A video of how the straps are supposed to be configured would be nice. The written instructions left much to be desired and every time I try it I feel like I'm missing something simple.
Have bought one and am installing it. The printed ideogam instructions are not good and this video is very helpful. The key issue is the brackets are attached to the frame with a nylon webbing using a ratchet system. Given the undoubted size of Thules Design team, I am nonplussed by the hassle in fitting this system. Eg; the hex screw heads are on the inside of the bracket, making it harder to access and turn. The instructions are unclear and ambiguous, the ssytem could surely have been better designed. I have no doubt I will get there but for an expensive ($159AUD) rack of this sort, be prepared for some fiddly work before it is right. I am putting it on a 29" eMTB as this was the only rack I could find to attach to the frame. The option of putting it on the front forks is another point, but I would be unlikely to use that option.
Buying this at the weekend! Have the handlebar mount, saddle bag, front iPhone storage bag and 2 black totes! Good quality gear, buy it!
so the sport rack does not support panniers. but it can take 25kg. and the tour rack, which does support panniers can only manage 10kg on the back. i really don't understand the specific details on these racks. given its pretty much the only option for dual suspension bikes..a little MORE information on the website and videos might be helpful.. so frustrating.
black on black is a really poor way to display anything. (you can't see it) . try using a blue or yellow back ground and film with natural indirect sun light. I couldn't tell if you are putting it on the front or back of the bike.
Great looking rack. If you can confirm that it will fit a Sonders Fatty ebike which has the 5" tires I will order one!

I just bought one,one of the ratchet straps isn’t in the same position as the others but they all need undoing to put onto the bike,am worried that’s where I’ll have problems and this video seems to be for their older rack! If the sports rack holds more weight I’d be shocked and pissed that I went with the tour one

Cool rack but that release key is such a bs. It's much easier to use small screwdriver that the key. It's such a pain and fiddling to get the key's pin under the mount pin in order to push it up, I'm not even sure if it's possible to undo all 4 mounts on my rack with it. And if any dirt goes in there, good luck.

The video DOES NOT SHOW how the straps are mounted. I received mine -- the straps were all off the the rack. The printed booklet with the rack is practically useless. My LBS wrench is clueless.

Yes, this rack will fit on a road bike. Please note that if it is a carbon bike frame, you should check with the frame manufacturer first if mounting onto the carbon fork is allowed.

We cannot guarantee a 100% compatible installation for all bikes, as there are many different kinds of models, each with their own suspension, weight, frame size and/or accessories.

Black shirt, on black bike with black components makes this useless to watch. Add that there is no voice over instruction and this is nothing more than expensive art project. I hope the rack isn't as big of a waste of time.
