- Vintage Story Desert Life is a desert-themed survival playthough in version 1.19, with a large list of mods to speed up the process of building and chiseling. While our builds will all (or at least mostly) be in the desert, we are not restricted to hot and arid climates for the purposes of gathering materials and resources.
This series exists as a series of VODs, as well, but for people who prefer their videos in a more manageable length, the VODs will be cut into these shorter episodes and released throughout the week after each livestream, provided that there is enough desire for this format.
Want to play along? You'll need the world files and all of these mods (likely) in order for it to work. Download links below.

thanks for sharing I enjoy your calm approach helps with my overly cluttered mind
Hey thank you! Glad it helps! :)
Didn't realize I came in that late into the stream. So glad to have these piecemeal videos to catch up on interesting things, like the malachite mining or the wallside farm building, while I'm downing a piece o' meal. :D
Haha, I see what you did there!! :)
Dont forget you do have the Quarry mod active. You can make a Rubble Bin and Rubble Hammer then smash down a slab of stone into stones (i think) then pound that in the bin down into gravel then into sand... much easier than running around trying to source gravel from nearby.
I did forget about that, but I'm not sure the gravel and stone generation is more efficient. I'll have to play with it at some point, but I suspect the additional tools required and their durability loss might make the time required a bit of a wash (due to needing to make more trips to get metals and smithing the tools themselves).
Think you could draw out a comb like mote from the lake to make a fertile area like the egyptians did from the Nile?
Sort of like a horsetail shape (the plant, not the animal organ) coming up to the oasis? You could pull realisic waterways in from there
Hmm, that could be neat! Though one problem I am discovering is that soil in the desert apparently never grows grass... so it wouldn't actually look fertile. >.< I'm trying to see if there's a way around this.
38:53 munchkin sounds a bit like uno. The fights that have started because of certain cards...
Oh yeah, very similar in feel, though extremely different mechanics.
Why not just disable the trader's claims?
It's just something I don't want to mess with. I could accidentally cause them to despawn, and I don't know how to fix that.
You're worried about having people watch you do mundane tasks while you slowly tap through limestone with a copper axe? IDK why you pumped the breaks at bronze and continue to f* around with flint. You could have been on iron a while a go. Do I hear another temporal storm? Time to make 8 more flint spears.
XD fair enough. Part of it is that I don't enjoy rushing the different tech tiers and living in a dirt hovel while doing it. Building is one of my favorite things, and it's also popular with folks who watch my content, so I try to keep my activities diverse. Plus with iron, it's much more bearable once you have a helve hammer, which e don't have because of the summer growing season cutting our flax production in half!
