Nadal with Western Grip topspin forehand in pickleball, that's gonna be scary. I've already started attempting Semi-Western Forehand, the spin you get on the serve is insane tbh, but it's not consistent enough to use as a weapon yet. Further testing required!! Federer... Yeah, let his Return/Volley play do the entire "make others look bad" work xD

R/V (Return & Volley) - The slick paddle / slick ball combo and inability to really grip/spin the ball forces you to get to net ASAP. Kinda like playing tennis on grass where you want to avoid the bounce...
It looks like the courts we use to teach 3 year olds how to play tennis. Look up red ball courts.

@@huguettepompette If my info is correct, the game was invented by a family that bought a house with a Badminton court in the backyard and they didn't know what it was, so they invented their own game.to play on it. I discovered, though, that there is a difference: the "kitchen" of No Volley Zone line is 6 inches further back on a Pickleball court. Either that, or the Badminton courts I played on were laid out wrong. It's a helluva a fun game. If you haven't tried it, You should.

@@ruggedrat I'm saying that Pickleball has different strategies, but not just that, it has MORE strategy. There is much more thinking and planning involved. I've played both Tennis and Ping Pong, and I like both sports, but as a 50 year tournament Chess player, and a Go player, Pickleball appeals to me much more.

Not quite. They are high tech paddles that cost $150+. They are usually graphite or carbon fiber composite faces with a polypropylene honeycomb core. They offer far better feel, control, and power as well as lighter than old-school wood paddles.

Yes she does! Truth be told, for the time being, Competitive Pickleball is still in it's infancy. Much like tennis was wit low payouts, etc.
Give this sport approx 5 years (maybe 10 at most), it'll end up skyrocketing the payouts to all pro players. The women in this game have an equal chance at beating the men here honestly, which is why Mixed Doubles are a popular format (on top of Standard Doubles).
Also fun fact, apparently you make more in these tournaments playing Doubles than you do Singles. Whereas Tennis is vice versa.
at least they dont have to worry about breaking the strings...
You can still break the core inside the paddles over time... Though depending on how rough you are with them, they could last you 1-3 years each paddle.
Unless you want grit on your surface, in which case don't get the Ben John's paddle lol. I've been hearing that the gritiness (helps with spin) almost dies out completely in the first 3 hours, makes me scared to purchase one with my playstyle v.v

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the world. It is brilliant because all injury risks are minimized (small court, light paddle, rubberized wiffleball), while still emphasizing all the important movements (forward, backward, side to side, squatting, lunging, jumping, twisting). Someone who is less fit or older or has joint injuries from tennis could play and really enjoy themselves just like a fit healthy person. The more fit you are, the better workout you get, because you CAN go for every shot, like these ladies. I've been addicted for five years. I also lift, and play soccer and volleyball. 👍

Was good viewing. Although I'd prefer touch tennis which still allows one overhead serve with a smaller racket and the softer balls. The wooden rackets/bats look like a cross between a Ping Pong paddle and a beach bat.

You can, but if the opponent has great reflexes (which at the pro level, is common) then expect your drive to be sent back with twice the amount of spin, power and possibly angle.
