I’ve seen this one wallet show up on Amazon every time I search for anything remotely related to EDC: The Buffway Slim Minimalist Front Pocket RFID Blocking Leather Wallet
Honestly, I always assumed it was garbage. Why? Because it’s insanely cheap, especially for a leather wallet. Plus, the brand name is weird. It’s one of those classic Amazon brand names that’s vaguely familiar but not quite right.
It kinda sounds similar to the high end wallet brand, Bellroy, but something is a little off, like whoever came up with it was definitely a non-native English speaker. Even the product description is kinda wonky. But branding aside, this wallet IS popular. I mean, it has over 89k reviews and an overall rating of 4.6 out of 5.
That’s insane! So either these are fake reviews, or people have very low standards for wallets, OR… this is actually an incredible little minimalist wallet. That’s what we’re about to find out.

I'm 5'6" with shoes on and about 125 lbs after dinner. I have a 35" chest; I usually wear XS tops and 28x28 pants (or 28x30 cuffed).
My best suit jacket size is 34 Short, but even 34S needs alterations (mostly shortening of the sleeves and jacket), so my best-fitting suits are custom.

I bought this wallet in 2019. minimal wear and holding up well with daily use. I don't feel like it is a "cheap feeling" wallet. But then I'm not trying to impress anyone when I occasionally take my wallet out of my pocket.
Nice! Which color did you go with?
I bought the smaller version of the wallet because it had all of the features that I needed. Like you, I wanted to spend more and get a higher quality product. I have much more expensive minimalist wallets, but my Buffway is my go to. It just works. I actually just ordered another one after approximately two years as it has stretched out due to carrying multiple cards in the front slot.
I went with the slimmer version of this wallet, which doesn't have the extra protrusion on the side with the additional card slots. It's still larger than what I used to carry, but not bad. The one benefit to the Buffway wallet being a little larger is that it stays oriented the way I want in my pocket; whereas my smaller wallet would always spin around. Just something to be mindful of.
I've had mine for over a year, and it still works great. It lets me slim down my pocket bulk significantly, love it!
having worked at a fine leather retailer, i can safely tell the quality by just look. when you presented your tan wallet next to it, it was pretty obvious. it just doesn't have the luster or distinguish details of a better made leather good. but it's been years that i've carried a wallet and i don't miss it. no more pocket bulges and losing my wallet with risk of multiple credit cards in the wrong hands. my phone case has a thin pocket that stores my id and a spare credit card in case my digital wallet trips up
I got my Buff way wallet a few weeks ago. It is thin & slim. Love the easy access holes for the license & debit card on each side. I don't have to fumble through a thick wallet when reaching for either of those anymore & I don't have a big fat bump for my front pocket. I carry 6 cards and 5 bills comfortably. I could probably carry 8 cards and 10 bills if I stuff it. I'm sure the quality won't hold up over time, but you're still not spending much if you buy 2.
I bought mine in 2019, and it’s held up great. Mine is more like a suede material, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
That’s good to hear! I’ll be curious to see how mine holds up too.
Great video! Thank you. Did you test the RDIF features? Does it protect your cards? Also, can you share the name of the wallet you like?
Hey man, amazing content! We need more product reviews
Thanks and noted!
I have this wallet and I've used it for about 6 months. It's fine. I mostly pay for things with my watch, so it really only holds my ID. Mine has survived at least one trip through the dryer. It warped a lot, but those warps have mostly come out with regular use.
I loved your honest take on the Buffway wallet - I feel the same way every time I come across something too good to be true. But with that many positive reviews, it's hard not to be curious! This is a great review. Keep up the great work!
It's not too good to be true. I've used this exact wallet for over 3 years and it is still in great condition. This review is not great. It is speculative, and snobby. "I'll be surprised if it lasts more than a year before the threads start to come out". Well he needs to be surprised then. It's weird to knock a product for something it hasn't done. This Buffway product is absolutely as great as the reviews would have you believe.
I have a buy for life mentality also. I hope you do youtube reviews of daily purchase such as wallets, combs, styling products and stuff like that which is a good buy.
I Bought one in 2018 and its still going strong. I liked it so much I purchased another for when this one dies. I love it.
I got the cheaper Travelambo back in 12/22/2016 and I still use it today!
Ashland leather hands down makes the best wallet. Beautiful. Durable. Made in Chicago.
I have a $30-$40 Buxton bifold wallet that came w/ separate 6 card slot RFID mini bifold w/ plastic ID window. Both are genuine leather which is fine from a durability standpoint. I’ve never used the main wallet. I’ve used the card wallet for 11 years now. The plastic window deteriorated after 5 yrs. The stitching at the fold shows some Irish pennants after 6-8 yrs w/ no negative effects wrt functionality. I currently carry 8 cards but could easily fit 4 more or about 10 bills. With 8 cards and its bifold construction, it’s still slimmer and smaller than many minimalist card holders and is soft and unnoticeable in the front pocket. I’ve been looking for this wallet just for the mini card wallet but Buxton discontinued this set😢
Gotta love Brock and his great reviews!
I appreciate that!
@@BrockMcGoff Ditto!
Mine is coming up on 2 years old (April) and it's holding up great.
Hey Brock, where did you get that denim shirt?
Suitsupply!

