The elderly gentleman who lost his wallet and you guys found it was such a joy seeing him relieved and happy because of your effort looking for him afterwards. Definitely he must feel there is hope in our fellow man. Good job and a good example. Cheers.
Just found your channel, awesome job on the Wallet, what a neat and refreshing thing to do, it’s always nice to see the honesty in people and doing the right thing, the biking community overall is a bunch of good people 😎🤘
What about suspension performance when comparing seat bag and handlebar bag setup which adds up to the « rider weight » on the shock and fork, versus racks on seat stays and fork lowers, which adds up to the « bike weight » ?
Been commuting with mine since 2012 and it's still going strong! The clunky rattle can get old, but a little cloth gorilla tape on the rack and the bag goes a long way.
How refreshing to see honest, caring people in the world, very rare these days. Can you please let me know how those bags performed did they affect the handling of the bike very much? I have a 2016 Ibis Mojo, 26" wheels, would they work on that dual suspension bike? I'm looking to get into bikepacking and don't really want to buy another bike.
I kind of want to see you hit a 3ft drop with that setup. Nice work with the wallet. It's been too long since I've slept in a tent. Don't know if I could spend that much time in the saddle.
Brian Vaughn Lol I actually did hit a few small drops and some janky trail the next day. i’ll try to put them into a follow up video. I have been doing so much bikepacking recently my tent is like home. 🚵♂️🚵♂️
Your bike looks like it's a carbon frame. Typically it's not recommended having these types of rack tied to a carbon frame/fork. Would you know if the rear rack can be mounted on a carbon hard tail MTB?
I just bought a Specialized Rockhopper Sport. It's a hardtail. I am planning on putting my Bontrager rear rack on the bike for my MTB journeys in Marin County. Instead of using my Bontrager pannier, I am thinking of getting a Topeak rear rack bag. Will the Topeak MTX Ex fit on my Bontrager rack? I am hesitant on buying a Tetra Rack since I my bike is a hardtail and I have the mounts that will work with my Bontrager rack. Thoughts anyone?
I have a question about the fold out paniers. Do they anchor down to the rack in some way? Also the setup in your video makes it look like a loaded panier would rub against the rear wheel/gears - does this happen when on rough tracks. Txs.
I would change the velcro, and I would upgrade those zippers. Definite weak points. It's so worth it to have gear that just works and works over longer periods of time.
I have this bike racks fron and back, but use itwit panieer bags. U do need additional parts that are sold separtely "Topeak Tetrarack Side Frame Set" to avoid tangeling with the wheel
I would like to buy tetraRack M2 equipment for my vacation this summer. But with the micro vibrations caused by the terrain, I'm afraid that the device will slide down and finally touch the wheel. Did you have this problem.
Anybody know of of a 1 person light weight tent that would work for a tall person? I need at least 94 inches to keep head and feet from touching walls and condensation.
I would not ever need nor want that amount of max weight for the packing that I do. My full kit with a lot of extra stuff is well under the suggested max weight. running equipment at its max is a recipe for disaster on any unsupported trip.
Lait, I believe the M1 works with Topeak MTX / RX TrunkBags, RackTime® Snapit / Vario system bags. Make sure to check Topeaks website to verify. www.topeak.com/global/en/products/327-Racks/1285-TETRARACK-M1
Hey there, I wanted to ask you about the front rack. I am seriously thinking about buying one and use instead of the handlebar setup for bikepacking trips and seriously cannot find any solid user feedback about those. Thanks for the information in advance. Safe trips.
@@ryanmamaril7524 I was thinking about one water proof sack on top of the rack and I am making a special sack for the 3L water bladder to put on top instead of hauling it on my back. I am using full suspension bike and there is no room for such a big frame bag.
Hello. Your friend has a bag stick installed on the handlebars of a bicycle. Can I get the name? This is very convenient when there are a lot of wires. 3:45 and 4:01
Great video man! I’m guessing that the Michigan coast to coast ride was cancelled. Sucks Iceman was also. If you get a chance check out the dragon trail in Michigan being built 47 miles of Machine cut single track.
Well everyone knows fly fishermen are gentlemen. And deserve to have there lost possessions returned to them by good blokes on bikes. Cos bike riders are also gentlemen.
สวัสดีจากประเทศไทย, Hello from Thailand Ok. Super cool stopping for a wallet and having the opportunity returning it to the owner... I will get the racks for my full suspension Java Furia. Thanks for the Tetra-rack review.

Came here because of the bikepacking, subbed because of the relief and happiness you brought to the fly fisherman.
Same here
Same 😎🤘
That return made Me feel Really GOOD Look how Happiness is Spread!
One of the coolest things about your ride was that it started from your front door without having to drive anywhere!
Daniel seems like a really cool guy, it was so nice of you guys to make his day better by returning his wallet. All the best!
This is the best bikepacking video I've ever seen; thanks for reaffirming my faith in humanity. You both are outstanding humans.
The human spirit is alive....Epic trip, nice video!!!
Fantastic ride, Great job giving the wallet back!! excellent scenery! glad the racks worked! I'm rackin mine in the next week or so!
raaaad adventure!... and bonus points for the wallet fiasco!
Crazy how we found the guy who lost that wallet.
Awesome gesture by returning the wallet! Keep it up guys.Your my bike touring heroes! Next to the Bike Wanderer.
Was a great adventure. James loved the Hike-a Bike sections.
What a great review of the racks, keep up the great work, I have a full squish so will probably get these and the bags.
These racks and bags might just be the solution for my dual suspension merida 120. Nice ride up there gents. Absolute perfection 👍
Hot springs. Ghost town. Gravel. Alpine lake. Cool gear. Epic day out!!
Sweet setup and awesome out there in BV! One of my favorite areas in colorado.
Great real world review . thanks !
Wow.. a couple of days his wallet was missing.. imagine the stress of that.. you guys totally rock. 5:10 to see it folks who have not yet
What a cool adventure ! U guy’s got a beautiful landscapes in US ! Greetings from Poland ;)

