    Its cool, but idk about putting that kinda weight and forces on the seat stays like that. Seems a better idea would be to mount to the rear tires axle to take the load and use the seat stay as simply a balancing support.

    Anyone know if the TetraRack M2 would fit the YT Decoy Base 29? As the name suggests, this is a 29" wheel. The rear triangle is aluminium on the model I'm interested in.

    • @PaulRafferty
      @PaulRafferty Před 4 lety +4

      Actually, I'll answer my own question: No, it will not fit the YT Decoy Base 29 because the angle of the rear triangle is only around 20 degrees. The manual for the TetraRack M2 (downloadable from their site) says that it should be at least 30 degrees.

    Does it fitt a fatbike?

    This video missed a crucial step for me, on how the straps loop round.. as they fell off when I loosened the screws..
    Another thing and im really disappointed in it that because the sliding track doesn’t go the full length of the carrier the bag rattles at the back where its not connected to the track, I tried the same bag on two other bikes one with the original carrier and another with the seat post clamp carrier and none of them rattle
    Im now going to have to some how modify it

    Nice rack (Tetrarack M2 MTB Rear rack system), unfortunately doesn't fit my e-bike Merida Nine 400. I waited two months for delivery and I will have to return it. I'm disappointed.

      Please let me know if you find a rack to fit. I have an ebike too, Merida e120 and struggling to find something to fit. Was hoping this might stretch to a 185mm width but guess not.

    why not make the straps (or something more permanent) to stay on the bike and some slick system to remove it much more easy?

    The intent of this rack for a rear suspension bike is admirable, but the design is poor. Cantilevered over the rear with no support. Had a friend follow me on a trail, the rack move up n down uncontrollably and side to side motion was violent. More riding and the rack would blow apart. Had to fashion a brace to this control the violent motion. Lock out the rear shock on trail rides. Rack will not handle 26lbs.

    Of course the biggest problem with this system, is that nylon straps will stretch over time. A better option would be too use Specially designed Zip-ties. With extra Zip-ties. I ride a recumbent bike. Two wheeled and I was able too install a rear rack and under seat rack. Some times you just have to throw away to box, you have to think so far out of it.
