  • Can you embroider polymer clay? - Oh yes you can, and it is quick and simple to do. In this easy step by step tutorial, I show how to add thread and beads to polymer clay. With tips throughout, all you need to do is sit back, relax, and watch as the process unfolds.

    I use size 11 seed beads and embroidery thread.
    The small round cutters can either be bought in a set specifically used for polymer clay from many shops on Etsy, (I originally got mine from MyMandarinDucky on Etsy - www.etsy.com/uk/listing/21137... ) or somewhere like PCUK Tools - www.pcuktools.com/?msclkid=a1... but I have also bought them direct off eBay, where you can search under ‘Cord Pin End Crimp Terminal Wire Copper Connectors’, to find similar cutters, but you will get a huge amount all the same sizes.
    Ginger Davis Allman’s website, The Blue Bottle Tree is here - thebluebottletree.com/?msclki... and her video about baking thin polymer clay is here - www.bing.com/videos/search?q=...

    What a GREAT TUTORIAL!!!! I have often wished that (especially) measurements were included in each lesson. You went above and beyond that by explaining (and including substitutes) each step of the way. On top of that, you showed us some earrings that are versatile (in that you showed numerous color options) and beautiful! Thank you so much for all of this! 👍😊♥️🧡💛💚💙💜

      Oh I know, I have been told that so many times now, and some people are actually using them to help them to sleep ;) I often add asmr as a tag, but feel a bit weird about adding it into the title ;) in case people then don't like the fact it is a step by step tutorial? I am very happy if my voice helps people to relax, and I am flattered that people seem to like it. Thanks so much for your comment :)

    Delightful. I can see needing some sort of a grid to do the cross stitch. If you know of a good tutorial to link to, that would be lovely, since it isn't your thing. It's not really my thing either, but maybe it will be in future!

      Yes absolutley you can do it :) This is a nice easy technique, some of my tutorials take a bit more practice, but as with any new craft, don't expect miracles first time, be gentle with yourself, just relax into it and enjoy the process and have some fun :)

    Very nice! I use a cut up tee shirt on a backing tray. Is that ok instead of the card on a tile? it’s simply what I have handy.

    • @FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals
      @FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals  Před 2 lety

      I have never tried a tee shirt, so honestly have no idea ;) If the tee shirt is a cotton or natural fibre one, it should bake okay - I would try it first and stay very close to the oven to be able to remove it at the first sign of problems. If there are any manmade fibres in there, they can burn at low temperatures, which is why I am a little hesitant. I have baked cotton and natural fibres though at these temperatures with no problem. So hopefully it is a really good solution to not having card and a tile to hand :)
