- I am trying to hit a huge variety of different types of cards. Not only brainstorm and then 9 cards that are similar to brainstorm, if I did that I could do a 1000.
Because of that I think you might have opinions about some of the cards in this top 100 list.
I once made a 20 cEDH staples where I was trying to demonstrate that you can get into cEDH on a budget. Someone said that isn't enough. So I made a 100. - Krátké a kreslené filmy

I came here to comment the same thing. There are a lot of new staples for cedh under 5$ that can replace some of this ones.
Here we are 2 years later and the current video would be "just use proxies".
Necromancy has spiked to almost 10 USD. Feels good when you got two for a quarter in a flea market some years ago.

A chunk of these cards are no longer budget, that means you really saw the power of them before everyone else. Good work!
Yeay. I do speculat in MTG a bit. But it is sad that many of these stapels no longer is budget for new players.
@@cedhtv but you know what? While older cards are becoming more expensive some can get replaced with newer ones or just hope to have some of those cards already.

You missed mystic remora. I don't think there is a blue deck that doesn't run this. and only costs 2$ us
This is my second cEDH staples video. I made one before where mystic remora was the final NR 1 card. Didn't wanna include it once more.
Honestly I agree. Cyclonic rift is one of the best cards. I put it in every blue deck.
"cyclonic rift" and "budget" don't fit in the same sentence.

Great video. Muldrotha isn't competitive but a lot of fun. I just enjoy reanimating decks. Meren is my favorite.
Man, I wish Rhystic Study was that cheap over here in Canada, its like 20 bucks at the cheapest
What! It is going up right now. Currently it is at 7,5 Euros. I guess it might land on the same cost as yours. Hmm maybe I should pick up some of them.
I recently picked up a play set of 4 rhystic studies for a little under 60 bucks and considered myself lucky
@Lucas Egeland Yeah even with 2 recent printings, it is still maintaining a high price. Still about 34 bucks at the cheapest up here.

5:30 the worst on the 2 but they are 3 reanimating enchant and i can argue both in favor of animated dead for his cost but in another way for necromancy for his "counter" possibility
in the end i think i would prefer to have necromancy in my deck but ofc anyway i'll have both

cEDH TV besides the rec sage and caustic caterpillar I'd like to add Manglehorn. The card only hits artifacts, but also has a permanent hate effect that slows down a lot of decks like Teferi and artifact storm.

Magus of the Abyss seems weird in a Stax deck; it would just die on the controller's next turn...
unless the plan is to Transmogrify it or something
Unless you have other creatures besides magus of the abyss you could sac. And a good deck that can bring back creatures.
stax decks that want this also run stuff like bloodghast/nether traitor/token generators/etc etc.
You should make a 2020 version
also. a very underestimated card right now. HELM OF THE HOST. at $2.50 American. it works ridiculous well for a handful of commanders with triggered ability.
example. kiki jikki +helm =infinite there are many others.enjoy great page
Pretty sure you have to tap kiki for that meaning that you wont get infinite kikis. You can only double your amount of kikis
@@truly_shawn kiki states non legendary and the helm tokens aren't legendary. You get infinite kikis but all but 2 are tapped unless you have a way to untap

@20:17 Pulverize is "free" if you sacrifice 2 mountains. Similarly, Reverent Silence destroys all enchantments for "free" giving each player 6 life.
Why don’t you have Cyclonic Rift?
It was really low once, like 1 euro. So I traded it way thinking. ahhh, I just find a new one from anyone later. And the card I wanted was really rare. However no one ever wanted to trade away it.
Then suddenly the card went up in price!
So I am basically waiting for it to get a reprint. Should happen sooner or later. I mean every normal Casual EDH player like the card.
Cryptolith Rite doesn't work well with Najeela in any way, it's a trap. It gives an ability to your creatures instead of having the wording "Tap x" on it, so it is indirectly affected by summoning sickness. The tokens Najeela provides enter tapped already, and she only untaps attacking creatures. Any of the creatures you tap for mana before combat won't be untapped by her. At the point that this card becomes useful in any way, you're already producing tokens by the dozen, aka winning on the same turn, and not in need of any more mana.
Cryptolith rite is a way for Najeela to gain infinite combat steps. Not the best on of the nine lovable ones I can agree on that. But it works.
And I have found it to work during play testing. I made some tokens. Najeela got killed, and the Cryptic rite "with tokens" help me re-cast her. And then I won the game with it.
I can see its use as a backup/utility card, but personally I'd rather play a counterspell or tutor/draw effect instead.

What you mean you don’t have a cyclonic rift. They are a must to have for every deck that has blue
I have managed. And when I don't and really need it for my decks, I proxy it. I plan to get on GP stockroom coming up soon.

Is Najeela a competitive commander?
If you ask me she is the strongest commander in the format. I don't think the entier cEDH community will agree on that. But everyone will agree she is quite up there among the top.

What do you mean Muldrotha is not a good Commander?
Cost a bit too much. And Tasigur and Thrasios are mostly better alternatives.
Even Karador is better than muldrotha, in my playgroup a lot of people started to build her so I build karador instead just for fun and its definitly a more powerful deck
Playing a little fast and loose with the term "staple" here but I suppose trying to come up with a genuine list of a 100 different and interesting budget staples is extremely hard.
Yes and no. Now afterward I have so many more cards that I could include. But I didn't think of them at the time being. But at the moment I made the video. Yes.

They're all budget if you use proxies. Just use them if you can't afford the real thing.

If you were doing this kind of list again it might be useful to split the list into similar card types, stax cards, control cards etc. and talk about all of those types of cards at the same time rather than having to repeat yourself :)
AleshaWSAD this would definitely be helpful. I feel though it was more genuine since it was not sequenced.
really nice for us, but for your own sake, this could have been 10 episodes in a series with the cards properly shown with an actual graphic of the card (that you could easily do even with powerpoint) and read with a proper mic. that would give a huge boost to your channel.
My first video I ever made was showing cards digital. However I like this method more. It feels more real or something.
But a better mic would be a great idea.
