is literally a line used by an ex boss of me in Germany. That we cannot speak any other language in the office (even in our breaks) because it disturbs the german speakers. Some Germans are like this unfortunatly. I've got a bit of a story myself, so I'm an ex championship dancer, and I had to retire due to an injury. The dance I did was Irish dance, I had a solo outfit and everything. In the academy I went to I had a rival, a guy I'm gonna call J. I'm a trans guy and I still have a friend in the academy who is MTF, N, and she's told me what happened. So about a week before we were gonna fly out to go do our World Competition, which was my first worlds and I was super excited, J told me that he was gonna take my spot and I wasn't gonna end up going because he was better and more experienced.
Turns out he was right because I broke both my legs three days before flying out from stepping wrong and tumbling off a stage. I was devastated and my legs were mangled. J did end up taking my place, but the kicker is- he made us lose first place for worlds because of his wanting to take the lead in a 6 hand. N had told my instructor what she heard J say and J got screamed at. Best way I can describe my ex mentor: The Gordon Gay Ramsay of Irish and River Dance. So I guess it's petty revenge and malicious compliance but he cost us the win and quit not long after that. I recently attended my ex mentors wedding with his now husband and I finally dusted off my old hard shoes for the occasion. I've grown from my Irish Dance stage and now pursue Criminal Psychology and consider myself a drag artist. My family at the academy is still there but the main part I'm upset about? I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AT LEAST 5'5 AND I'M STUCK AT 5'2 CUZ THE INJURY

The first story is proof of why a good work ethic and positive attitude should always be your only way to work for someone. Flaunting authority and relying on being a favourite to someone powerful will eventually catch up to you.
Also, always get the doctor's note. Never try to take one for the team and compromise a way to work so no one else gets overworked. I know it sucks to be in either extreme but if something happens to you during your shift, that would be even worse than just getting yourself checked out and letting your doctor decide if you can get through work and still heal up.
Moral of the story: Don't mess with a contractor or suffer the wrath of the rock

So a part of me thinks the story with the broken ankle, the boss did that on purpose. Because if op further injured himself on the job, then legally they would be responsible. He would be out longer and on the company dime.

In my area it's standard to make a real estate offer conditional. Having a satisfactory home inspection (at buyer's expense), obtaining financing, and selling the buyer's previous home are common. A poor home inspection means the buyer can back out or reduce the offer.
It's basically a negotiation, and you can offer or ask anything legal. We had someone buy our house, without appliances, then make a side offer for them. She didn't want to mortgage the purchase of used appliances and we were ok with that. (Major appliances are often included in the offer to purchase - just a custom and up for negotiation.)
Thanks for uploading in the morning cause now I can listen to you while I work in class. Also everyone have a good day.đ

Why do managers hate chairs or stools? Like we canât be on our feet all day itâs not wrong to be sitting as long as it doesnât impact the work.
I'm not sure what managers are expecting to happen when they see proof of a serious injury and demand a doctor's note anyway.
Malicious compliance videos must be my favorite by R/
One time when I was working construction, I placed my ankle badly due to a dip in the concrete where it led to a drain. Normally I'd have recovered, but I had been up next to my boss's work pickup to talk to him and it got in the way. I gave my ankle a really nasty sprain. I didn't go to the doctor, kept working, and my boss was ok with me walking reeeeeealllly slow for a couple of weeks. It took more like six weeks before my ankle was back to full strength. Watch out if you get a sprain; the injury will want to repeat itself because it directly weakens the muscles, tendons, ligaments or whatever that would prevent it.
5:03 I wasnât expecting that.. I was waiting for the great wisdom of Rslash not that lol đ
I use that âEnglish phraseâ all the time
I'm a disabled veteran. Every so often, my knee acts up, especially if I'm standing in one place a lot, maybe every 3 months or so. So I used to work fast food, and requested to sit on a stool when performing a stationary job (only for the day my knee was bothering me), like taking drive through orders, or taking the money/handing out the orders. The owner refused, claiming I was in the way, even though because of how close I pulled the stool, I was actually less in the way (at the window, you were boxed in, so there was no possible way to be in the way). This combined with other fairly substantial issues led me to make the jump to a new career, and she was baffled when I quit and wouldn't stay on at all.
6:30 when he said ET-Regina i thought he said "Aunt Regina" and it reminded me of when i was 4 and i said "Aunt Regina is a Ho Ho Ho!"
I wonder if for the ankle injury the manager asked a doctors notes so that there was proof of an assessment of the injury before she came to work. If she had come to work despite being injured without the assessment and it got worst, then it would have been hard to prove what happened when. It would then turned into a work related injury and paint the company in a bad way as well as well make their insurance higher I guess.
Or make an illness out of an injury, which, depending on the country, is paid by a different insurance.
That first deep scratching sound would have given me a big grin. The second one after she signed the release would have made it turn to a huge smile, lol. đđ