I got one, I use it for traveling when I need to leave my main wallet at home and only bring the cards I need for traveling
looking to buy this for traveling. Did you happen to check to see if the rfid blocking works?
Doesn’t really matter anymore. RFID isn’t a big issue as it used to be. The big concern now is those hackers hacking other peoples accounts online, or those skimmers that are camouflaged on gas pumps or store card readers. Wouldn’t even bother with rfid wallets anymore. Unfortunately almost all wallets sold today are rfid. It most likely does rfid protection
$50 is a lot for a wallet if you live outside of the States, what brand do you suggest in Europe?
I can see why you think the name is deceiving, sounds like boofway but I will def try it out based on ur review looks amazing, cant judge something that hasnt been tried itself, meaning me lol but awesome review, have a blessed one
I purchased the Buffway wallet last week and it is slim and effective for holding my most important cards and money.
I love the Amazon one, honestly 🤠
Please try that open sea leather wallet!
I had it for two years, great wallet.
The big question for me is does the rfid actually work?
I like it. It's sleek (well, to me)... I'd buy it.
Not quite as small but I definitely prefer my dango wallet I got on some mega sale a while back a lot more. Haven't had any issues yet... then again I've never had a wallet die in 2 years any way.
So, does it really has RFID blockage feature as claimed?
Not sure how to test that…
I've been using this thing for years now 🤣
Just wanted something cheap lol
Fair enough! Glad it’s held up 👍🏻
I was just looking for a wallet funny enough
Been long since you uploaded some style tips videos, would you mind sharing some new insights you have now?
Once I get a new studio space I can do more style vids. Did you see my Suitsupply try on?
@@BrockMcGoff I didn't as I can't afford suits right now and don't need them anyway. Hope you get your new studio space ASAP.
@@L.I.T.H.I.U.M it actually didn't feature any suits (mostly casual outfits and one sport coat/trouser combo). You might like it!
@@BrockMcGoff I'll watch it then.
Good video but can you do a review on a better wallet that is under 50$ plz. I have been on the hunt for a minimalist wallet that is a best bang for the buck. I have seen many adds online for a similar wallet but the price is 89$ so thats a hard pass for men.
This one is more than $50 but will last a lifetime - www.themodestman.com/popov-wallet-review/
What brand is your go to wallet?
Funny, I just added this wallet to my amazon cart this morning.
Hope you enjoy it!
@@BrockMcGoff well i watched your video and it made me 2nd guess it, but then i checked my shopping history and i bought one of the knockoffs for $8 before and it lasted me 4 years. I think this one will be fine for $17......i hope!
@@richardbently7236It will. I've used this exact wallet for over 3 years and it's in excellent shape.
Thank you for saying price instead of the stupid and redundant price point...
I wish there was a premium leather version. Id pay like 100
Aliexpress probably has a version for even cheaper
Negatory for me.
Any wallet with a plastic ID window is a huge no.
This has been my wallet for 3 years now. No threads came loose, no real signs of degradation. It's the best version of this concept I've ever found. It's clean, durable, thin, and absolutely does its job. This review is needlessly snobby.
Why are you looking at reviews for a wallet you’ve loved for three years?
its from Guangdong China lol
Idk man, complaining about a 16 dollar wallet being cheap feeling is just silly. If my budget was 20 bucks, sure I’d pick it up in a heartbeat. Plenty of testimonials on how it holds up in this comment section.
Not really complaining. Just offering my counter opinion. Most people don’t want to think about how something is so cheap (or if it should be). I’d like to get people to think twice about buying cheaply (and probably unethically) made stuff.
@@BrockMcGoffAh so this isn't a product review at all.
@@burntvirtueif it was a paid review, don’t you think it would have been positive?
