  • What was the accident on LV 223 that killed the Engineers and stopped them from launching an assault on Earth?
What is the Green Goo on the hologram panel?
In this video I wanna talk about what really happened to Engineers on LV 223. there are many clues in Prometheus about this accident including the hologram and the pile of Engineer bodies. I’ll say right away that the assumptions that the crew makes about what happened are mostly wrong just like their thoughts about the nature of engineers. This theory that I have actually explains why there is only one engineer left alive why he didn’t launch the ship 2000 years ago, what is excatly the Green Goo that David sees on the panel and there is one specific clue that almost directly indicates who killed the Engineers.
First of all, the entrance to that temple required the Prometheus crew to physically crouch down and wiggle their way through a broken door. As we can see there is a curved door frame and what seem to be layers of a stone/metallic door, of which the final panel was busted in.
There is no way an Engineer would fit through that small portion of open door. Thus, the door to the Temple was clearly shut or in the process of closing when something busted in not out as we are meant to belive.
This shot shows clear cuts and straight metallic borders on each panel, indicating that this was not simply a "hole in the Pyramid". All that suggests the Temple may have fallen prey to an attack, rather than an outbreak...
Given the analysis above, it leaves us with a few probabilities. Either the Pyramid and the Engineer installations on LV-223 were the target of another fraction of Engineers, or an Alien creature got loose on the planet, found its way to the Pyramid, broke its way in and killed the engineers
Now that we know that it was an attack on the temple, let’s talk about who or what could have done it.
LV-223 and LV-426 (seen in ALIEN and ALIENS) are part of the same system. The Space Jockey ship which crashed on LV-426 was very, very old and carried a cargo full of Xenomorph Eggs. Is it possible, that the Space Jockey represented a different race of Engineer, one that was opposed to the group on LV-223, that could explain the size difference between the Space Jokey and Engineers in Prometheus. or possibly the Space Jokey was a radical from their own group, who attempted to stop the assault on Earth. There could have been an Engineer civil war due to the one extremist fraction and will to destroy Humanity. Perhaps Aliens were dropped onto the LV-223 to eradicate the Engineers before they launched their assault on Earth, but in the process, the cargo was unstable and got loose somehow - killing the radical Space Jockey in the process and crashing on LV-426 shortly after its "drive-by" of LV-223. Certainly a possible scenario
The Green Goo on the Hologram control panel
Let’s discuss what is the green goo on the hologram control panel. This is not the Black Goo and it looks very reminiscent of Xenomorph saliva, however it's not. Upon closer analyzing the goo, David remarks "impressive..." and when zoomed in, it looks like the Goo consists of intricate cells which are seemingly still active, even after 2,000 years.
What is this green goo then, I think it may be Engineer blood. In the comic books, when Engineer fought with a predator, his blood was clearly green. I also made a video about this fights, you can check it out on my channel. The burnt Engineer face has some green spots and when the deacon bursts out of the Engineers, we can also see some green drops despite that Deacon contaminated the engineer body and organs turning them blue.
But who actually killed the Engineers, there are some Blatant audio clues to support an Alien attack
At the end of the movie, we witness deacon and his roar. So the weird sound that we hear at the beginning of the hologram is actually Deacon.
ou can compare your self the audio played at the start of the hologram at the end of Prometheus and the two match up identically.
That can give a possible answer why there only one Engineer left alive.
Given that the crew didn’t find the Deacon’d body there was an Engineer vs. Deacon conflict following the initial attack. The Engineer, who David wakes up in Prometheus was the only one to survive the ordeal and who likely killed the Deacon or at least trapped it in the room, behind the pile of dead Engineer bodies. Why he didn't flee in the Juggernaut ship is unknown, but could be due to the fact that he was infected by the Deacon prior to his victory - leaving a spore inside of him.