7:20 the fact that sitting down is considered unprofessional in America is deeply ableist. I snapped my kneecap basically in half five years ago and I couldn't afford to get it treated so I'll probably have pain when I stand and walk for the rest of my life. This has made finding work impossible. I'm a trained video editor with a degree in film production but I can't find work right now. unfortunately, all the open positions in my tiny town are service jobs, which require standing for eight hours straight. I can't even stand for 20 minutes without getting winded from the pain. It really fucking sucks.
I wouldn't be surprised if the real reason behind the sentiment is companies not wanting to spend money on chairs for their employees.
So if you have the money to have a primary care doctor that will go on record confirming that you can still get those jobs. During interviews they ask if you can perform your job duties "with or without accommodation." Say yes, get hired then request an accomodation through the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act). Your doctor will have to fill out paperwork. Technically the job can try to argue that a chair would put undue burden on the company but that wouldn't really fly in court. They are way more likely to just give you a chair at the register

Edit: Hello
Day 52 of asking RSlash for more r/wooosh đ
Iâve bought a house and also have sold a house. It isnât uncommon for a buyer to have a long list of requested repairs that the seller can either agree to or not agree to. Thereâs a back and fourth that goes on during escrow. Inspectors can be expensive, so if you have a family member who can do the job, why wouldnât you take advantage of that? Again, the sellers donât have to agree to their demands. I sold my home âas isâ. The first home I purchased, no one was living there, so it was easy to have my inspector go in with their agent and do what he needed to do. The second home I purchased, a family was living there and that made it much harder to work with everyoneâs schedules to get it all done. Having people drop by unannounced isnât ideal but isnât uncommon. I mean, thereâs a sale going on. It doesnât make the buyers jerks. Also, expecting the home youâre purchasing to be clear of junk and trash isnât unreasonable either. Sellers will often leave trash on the property when theyâre moving out and it becomes the buyers problem at closing. It happened to me. It sounds like OP is making a big deal out of nothing. The buyers donât sound like jerks in my opinion.
It depends on what the repairs are, as well. Buying the house I'm in now was a nightmare. The seller was trying to go for $245k but the house needed a brand new roof, new water heater, and some work done under the house, and there were some dead trees that needed to be cut down before they fell over. We suggested $215k because of the repairs cost and the bathrooms were older. The seller tried saying that the house was renovated, but the renovations were in getting a sprinkler system put in in the yard for the garden, not in the roof or bathrooms or the water heater.
She could have simply disagreed on the sale and then we just look at other houses, but she agreed and then after we signed on closing, she and a friend of hers came to the house while we were there (we weren't supposed to meet) to give us the keys and started yelling and ranting about how we took advantage and stuff. Like, lady, the last renovations on this 1979 house were done in 2006 before the housing market crash, what we were asking for were things anyone else ask about not to mention they planned on trying to take the dining room chandelier after the closing when it was my house. Needless to say, I got the locks changed first thing next morning. Lol
