An hour into the game, I remember turning to my friend and asking "How certain are we that I'm not actually the serial killer?" At the end of the game, he answered "Hundred percent. You just rampaged through the city murdering EMTs and homeless people, convinced you were solving a crime by collecting dead birds off the street. The fuck do you call that?"

After two years I just realized that the enemies in the library are victims of the fire that rosa talks about. In the first call with her she tells you that there was a big fire there explaining why some of the people inside looking really disfigured and burned.

It would for Silent Hill, but it just doesn't make sense here. "Oh, they're crazy so they arbitrarily crawl" because crazy people wouldn't just run at you as you'd expect of a form of locomotion endemic to our species for well over a million years. Three ways to improve the taser
1. Add durability to it
2. The more you use it, the longer the cooldown and shorter stuns
3. Instead of a supertaser, just give another one with full durability and reset cooldown with normal stuns
nah better idea , you get only 3 charges for it until you meet rosa who give you 3 charges again , you make the Tazer into a last resort weapon if you are trully fucked
Real tasers have something like a 40 percent failure rate, so make it so that there's a good chance that a taser just fails nearly half the time.
I would have just liked if it had a certain amount of battery or shots per level. Maybe it could have batteries you could find for it or something.
Or Use Batteries that you need to find through the stages
You only have 2 shots at the start and batteries had a chance of having mostly 1 charge and rare chance of having 2

A brilliant idea for a game you should cover is the Metro series. Metro 2033, Metro Last Light, and Metro Exodus. The first two are great atmospheric games while the third one expanded itself in new areas to some mixed results. The first two seem right-up your alley and fit the general look and feel of games you've reviewed in the past like Lost in Vivo and the one recently released: Cry of Fear. The overwhelming sense of dread that comes from the environment. Knowing that life on the planet is grim and the fate of the Planet even more so. There is a good balancing act between Ammo and money. As Ammo is no abundant. But if needed. You are able to use your money for Ammo. Dealing lots more damage. But are literally shooting your ammo away. While mutants tend to get a bit repetitive. They are less of the focus, where the human enemies are. Ironically, in a world filled with horribly mutated monsters. The humans are your biggest worry.

I think these videos are really great, videos like the worst song ever are funny and memorable but these videos despite the mass amount of editing and effort, they are worth it. they stay in my memory for a long time. The petscop video was amazing, and the cuphead review was too, and this one is as well. This mix of personal enjoyment and personality along with jokes and comedy is great. I love this channel, and the direction it's going. I don't expect for these videos to show up more due to its extremely difficult process of making them. But to have some from time to time like it is now would be great. Keep it up pyro.

I would love to see a modern day Condemned game. Maybe a spinoff of the original, but similar mechanics. One of the best "early" horror survival games there was. There was problems, but the atmosphere was great. Almost like Outlast, but you could fight back, with more enemies. This game was great, sucks I only remember it when I get recommended videos about it on the VERY long occasion.

I just finished playing Condemned for the first time and was trying to find a video explaining the plot and stumbled onto this- a pyro video on a game I have actually played?? Madness!
Anyway, my thoughts on the game are this:
*1. The Graphics*
I don't think the graphics look bad at all. Sure they're "outdated" but so is pixel art and no one gripes about that. It's just a style to me and personally, I like it. I mean, its low poly enough to run on my piece of junk laptop! I only had to save and restart because of lag every...30 minutes. That's not half bad.
*2. The Voice Acting*
Ethan always sounding undaunted didn't bother me. I mean, he lives in a city that's 90% feral drug addicts and 5% active serial killers. I think seeing your own dead body on the ground is the least of Ethan's troubles. That man has been through some things, lemme tell ya.
*3. The Sound*
(I played the steam port) Is that why there was so much awkward silence?!?! Flat out ruined the ending scene- I had no idea WHAT was going on with that.
*4. SCARY(?)*
I personally was not ever scared playing this game, and I consider myself a big baby coward. There was a few times playing in the wee hours of the night I felt a bit perturbed, but it was more nervous than afraid. Like "I stg if there's a crack head around that corner about to jump at me-"
Perhaps because I was only ever fighting people, and just assumed all the supernatural stuff was just Ethan being crazy. The mannequin bit was clever, but cheesy. It made me laugh- in a good way, though perhaps not the intended reaction. I feel a bit proud with how many people were scared while I was not -because I was too busy being annoyed that I kept dying-
Although, to be fair, I did have the gamma jammed WAY up cause I didn't know not being able to see anything was intentional

