The fact the Cry of Fear devs made a better half life mod on such a limited budget and such a small team, shows how little Hunt Down the Freeman devs actually cared about their game and just wanted to make some bucks.

Hunt Down the Refund, even over 3 years after it's initial release, is regarded as a colossal achievement in Pyro's history
This is basically like someone took Half-Life and Metal Gear, combined it to make a shitty fanfic, and then made a game out of it in Gmod.

One fun thing: The soldiers in Black mesa and after the incident have a UCP Camouflaje pattern, wich was adopted in 2005 and served until 2015, and the black mesa incident happened was near 1998-2000
Black mesa incident supposadly happens in mid to late 2000s (that is mostly speculation but it is set abit in the future), do it could be theoreticaly possible

Everything about this game is just pure mayhem. Form the glitches all the way to the voice acting, It comes to the point that it's so bad it's good.
I love how everyone who isn't a stolen or reskinned HL2 model is so obviously a stock adobe fuse model with a bunch of OC elements.
The "aw we are so fucked" delivery never fails to kill me with laughter. Sometimes I remember this video is a thing and I just have to come back to it. It's glorious in how bad it is.
It's like he knew how the game would turn out.
Honestly, playing the game is worth it for like... five bucks or so. It's pretty good to play on like screen share with friends.
It's a trainwreck of such monumental proportions that despite seeing like two hours straight of videos bashing it and showing the game's problems, I was still blown away by how bad it was.
I've seen joke mods with more effort put in than this.

I'm SO glad you noticed the MGSV influence. When I was supposed to be an animator on the game, director man himself kept sending me MGSV trailers and saying "this is what we need to do for the cutscenes". But then he'd come back the next day and say "I just watched The Dictator, I want to do the cutscenes like this instead". And that happened about 3 or 4 times for different games/movies.