Nice video.. nice setup with the topeak tetrapack.. maybe I should get one too. And great job retrieving that wallet for the gentleman. God bless
My first time viewing your video's. Great job. Humans being awesome! I just subscribed! Turning on the bell! Two thumbs up 👍👍
Great video and lost & found story also.
Very sweet bro..👍 your viewers from indonesia

Sweet!!!! I've been looking for a way to mount some panniers on my hardtail with no eyelets! Thanks!
I like your setup bikepacking.
@ 4:18 Sammy Hagar, loved that from the soundtrack for Heavy Metal
Awesome!
Thanks for sharing your adventure! You will be rewarded in some way... Karma!
Nice review
Subscribed for bringing the wallet back:-)
Crazy that we found the guy who owned the wallet.
Same. Stand up guys they are.
For me the same!
That looks kinda fun. Maybe I should try bike packing. Great work on the wallet btw!
RideLabs I could not believe we found the guy to give him that wallet back. He told us that he lost it the day before.
fantastic,,,
Returned the wallet that's awesomeness! Siskel and ebert give two thumbs up!!!
NICE VIDEO
Those bags look clutch!
Trail Features I was pretty impressed with them. They are also awesome on my bike commute to work.
Been commuting with mine since 2012 and it's still going strong! The clunky rattle can get old, but a little cloth gorilla tape on the rack and the bag goes a long way.
great video -when you open up the pannier-like side bags - is there any protection between the bag and the wheels?
That was so nice with the wallet :)

Wild that St Elmo hasn't rotted out, must be a dry area overall.
Well I was most interested in how the bags did on single track.
Nice work with the wallet? The M2 rack says it is only compatible with seat stay widths up to 125mm. Are your seat stays
How much ❤️👍 weight the rear luggage rack can carry,!??
Is there a link to the next day’s ride? To see how the rack performs when the suspension is more active - thanks for great video
My question too.
this is more about your panniers than the bike racks. how does the front rack attach?
Tire size and rear spacing would be great info to supplement this review. And the frame material of your bike.
Cool ride…I think I’m gonna snag that Topeak M1, but can you tell me what glasses you are rocking?
How much travel for your dropper post. Will it work with 150mm travel post? Thanks

I don’t think the Topeak MTX bag will work with any other brand rack system because they have a very unique track.
Is it ok to have that rack on Carbon as wing arm?
I have a question about the fold out paniers. Do they anchor down to the rack in some way? Also the setup in your video makes it look like a loaded panier would rub against the rear wheel/gears - does this happen when on rough tracks. Txs.
The paniers do anchor to the rack through a bungee system. In my experiences with this system, I never had any issue with rubbing.
@@JFRides Thanks a bunch. Think I will buy this and try it out.

finding AND returning the wallet......wow. way cool.
those topeak racks and bags, what does that setup roughly cost? they appear pretty sweet.
250 EUR in europe
Hi. I'm thinking about this carrier and these bags. Don't bags get tangled in wheels? Thank you.

never had this issue even riding mountain bike trails. Obviously you need to make sure to tighten everything up and test them before use.
What tent is it you have?
RS Sir
Anybody know of of a 1 person light weight tent that would work for a tall person? I need at least 94 inches to keep head and feet from touching walls and condensation.
what about the max weigth 7 kg in front and 9 kg rear have you try to put more than this on it ?

Good Karma coming your way for that wallet return! Great vid, too!
I was just happy to help that guy out. The riding wasn't bad either ; )
Hello james. I got a tetrarack m1. What trunk bags are compatible with m1. Please let me know.

What sunglasses are those? They look cool

The M1 rack worked very well for me. there are several different pannier options.
@@JFRides thanks for the information, I guess I'll have to get one :). Be safe.
@@leszekruminski7812 I like panniers better than handlebar bags too. Lower center of gravity.

What's wrong with your chain tension in the title pic?
I like to run the chain super loose lol 😂
I guess that you need to buy a Topeak rain cover for touring?
What sunglasses are those at the beginning??
Tifosi Aethon.
@@JFRides any chance of a quick review of them and the kortal helmet
What state.?
Colorado
Xanadu,
Did you put the tetraracks on a carbon frame? Everything worked out okay?
I did and it is not recommended by topeak but it worked perfectly for this specific setup.
@@JFRides Thanks! Have you done any more bikepacking trips with this setup?
@@michaelwtapp I have used it on 5 trips so far over 500 miles.
@@JFRides Oh wow, good to hear. I have a specialized diverge carbon sport. I had written off these racks but now it may not be a bad idea.
Out of curiosity, how much weight do you guestimate is typically in your rear bags?
