- This simple petal cane is fun to do and gets good results. Choose to keep it ‘flame’ coloured or create subtly blended petals in any colour you choose. This is a step by step polymer clay tutorial, so sit back, relax, and watch as the process unfolds.

Shout away, you deserve it, I am so happy for you - brilliant - the first of many I am sure :) Thank so much for letting me know too, it's made my day :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals Thank you, oh Wise and Wonderful Teacher!
This will make the perfect fire in my roombox fireplace!
Fantastic, thanks so much Gillian :)
Oh, this flame cane will be VERY useful for me, perfect way to show fire on dioramas when we play D&D :D easier to make the cane than trying to paint it, AND, doing it this way, it´s 3D :D 💜💜💜 (yeah yeah, I´m a nerd)
Thank you so much for showing us this one :) 💜
Brilliant, that sounds like loads of fun :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals It is! I´ve only been playing for a few months (my hubby is dungeon master, he leads the game) and I´ve been helping him build the miniature scenes, and I have to say, it´s been a joy combining all sorts of different crafts to create this miniature world! the jewelry making, creating canes, painting, playing around with resin, with everything I´ve learned, this opened a whole new world of possibilities with this new hobby, AND, after 15 years, my hubby finally understands the joy in crafting in general! and I get to teach him how to use things for a change lol he´s been a bit scared about the polymer clay for awhile, so afraid that he will mess up, but I´ve been showing him a few of your videos and keep on telling him that it´s ok if it doesn´t turn out like he wants to all the time, to just have fun with it, and that you can do soo much more than "just" jewelry and sculptures with it :)
So, thank you for helping me helping him :D 💜💜💜 AND for getting my crafting supplies budget up!! hahaha
The work you share, it changes lives in ways you can´t imagen 💜 :) and I REALLY appreciate YOU and everything you do :)
@@CrixJoki Oh wow, that sounds fantastic, so much fun, and so great that you can do it together. Thank you for such a wonderful comment, you have truly made my day - big hugs :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals Glad I could give some joy back :D 💜💜💜
💗👏🏻🔥💗👏🏻 Gorgeous, Thank you for all you share Fiona, you are so very inspiring 😊👏🏻💗
Thank you very mucn Shelly :)
Fabulous! I really loved the little campfire. The petal cane reminded me of tulips, for some reason...one I had years ago, called Greenland, was pink and white, with a green "flame" down the center of each petal. This technique captured that. One interesting fact about those tulips was that they would blossom a little differently each year...more green, less green, more white...until one year they came up almost completely white, then, as if embarrassed at "forgetting" their original coloration, they "blushed", turning completely a soft pink colour!! How I loved those cheeky little changelings!
Oh wow, those tulips sound amazing, and yes, this cane would be perfect for them :)
Thanks, Fiona! I can't wait to try this!
Thanks so much Gail :)
Love those colors! What fun!
Thanks very much Joyce :)
Beautiful as always! I love the 'campfire' at the end! Thank you for another wonderful tutorial!

Muchas gracias Alicia :)
Thank you Fiona. I love your "teases" on Facebook, they create so much anticipation. This one doesn't disappoint! This cane is wonderful. I see possibilities of using it in a coral seascape in the near future. And of coarse, the campfire is so sweet! You are so talented and generous.
Thank you so much Ellie :)
And another amazing video from this talented lady. Such an inspiration to watch and learn from. Thank you!

Oh boy! I love it!
Thanks so much Colleen :)
I’ve been looking forward to a new tutorial from you, and wouldn’t you know, I’ve been trying to make a flame for a phoenix bird! I’ve managed something I was going to accept, but this is so much nicer! Thank you!
Perfect timing then :) I can't wait to see your phoenix, sounds wonderful :)
Absolutely beautiful as always Fiona!! ❤
Thank you so much :)
I must have talked you up. I was getting a bit worried when I saw how long it had been since your last upload, and I mentioned it on another channel a few days ago.
Beautiful work as always!!!
Thanks so much :) I have been taking some family time which will continue for a while. The videos may be few and far between, but I should still manage to get some out for people :)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals If you never posted another, I would be fine, as long as you were well. Thank you for bringing everything you have to us, and sharing with us. You're very much appreciated.
Wow! I just came across your channel! I like your projects, very cool! I'm subscribing to your channel! Thanks for sharing these, like them all! 💜🙋Pam