LV-223 has silica storms which are blowing around sand/glass/gravel. After 2000 years, it shouldn't surprise anyone that the outer doorway and interior doorway are low in height. It's like the Egyptian Sphinx being buried up to it's head periodically throughout history. I suspect the outer entry way and inner doorway had greater head clearance in the past when Engineers were there to maintain it.

in the original prometheus script the engineer was actually infected by a facehugger. in the script engineers were breeding several kinds of xenos, some extra armored, others without any armor that would just slither and get inside rooms through any crevice. there were also several docks with different types of eggs and different types of facehuggers. the prometheus engineer was infected and froze himself so he wouldn't die. when the humans woke him up, he was extremely angry because they had just basically killed him by waking him up. as the engineer launches the ship, the xeno (called in the script ubermorph) inside him bursts out which causes the ship to crash. honestly i liked the early script versiona lot more than the final thing. although outlandish it explained a whole lot more and made more sense.

As someone going into prometheus with no prior alien franchise knowledge, i enjoyed the movie. It was a fun mystery sci-fi thriller which posed real questions and had me thinking critically to tie together the clues laid throughout the movie. As someone who knew nothing about this franchise there were a lot of unanswered question by the end but I was excited for the sequel. Thats where things went downhill for me. Covenant really didnt make much sense to me. Why were did the engineers on their home world look different? Why did the black goo not transform these people? I was underwhlmed by the engineer planet, for how advanced they were it was a really small city and seemed like they had not advanced technologically.

I still like the theory that the engineers not only seeded life, but return periodically through history to make alterations. And the last scheduled moment where they planned to return to earth, the attack on the engineers in Promethius occurred and the earth remained unaltered giving humanity a chance to thrive and accelerate civilization which was never meant to happen. Upon realizing what happened, the engineer dispatched the humans in the ship and intended to destroy the life on Earth to eliminate any possible future threats.

So the whole ceremony of the first engineer's sacrifice appears as a not so serious an experiment which is very demeaning to the engineers.
The engineers present during the sacrifice were those who accepted readily the role of playing God. There were other engineers who thought the sacrifice to be sacrilegious and were ready to war against those who dared to play God. The Hatred of the last engineer alive towards humanity was motivated by his belief system that made him think that since man is not God's creation ( the God of the engineers) , man is nothing but a freak that does not have the right to be.
This is just as if many people may very well think that human clones have no right to be. Embracing a wholly deterministic view point and accepting a clone as a normal human will take a great deal of Evolution in our world view. Such evolution has not been attained by the engineers themselves.
So Mr Wielland did not meet his maker.
He met the ennemi of his maker. Maybe we will have another movie , where man will meet his maker but may be in tragic circumstances like a chained Prometheus on whose guts , a bird of prey continually feeds on.

The key to this riddle is how did the Engineers die? At first I thought (5:44) alien attack due to the head trauma, but then I began to notice that Engineers had holes in other parts of their bodies. which suggests weapons fire. I think they were attacked by another faction of Engineers.
What if the last Engineer wasn't a survivor of LV223, but the last aggressor who attacked LV223, and needed medical rest after the battle? What if the Juggernaut had been sent to LV223 to steal the black goo from the supply temple, and the local Engineers had resisted?

I'm not really very deep into the subject but the question that has not been answered is; "did the Engineers really want to wipe out the humans of earth and why?" Without those answers it's nearly pointless to speculate but still fun. My favorite possibilities are, in no particular order:
    1. The Engineers had no real intention of wiping any humans out and it was all just a mistake in translation and twisted by David. They created and/or weaponised the xenomorphs, and/or black goo, for apparent military but unrelated reasons. David is not the most dependable source of info!
    2. This could also be called "1a" because it presupposes they found or created one or the other and somehow infected a population of humans. If the Engineer knew of no humans other than those who are part of the xenomorph hatching cycle it would be perfectly understandable for him to attack humans on sight. The possibilities are endless and would even include two groups of Engineer scientists, one studying freakish mutations and the other studying ancient man, and they crossed their research through some accident resulting in humans, either on earth or elsewhere, becoming perfect hosts and once again a smart engineer would be expected to kill humans on sight.
    3. They really were going to bomb earth with black goo but that's because there was already an outbreak of xenomorphs or unknown black goo creatures or something related but different on earth and they wanted to reset the life cycle of earth for the good of galactic life.
I find it very unlikely that a species as advanced as the Engineers would wipe out a sapient race because of hubris or quasi-religious mystical reasons. Maybe humans are the only species known to be able to produce viable queens? That would be a good reason, form a certain point of view, to wipe out humanity.
    Cheers!