*5. The Detective Bits*
I was expecting a detective game, and was disappointed that it was more like a fighting game with some detective bits sprinkled in. It's a major let down that you don't even get to choose when to use the tools or which one. Just wait for the prompt and hit the button. I even tried turning off hints but those don't go away (did you notice how it totally ruins the locker jumpscare?) What's the point? Might as well have had it be a cutscene. I think they should have made it so you could use your forensic tools whenever. Then I could more easily find the birds with the gas detector, follow blood trails to find weapons or whatever, you get the idea (I guess how the second game does it, but I haven't played it).
It'd feel less forced if I could actually be a detective not just when the game decides but when *I* decide too. Plus it'd be fun. Wandering around, avoiding enemies with my UV light out. They did that a few times, but again, it was only because I was told to search for clues that I got to do it, and I just didn't bother since it was a straight path anyway and I didn't want to get jumped by enemies unarmed. At the very least maybe make the hint box a bit less obnoxious.
*6. The Combat*
(I'm mostly gonna be talking about everything after you lose the taser, since it's so OP)
....oh boy. I love and hate the combat. In a big open space with a couple of guys, LOVE it! In a tight space with 100 guys that each take 10 hits to kill? I'd rather die.
I played the whole game avoiding guns, only using melee and still I never got the hang of blocking.
(I call it the pacifist route, I did it for funsies. "You're under arrest!" **smacks with crowbar** **kicks while they're on the ground** "All in a day's work for an officer of the law" **leaves their corpse in the sewer** )
(I was actually inspired by Pyro always saying he plays games on max difficulty so I wanted to challenge myself. I really don't play games all that much.)
It felt arbitrary what hits got blocked and what just did damage anyway, and that's when Ethan decides to block at all. Maybe my system is just busted but I feel like other people block and attack with much greater ease than I could ever muster. Every closed combat fight felt like I was actually in a back alley fighting a hobo for scraps and losing, except at least irl I could block things for longer than 1 second. Especially with the awkward controls of moving the camera, if they ever got on my side I would just give up cause by the time I could reposition they'd have already wounded me beyond salvaging.
And don't even get me started on enemies with no weapons just grabbing you and drinking half your health bar before you can react. Maybe just cause I never figured out how to shake loose w a controller but I'd just give up if I ever got grabbed. Not even worth it.

The story is...nonexistent. I mean you already know I only found this video because I didn't understand the story at all. I was SO SURE it was going to turn out that Ethan was actually crazy and was the real Serial Killer X (great name by the way) all along, and that's why Vanhorn was helping you- but instead it's like...something something cult stuff, idk. It seems Pyro is a big fan of vagueness. I, however, am not. (And no I'm not saying I like the explanation of the sequels, it sounds dumb and probably wasn't the original intent)
All in all good game 7/10

I know commenting on an old video is pointless but this is my 4th or 5th time watching this video, there’s a reason why I’m drawn back to watching this video, the petscop video and the cuphead video, and that’s because the quality shows, you took time making this and put in effort and all of that makes for a video that is damn near perfect

Honestly can you imagine a game that starts as a shooter with thriller elements and when they present you with choices it changes not only the "ending" but the game as well. The more merciless your decisions are the more the game looks less like a thriller and more like cod. Saturation is bumped up, music is more epic and exciting. And then. In the final fight, they play flight of the fireflies and you fight against the final boss and the last victory cut scene is you realising the opposition are the good guys. You became the villain. And the visuals, bgm, sfx all return to the cold harsh original version and most of the people you killed in the last half were good. In contrast if you were more merciful the bleak atmosphere stays but you see the aspirations of people in the way. not everyone is faceless anymore. and the ending is bittersweet maybe. Idk

The way you talk about the game in a truthful light without sacrificing the sporadic wtf nature of your normal videos is really nice and refreshing out of reviews of games. You managed to get me interested in a game that I had almost no idea even existed. I would really love to see more of these videos from you even if they don't get as many views or they don't get you as much money, even if that is a bit much to ask of a creator.

As a games art and design student, I love these game reviews you do, because it's so insightful into how a real gamer experiences the game as opposed to someone who made it would experience it. Designing games makes you have more respect for how much work goes into making it, but also can make you blind or more forgiving to some of the faults that stop the game from being perfect.