This is a great idea! The cane is very versatile and I can't wait to try it out, thank you!!
Thanks so much Lucy :)
You make it look so easy! Thank you for the video!
Thanks so much :)
I love the well thought out approach you use, you’re helped me think more about the design aspects of what I want the outcome to be, THANK YOU’
So glad it was helpful, thanks Michelle :)
You are very talented. You have awesome ideas. 👏👍👌😘😘
Thank you very much :)
Gorgeous as always but I'm thinking you may need a fireplace. I know you can make one if anyone can. Oooh, a stone one. I don't do polymer clay due to arthritis. I just tell others what to do. LOL 😂💞
ha ha, maybe it needs one, I was thinking more of a camp fire ;) Thanks so much Susan :)
This one is safe in my Fiona Abel-smith folder! Ready for when I get my clay out again! 🙂 A really lovely cane, thank you, I can see so many possibilities here!
Brilliant, thanks so much Liz :)
Wow great tutorial, thank you very much! I guess one can also make nice leaves if using green ahades. Will love to try it out 😀
Yes, leaves would be great too :)

Thank you :)
Oh Fiona~ I am disappointed. I love your sculpture tutorials. Please consider doing a fish vase in your own techniques so you can share your amazing skills with us. I just enjoy your tutorials so much and learn a lot.
Great job on video. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so much. What happen to tiger video? I can not find it . I really liked it.
Thanks so much :) Tiger video? I do have a slide show on my website blog showing my tiger face cane in stages, that's a;; I can think of. Link to my website in video description above.:)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals thanks😁
This is so cool..or hot 🔥 😁 I cannot wait to try this myself. 😍
have fun with it, thanks so much 🙂
Can you show us a 3D vase. So you not teaching the fish but something else that isn’t going against showing a workshopped technique?
What brand of pasta machine do you use? I will look at the other page to see if it’s listed. I want to buy one but wow the reviews are everywhere and I’d like to get an inexpensive one or if I need one that is more costly I will buy it used. Just don’t know what brands are good. Thank you for another wonderful video.
Thanks Joni, I get asked about which machine I use a lot, so have an answer prepared - The pasta machine I use is an Atlas machine, at home I use the 180 (a wider machine) and when travelling or on workshops, I use the 150. I have always used the Atlas machines and I find them very good for Polymer Clay. However, there are other very good makes, such as the Imperia machines, and of course those made specifically for use with Polymer Clay. Ginger Davis Allman, from The Blue Bottle Tree has a number of articles on Pasta Machines - thebluebottletree.com/?s=pasta+machines which may prove helpful in choosing a machine.
Here is a link to an Atlas machine, (for reference only, as obviously there are many other places both online, and in stores where they can be found), and it is worth searching around till you can find a good deal on one. I hope that is of some help. www.amazon.com/Marcato-8320-Machine-Cutter-Instructions/dp/B0009U5OSO/ref=sr_1_3?crid=BPH5K7P26RQT&keywords=atlas+pasta+machine&qid=1556786279&s=gateway&sprefix=atlas+pasta+machine%2Caps%2C211&sr=8-3
So I hope something in that stock answer helps a little ;)
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals thank you so very much...you are a wonderful artist and teacher.

I need to check with you on selling items that have the flame pedal cane. I used them on a couple of my dragons' wings. Is this acceptable? I don't want to do anything improper. I have only sold on of the 2 I made. If you say so, I will not use this technique. I don't want to offend or do anything wrong. I love learning from you. But I will not mess up your copywrited material or even the things that you teach us. For example, I know that we can not make and sell the fish. I'm only making and selling dragons and such from my imagination. But I have been learning canes from you. I hope you understand. Please don't be angry with me. Just tell me what to do to make this right. You are a GREAT teacher and I enjoy all the videos. Perhaps if I buy them? You tell me and I will do it. Sincerely worried.
Bless you that is so kind of you to ask - of course you can sell them :) The techniques I do on CZcams are free for everyone to use - even the finished design pieces - I only ask that people do not teach others the designs as I would of course need them to watch my video on how to do it so that I can keep earnming some money and make more videos for people. So please do feel free to sell what you make :) You can always mention where the designs came from if you wish, as for me any publicity is good publicity. So have fun, relax and I wish you lots of success selling your items 🙂
@@FionaAbelSmithPolyOriginals Oh, I am so glad. Of course I will credit you. That is no problem. I am so glad you answered. I was worried. Now, I'm just going to have fun. Thank you so much.
@@LtRee96se I am so glad to put your mind at rest - enjoy, have fun and sell loads 🙂