It was a combination of Deacon class Aliens and the black substance. You can hear a Deacon screaming as the holo-recording commences. The murals indicate that the engineers idolized the concept of "perfect organism" or at the very least perfection. The way the ampules were laid out in front of the Big Head statue of the the Elder(Engineer at the beginning of the film) as well as the Deacon like Crucifix Mural. The Engels were trying to achieve perfection on LV-223, likely in honor of the original Elders who seeded life millions of years ago, though clearly this was a militaristic faction working I bioengineers on multiple projects, hence the multiple domed structures on the planet. Clearly the Deacon types broke containment and in the chaos the Black Goo, or "Accelerant" was released. The engineers never did achieve the perfect organism, that was David, the engineers are however responsible for the Evolutionary history of the Alien, but it is David who is the perfectionist.

    • @Striker163videos

Of course how the Deacon types broke containment is another theory entirely. The damage to the structure looked to be from weapons fire, the door was blasted open. The complex was likely attacked by an unknown force, probably another faction of Engineers, but who can say. Maybe a species above the engineers who are theorized to have existed.

They were unable to replicate or create life, only the blood of there god (which was running out), they tried to replicate it (black goo), but it wasnt perfect and made mutants.
They realized earth didnt turn out how it should of done, so they were on the way back to destroy it. Wayland explains why he should stay alive by saying he was a god and created the andoid, hence why his head was ripped off, this wasnt the path humans were supposed to take.

I felt from the forst time watching the scene that the Engineer was enraged by Weyland's hubris in saying he was a creator, and at David being an android added insult to injury. It is a deeply rooted sci-fi tenet that AI normally is evil or ends up evil. The Engineers likely in their arc of history dealt with the dangers of synthetic/digital articifical lifeforms and after surviving it, have strong feelings about preventing its resurgence. Note that their ship required live operating rather than being entirely self managing. They instead went in the direction of bioengineering, the true path of creation.

I am absolutely positive that the Engineers had a change of heart. Unless those were the very last Engineers, they would have sent another ship after noticing that the first mission had failed.
The one that was revived in Prometheus, was 2000 years out of date, possibly confused, and the first thing it sees after being revived after that long was an old arrogant selfish little human who thinks he deserved immortality for creating an android, and another human beating on a helpless female who was wounded from recent surgery because Weyland didn't want her to speak. The Engineer seemed more amused than amazed that humans were there standing before him but after he saw that....no wonder he wanted to still kill us all. Humans have reached the stars, but they are still evidently barbaric and selfish from the Engineers point of view.....who was sent on a mission to bomb Earth with the black goo thousands of years prior. Those types of humans spreading throughout the stars is a very real threat to their existence. The Engineer assessed the situation at hand and decided that the mission was still on.
I can't help but shake the feeling that if the Engineer's first encounter with humans had been a lot more pleasant, without a display of barbarism and selfish desperate greed, that the Engineer would have changed his mind. Especially if someone brought a musical instrument with them.

