Episode 44 of Love At First Scent
This was a CZcams Live broadcast streamed on Wednesday 2 October 2019. Unscripted. Unedited. Unrehearsed.
In this episode, I covered Tauer L'Air Des Alpes Suisses, composed by Andy Tauer.
    --
    Here comes the blotter update:
    - True to Andy’s style - and insistence on paying attention to detail - the scent takes you on a real journey from start to finish: its opening is in a territory that’s quite different from that of its conclusion. The bracing jog through the mountains is over and now the runners are enjoying a moment of calm, perhaps sitting on a rock, staring out at the still beauty of a lake. The sharp, pine-like notes have made way for vanillic plushness, with powdery, sweet balsams and resins. The sun is about to set behind the Alps and it’s time to snuggle up to someone.
    Thanks again for watching.

Just received my full bottle of Lonestar Memories in the mail from Switzerland, and with it was included a 3 sample set of L’es Swisse, Orange Star, and Golestan. This is definitely quite different, and I’ll have to live with it awhile before I’m able to determine what I think.
That said, I found Golestan to be quite lovely and I recommend checking it out!

I have tried Andy’s entire range expect some of the early Limited editions. (Fangirl...) I am definitely going to try this one . My favorites are Le Maroc Pour Elle, Une Rose Chypree, Lonestar Memories and L’Eau. I really like pine notes so I’m hoping I like the opening of this! Enjoyed the review, sorry I missed the livestream (work!)

First of all: please don’t worry about missing the live stream. I know the timings don’t suit everyone.
Thank you so much for watching, and I’m really pleased you like Andy’s work too. I’ve been a fan for years, especially of his older work. Please let me know when you get a chance to try his latest one.

Sounds beautiful. I adore the Swiss alps and love the idea of Andy Tauer interpreting his Zurich Alps for me.

@@Persolaise LOVE LOVE LOVE your reviews …. BTW I wanted to tell you I attended an invitation only Guerlain event in honor of Mitsouko 102 anniversary, at Saks 5th Ave in NYC a week ago. They had brought in a bottle of the original formulation that M. Wasser has preserved, for us to smell. It was amazing. Intoxicating! I bought an EDP in a beautiful Bee Bottle and am in love with it.

    Another great video, thanks!
Im fairly new to the niche fragrance game and Tauer Perfumes is in my top 3 favorite houses now. I have ADDM, Sundowner, Lonestar and Nexin (is this similar to Nexin?)

Byron stayed near Lake Geneva, I've just looked it up for you on Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_Diodati
"The Villa Diodati is a mansion in the village of Cologny near Lake Geneva in Switzerland, notable because Lord Byron rented it and stayed there with John Polidori in the summer of 1816. Mary Shelley and Percy Bysshe Shelley, who had rented a house nearby, were frequent visitors. Because of poor weather, in June 1816 the group famously spent three days together inside the house creating stories to tell each other, two of which were developed into landmark works of the Gothic horror genre: Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and The Vampyre, the first modern vampire story, by Polidori."
More to the point, you have certainly kept your enthusiasm in check. Detergent running to a vanilla dry-down, if that's the take away message, I'll pass...

Ah, thank you... but why have I only just seen this comment? Are CZcams's notifications not working properly for me...?
