  • I had to make my own top rear rack so that my dropper seat post and suspension still works. I started with a 30 lbs. MTB ended up with over 60 lbs. fully loaded.

Nice! I love diy solutions. I mounted my Aeroe cradle on my front suspension arch using an aluminum mount which I fabricated. Pretty solid.

nice, I ended up getting metal loops to mount the front cradle. They make a good product, but you can always make it better :)

Thanks. Maybe making the rear top rack out of plastic would be better?

Make the same support but use a chopping board instead of wood

Great video. I was just thinking this week about how to use my full suspension carbon bike in a similar way. This helps a lot.

cool set up. I prefer Bikepacking on my full squish. easier on the body during long rides. Arizona trail sounds incredible

Now that you completed the trail, are there items you would have left behind, and/ or things you would have done different?
Thank you for posting. What a crazy route, with closures everywhere!
You mentioned bike loaded/unloaded weight; but how much weight did you put on your back?
Will you carry tube/boot next time?
Consider doing a detailed breakdown on gear, location, weight, and maybe cost (of bike, gear, food, bags, campsites, hotels, snacks, etc.)
Looks like an adventure! What’s next; Colorado trail!?

thank you for the feedback. Those are all great questions and I will make video about this topic very soon. Btw. I had a tube and duct tape and sealer, but that cut was soooooo big. No chance of fixing it and finishing the rest (150 miles)

any reason why I should go for aero rack over old man for a full suspension bike? for me, it's being able to take the rear wheel off with a QR thru axle...I do that in public when I don't want someone to ride away with my bike.

I can't speak about the Old Man racks since I have never tried one, but they also seem like a good option.

Hi Jurgen. Love the innovation. Two questions.
    1. Could you have flipped the rail so that the hoop portion faced backwards?
    2. What saddle is that?
Great channel. I am subscribed. Never thought I’d find a former DH world champion bikepacking! 😊