    a) There's a video conjecture out there that speaks to the Juggernauts being partially bio, explaining why the Space Jockey 'seems' 2,000 years old, when in fact this was just the decomposing of this bio-connection with the ship over a much, much shorter period of time. b) Those Engineers piled up outside the room were considered by many to have been 'chest-bursted', et cetera. I never thought that; were that the case, they wouldn't have clustered together...and signs of the bursting would have been visible...which they're not. c) I'm still fascinated by the mural/relief showing a variation of xenomorph...but I don't understand it at all...and I have yet to hear a plausible explanation. d) I still don't buy the suggested need for the Engineer wanting to IMMEDIATELY take off for Earth. That makes no sense. It's irrational. The first thing that anyone in his position, anyone with a right mind would do, is to find out what the current situation is right there on that moon, build himself an update before proceeding. There would be no urgency to him 'getting to Earth to destroy this failed experiment'. This was tossed against the wall by Scott et al as a rationalization to continue the silliness of the story. e) I do like your theory. f) I have no faith in Scott actually sorting things out...given that he wears a t-shirt with 'The xenomorph is my baby' on it. He was already asleep when the outbreak happened, as he was part of that ship's crew, and the deacons never made it past the final, still-locked door to get to him. And as his crew mates never returned, he continued on in stasis for 2,000 years. Upon waking, he found violent humanoids with a god complex demanding knowledge and power from him at gunpoint. If he was clueless, then why would he not assume they slaughtered his friends? Alternatively, if he knew about the outbreak, why would he assume the humanoids hadn't been infected? He had a zillion reasons to wipe the tiny sub-humans out. How about just, he's super religious, and all the talk about being Gods pissed him off? I had actually forgotten about the GREEN goo. David says something of "praise", so he seems to know what it is and what it does, but we are not let in on this. The whole playback of the recording is a mine field of questions. Are they running FROM something or running TO something? The suits should provide lots of protection, so how did any of them get infected? Why run to the head room? How did the Engineers get out of the head room? (We don't see any). 2 Engineers made it to the head room, so why is there only 1 Engineer in stasis? Is the head room part of the "pyramid" or part of the ship? The width of the door that comes down on the fallen Engineer should have crushed his head and chest instead of cutting it off. What were shown was a guillotine-style decapitation, so a little sloppy on the effects side logically. So now...given the fact that this is all fiction anyway...either the effects crew and writers are very smart or very sloppy or did not communicate. We have bodies piled up with chests burst open, but no sign of creatures, no sign of eggs, nothing. Either there is a very detailed story we haven;t been told, or the effects people just did a bunch of cool looking stuff that had no story behind it. It appears there isn't a director's cut b/c Ridley said he made the movie he wanted to make as-is. What is to be made of all of these details/inconsistencies w/o explanations?

    • @vh3hazy295
      @vh3hazy295 Před 7 lety +8

ClubShadeTree The idea that those engineers bodies had their chests bursted is an assumption. We actually saw what happened to one of the engineers heads when revitalized, and it blew up. So naturally, something else occurred that killed the engineers.

    • @ClubShadeTree
      @ClubShadeTree Před 7 lety +12

You make a valid point. I just went back and looked at that scene carefully. The comment was that they appeared to have exploded from the inside, not specifically the chest....Ok, my comment was inaccurate. The one clear shot we get of the bodies shows a helmet with the sides missing, suggesting explosion. This still leaves us with the mine field of questions though. Why were they on the verge of exploding? No one else exploded from contact, so what was the Engineers' story? It can't be the same pathogen David supposedly dropped on the Covenant planet, b/c that was a completely different death. I return to my accusation that a bunch of stuff that looked cool was done without having a back story. They had an entire movie (or 2) to explain and didn't. The director said the movie was everything he wanted as-is....full of inconsistencies and questions that don't get answered is what he wanted, I guess.

ClubShadeTree David remarks on several things that we are not clued in to. Mildly irritating in a way.
There was maybe one Engineer in the body pile with a chest hole. The others had various holes elsewhere, several in the head.
They did not all appear to be chest bursted, BUT all three Engineers that entered stasis with the surviving Engineer had holes in their hypersleep chambers right at chest level.
no deacon corpses to be found in the sealed pilot room.

ClubShadeTree Remember there were 5 temples in a line, in sight and presumably numerous others as David said there were "many others" when referencing Juggernaut ships on the moon.
We saw two Juggernauts from LV-223, both from beneath different temples, both containing formulations of the pathogen that achieved different results when in contact with organic life. Its pretty clear that LV-223 was a test site. So we can presume that each of the 5 temples we saw contained different formulations of pathogen and one or more could have a store of eggs inside. There could be numerous other temple sights all over that moon, which fits into Davids remark about there being many other ships. Implying a dozen or more. Using the derelict on LV-426 as a reference, it was loaded with hundreds of eggs so for the sake of transporting biological weapons, we can presume they have all of the above on sight.

The green goo, in my opinion, is used to display holograms. When David stetched out the goo with his fingers, you can see little specks and particles in the goo. When light passes through the particles they can display holograms. Thats why the holograms are grainy and also why its on the walls. But also I think the green goo has more than one purpose.

Exactly since their technology is based on biology, I think they are growing their ships, weapons suits etc using organisms and maybe the black goo is a weapon that was tested and that the mural on top (engineer being eaten by a creature) is the recording (by the organisms used to make the playback ) of the last event and that this creature killed them, in cold maybe this organic substance becomes inert. They were trying to create the Xeno or maybe something else...Or maybe David continued from where they left.

Maybe what killed them was really an outbreak, but not caused by the engineers on the planet. When Shaw observes the Engineer head back on the Prometheus his head bleeds black liquid and then explodes. Perhaps the engineers were infected, an unknown entity, or possibly another faction of engineers, launched an attack on the temple infecting and killing the engineers. Another clue is in Alien Covenant David when releases the black goo killing the civilization on planet 4, when they are infected they don’t seem to mutate but instead break down and die. Maybe the goo has different abilities depending on its state, if airborne or in a pure liquid. Because of this when the black goo was dropped on the temple it made slight contact with the engineers and caused them to break down and explode. This explains why the pile of engineers have many blows and holes on their suits, if those blows were caused by a foreign body bursting out of them I’m sure there would be many bodies of Xenomorphs or aliens to support an alien attack. Another scenario would be that maybe there was an outbreak AND an alien attack that happened at the same time. There was roar at the beginning of the hologram when David plays it, it’s very similar to a Deacon’s roar, maybe it was a Xenomorph or an alien but we do not know what exactly that creature was, all that can be said is that there was an alien present during the attack on the temple. This can also explain why there is a juggernaut ship on LV-426, perhaps it launched an attack on the temple releasing the black goo and possibly alien creatures.

One thing - the ship in Alien, derelict etc may have had a cargo of eggs, however CLEARLY the space with the eggs is big enough to fit the ship itself, so it must be situated UNDER the derelict. Also note the movie remarks "deep coal" layers in LV426, as well as the winding character of the egg chamber. I believe a fully developed egg-laying xeno must have exited the derelict below, burrowing with acid, and gestated to the point where it could lay eggs.
It may be still down there somewhere, dormant. It may be something substantially bigger than a queen by now.
Here is another clue - the awakened pale white giant at the end of the Prometheus was distinctly dissimilar to the pale white giants of the start of the movie. It has a biomechanical body and distinctly NOT a human physiology. Maybe it's some sort of Pale White Giant android?

My theory is. One of the fleeing engineers (which we saw holograms of in Prometheus) was the one who crashed the original “Derelict”.
Said fleeing engineer was actually already carrying an alien inside him… which burst out (mid flight) leading to it crashing on the very next moon next to lv223. (Lv426)
The Alien that burst out of the space jockey was actually a queen.
Which made the hole, and laid the eggs down to where Kane eventually found them all.
I honestly feel like RS put this in Prometheus for us all to work out, without actually saying it.
Also. The noise you hear in Prometheus (right as David activates the corridor holograms) sounds very much like a visceral screech which could have come from an actual Deacon!? (Long before the one we see birthed at the end of Prometheus)
Compare the 2 sounds and you will see what I mean. 👍
Beyond that. I don’t see why/how engineers would be transporting actual eggs!? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️
…Seems just a tad risky Imo. Even for a master Race!

Green goo is probably the engineers blood, but i donť think that they was escaping from a deacon or an Alien. There are some unnknown facts. The engineers ran throuht door and the last was too late and doors cut his head. But why they went to the room full of black goo? Why in this room weren´t their bodies? What for infection killed them (their heads explodes)? Maybe they were accidentally infected, so when they realized it, they went to the black goo room and died. Only 1 survives (maybe captain, who doesnt work with black goo), called his planet for help and went in cryostasis. But when he woke up after 2000 year, he realize that no one from his planet came to save him (I think the engineers corporation who made black goo behave similar as Weyland corp on earth - arrogant to every life entity), so he killed all people because he want keep it secret (i mean planet, spaceship and black goo) and he want to destroy earth population with black goo. And thats in the end of the movie...

His sleep station, when you compare it to the size of the humans and David right near it you can tell the engineer would be able to fit. The broken door to the outside isn’t tall, but very wide. Just look at the width in comparison to the humans walking through it. Yes, engineer can fit.

One thing on the entry into the temple by the Prometheus crew. The round door is very large. We see only half of it. There appears to be 2,000 years worth of sediment and debris built up several feet, covering the bottom half of the door. It stands to reason that the opening into the temple was clear and much more spacious 2,000 years ago. Plenty large enough for a 9' tall Engineer to enter through.
The rubble on the ground inside the temple can simply be stones that fell over time. Stone temples and pyramids obviously drop stones over so much time.
The Great Pyramid of Ghiza and every other stone structure on earth have had *many* stones fall away over thousands of years.

The height difference in engineers is due to the simple fact that they wanted to use practical effects for Prometheus which meant having a real person play the engineer. In the cannon, the engineers are 13-15 feet which explains the size of the space jockey in the original Alien film. This wasn't possible with a real person in Prometheus but they did use the tallest actor they could find. It has absolutely nothing to do with "different species of engineers."

  • @parmadacruz8755

My idea for a third alien/prometheus movie is as follows:
The engineers are the main characters in the movie and comes to the planet that was in the Prometheus movie.
There they find Weyland inside the crashed spaceship. They have a blue elixir which they empty all over him and bring him to life.
In the next part they arrive at the planet from alien covenant and find the other robot(Walter) who is david's twin. The engineers use the blue elixir and repairs him.
Once awaken the engineers and Weyland get to know all the horrible things that David has done, and weyland says "we have to stop David" .
They set course for origae. When they arrive, they scans all the planet, and finds the planet is full of hostile organisms except
on a high mountain where they discover that there are humans inside a cave.
Inside the cave they meet a herd of children, who tell that when they had lived on the planet for over ten years,
they began to be attacked by Xenomorphs and all the adults died or were turned into these creatures.
There were also great giants developed by someone the children calls David.
The engineers get ready to wipe out all the Xenomorphs that David has created, but the great giants manage to escape with one of the engineers' spaceships.
The engineers and Weyland hunts the spaceship and manage to force the spaceship down on the planet lv426.Where it start sending a distress signal.
The engineers return to Origae to find David, but discover that he has escaped.
In the last part we see David arriving and meeting an unknown alien species
on a tropical like planet. And that makes the cliffhanger that ends the third movie.

Kroft's 'clean up batting' is better than the script writers' story-crafting. Prometheus had too many loose ends, and then the audience was disappointed even more when the most promising of them-Elizabeth Shaw-died off camera and so her character went NOWHERE when SHE was the one going SOMEWHERE at the end of Prometheus. These films are beautiful to look at and the acting is fine or even great, but the storytelling is confused, dramatically illogical, and lacking in satisfying pay-offs for the audience. No director should have to EXPLAIN, after the fact, bits of the story which should have BEEN IN the film. Movies that tell stories should tell SATISFYING stories, LOGICAL stories, CONNECTED stories, UNDERSTANDABLE stories, and COHERENT stories. These films' storytelling almost has the fingerprints of 'too many corporate executives spoil the broth' upon them. You CAN revise a story to death and incomprehensibility, and Prometheus and to a somewhat lesser extent Alien Covenant, shot themselves in the foot in this respect. ' "Questions will be answered" when the DVD/Blueray comes out' is a poor excuse for good storytelling in the first place. High budget films need GOOD storytelling to justify their expense-to their audience at least.

There might well be a deacon involved but I'm sure the reason the jockey's died was due to black goo contamination, look back to the head that combust in the ship, the same happened to the pile of bodies outside the door. The reason why the door shut was because there was an airborne contamination outbreak, auto security kicked in and sealed the area. Had they died by the jaws of a creature their bodies would be spread wide.

I was with you until you said the green goo, high up on the walls, that lights up when you stretch it, was the engineer's blood... I agree that it has something to do with organics but not blood. Maybe the walls are alive... some of their tunneling system always appears in kind-of-a kidney bean shape and when David stretched the goo it lit-up looking just like the hologram... so I'm thinking, it can move David's hair because it's live particles moving down the hall. The hologram was activated when David rubbed his finger across those symbols (that look like cuneiform and arranged to look kinda like play... checkitout) and the walls spray out micro particles of the green goo to forms the picture, but anyway back to your theory. About the attack of the Deacons, If Deacons did break in to kill the engineers #1 they are very strong even as a team, did you see the thickness of that door??? and if it wasn't an infection why were all the engineer's chest exploded when the head on the ship was clearly changing from a black goo infection. And your theory about the only engineer left... looking at the hologram David activated you will see that the engineers are very calm and NOT wearing the protective gear like the engineers running in the hologram… notice as they prepare the ship for its journey to earth that they are in a work mode. They greet each other, give out instructions and head for their work stations Maybe the last engineer was the first to enter his cryo-chamber. Maybe it was just before the infection reached their ship...

i just noticed, if you watch the beginning of prometheus, the scene where the engineer drinks the crap in the cup, as we see the zoom from birds eye view of him to view of what's going on inside his veins, there comes a moment when the view seems to pass through a barrier, that barrier is obviously green tinged. amazing small things we catch on rewatches.,

I would agree if this wasn’t Ridley Scott...he has a history of stories within stories clues that r not revealed for years or decades...now Alien Covenant ...from what I can see the studio took a lot of control from him so it didn’t continue the original story from the first movie which was to focus and tell the story of the engineers ...so it makes sense he would have hidden clues etc within the movie , it’s basically his hallmark ...but who knows?

This thing about the deacon being the cause of the engineers' deaths is false in my opinion. The deacon is a brand new species that was created as a result of crossbreeding between the trilobite and the engineer. It would make more sense to assume that a trilobite was aboard the ship. I think this because first, the trilobite was created from Shaw being impregnated by sperm contaminated with the same black goo that is in the ship, and second, when the engineer is killed by the trilobite at the end, his expression shows he is terrified and that he could be facing off with the same thing that he ran from on the ship.

Very much agreed, the contaminated sperm did more than fertilize with an egg of hers, it probably caused her eventual death in Covenant.

The similarity of the biomechanical suits and the xenomorph are obviously not a coincidence. But the suits are actually part of the body of the Engineers, rather than suits that are worn. This is not a natural thing though, as we know what the bodies of Engineers look like from the Gardener Engineer at the beginning of t he movie. We also know that the head of the decapitated Engineer was infected with the Black Goo, and was causing the cells of the head to change. Then there was the mural depicting a creature with a xenomorph body near an Engineer who appeared to be absorbing him. It's likely that the Black Goo was used to help create the suits in some form or another. It may be that all the Engineers are intentionally infected with the Black Goo to transmute their bodies, normally giving them their xenomorph suits, but something went wrong, and transformed them into a Deacon or something similar, which then attacked the others.

YES!! I thought I was the only one who noticed but yeah, I also think the green substance in the door that David found is indeed the blood of one engineer... but... fresh?? or it is just that the Engineers are not like the ones using robes, but in fact are ALSO creations of those beings, created also in their image as soldiers/explorers. If they are also creations, then their blood is also engineered in a molecular level, and that is why it was glowing when David had it between his fingers...

As good an explanation as any. It would have been nice if their demise was elaborated. The holograms seem very complex and important and there must be a reason for them. They also seem very specific, related only to the last moments of the Engineers. Why were they, in particular, activated? Why them and not a holographic episode of them doing something else, at a different point in time?
There's obviously something behind them, I wish Mr. Scott would have revealed what.

The Engineer in Prometheus was sleeping because other engineer was supposed to drive the ship towards Earth, there’s no need to have other crew members awake if the ship can be piloted by one Engineer. Obviously “something” attacked them, and the original pilot never made it. It’s also interesting to note that, whatever it was what was attacking them, they protected the shrine from it by locking it up. But, the head of the Engineer they retrieve explodes, meaning that they got in contact with something, but it’s clear it’s not the black goo, since the black goo starts to flow after the Prometheus crew opens the shrine. So many questions, so little answers.

    Predators bleed green goo.
Just imagine. The ULTIMATE hunt would be hunting the MFers trying to destroy your ultimate hunting grounds, Earth.
We all know Predators are part of the Xenomorph universe. You're like the second other person I've personally come across that agrees that that damage and rubble is in the wrong place top be considered an outbreak; something broke in.
The original script may have has facehuggers involved but if you look at the corpses in the script/movie, those dead Engineers have holes in their heads/faces/body/chest.....and Predator weaponry is known to put holes in shit lol.
    Great stuff tho bro 💪🏾

My theory is that Engineers have two factions. One faction develops life, and the other faction destroys it. Its obvious that both Factions respect the Zenomorph species to a point of worship. They use their own bodies as tools to create life by useing the Zenomorph protein, it kills them in the process though. It seems that the Engineers at the Military compound had plans to go to Earth to give judgment but most of the Engineers had a change of heart after Jesus resurected and I speculate that he must of told the engineers that he paid for our sins in his death...Yet, one of them was not convinced so he sabotaged the entire military compound and put himself to sleep while everyone else were being murdered and hopefull to outlive the deacons made sure he woke up hundreds of years later until the events that happend in Prometheus.

I love your commentaries and insights to the Alien franchise.
I had this epiphany. All good movies are metaphores. This is my short version.
Oil is literally black goo. Chemical ENGINEERS have transformed the original goo into a variety of evolving toxic products, gasoline, kerosene, solvents that pollute air and water and will lead to humanity's destruction through climate change. And yes, there is a war between the "good" engineers and the "bad" engineers, those who stand with the petrochemical industry and those seeking clean alternatives. We stand a good chance of being victims of our own aliens.

Schrödinger: these movies are using the basic storyline from the Book of Enoch. The beings killed by David in Covenant were a creation of the enginneers. This is why Ridley Scott has the crew walk thru a field of wheat. If the beings on the planet were the original engineers (the original sons of God mentioned in the book of Enoch), Scott would have made the field barley.

So if the sound is the same then that means the black goo had gotten into an earthling male that then impregnated an earthling female that then in tern gave birth to a hybrid tentical monster that only then was able to "face hug" (not really but you get my point) an engineer to creat one of these exact morph species to give the same sound on the cave recording, I do think it was a morph but not the same one as in the end.
