Honestly I think it's been far too long since we've had a Primaris Lieutenant. Needs a refresh badly!
Isn’t there one in the recruit edition of the starter sets?
@@tubulartater8960 it's a joke
@@runamuck840 I think I tried making one lol
Yeah I forgot space marines have so few models
This comment is 1 year old and we still somehow are in need of lieutenants. It would be great if 10th edition came with a new one. Like, with Tyranid armor or something...
I grew up in Nottingham UK. We all stood with a wide stance back in the day.
Nottingham, more like Knots-in-hurricane
"picks up lone genestealer, half a dozen of his pals cling on to him for dear life"
they just don't want to see a dear friend go.
Like those little red monkey things I always forget the name of
Yup.
I hate having to stuff my tyranids into foam.
@@michaelspitz9151 Barrel O' Monkeys
@@eberwald4438 thank you o enlightened one
I love how the METAL Phoenix Lord being sold in 2021 didn't make the list but a Primaris unit released in the same year did.
When you don't use primaris they all can get changed lol
Metal aint all bad
@@sprinkleLPs it's the principle here. They have let a model get so outdated, they're still using the old, OLD material.
@@andrewmcnally5013 i get that but new doesnt always mean better. Id love every army to get every model updated but metal minis always have a special place to me
@@sprinkleLPs Lemme just throw this brick of a 2nd Edition full metal Space Marine Dreadnaught your way.
The avatar of Khaine wants a word.. This dates back to early 2nd ed.
It's supposed to be the embodiment of death, imagine one day a plastic Avatar the size of an Imperial Knight, with both sword and spear options...
It'll never happen but I like to dream...
Its immediately what I thought of when opening this vid. I think its dinkier than most factions dreadnaughts at this stage. At least the Warlocks/Warp Spiders featured, still rocking those 1992-1993 sculpts.
@@timtheenchanter6418 Completely agree! I had to laugh when he talked about "3rd ed" plus the Farseer was done in plastic a few years back and now also has a jetbike model as well along with the warlock.
@@CptnAwsmBalls Would be nice, and it's a good dream. I stick to my FW one with the sword. Lovely model that one.
A lot of the Eldar models are from early 2nd ed. A large chunk of the Phoenix Lords, apart from 2, are from early/mid 2nd edition. Asurmen is from 1992 and I think just SLIGHTLY older than the Avatar model. That model is 29 years old...I think it's legit older than most of the playerbase these days.
Honestly, I think we could use a new Primaris Lieutenant. It's been forever since we got a nice new one.
I feel like including the Storm Speeder on this list goes against what this is supposed to be. It's blocky, strange looking and an utter disappointment yes, but the model doesn't need a refresh. It's plastic, looks new and - as far as I know - is a fairly decent kit.
i have one and for what its worth you dont need to magnetize it once the paint is on it the turret and front gun hold in place quite well just from tension
Centurions are far more ugly than anything in the space marine range.
Well i guess you should make your own list then
I love those big chonkers. From all the "lore" about anti-gravity "IRL" that I've heard/read: you don't need to be aerodynamic if you're literally displacing space in front of you.
the wide stance was most probably to make the casting process easier - remember many of these models are so old they initially been spun-cast out of pewter
"There must be a method to this madness." *Queue South Park banking scene where they cut of a chickens head and let its body decide what to do*
Noise marines absolutely need a refresh before khorne berserkers, the fact that they never even had a proper kit and are now reduced to a finecast upgrade sprue that is incompatible with the new chaos marine sculpt puts them ahead of even aspect warriors in my eyes. Sonic blasters also have a very unique design, so unlike berserkers they are incredibly difficult to source suitable bits for. The best you can really do for them is picking up the kakophoni from forge world, but even then that will only get you the basic loadout, no doom siren or blastmaster. Slaanesh has finally received updates in AoS to bring them up to being on par with the other chaos gods, so it would be nice to see it in 40k as well. Also the new plastic kit that needs a redesign imo is repentia, I've said it before and I'll say it again, the gym clothes do not look good or match the lore. I generally don't mind if their focus was for them to be less sexy, but they could have done it without completely removing the torn robes and instead just make them less revealing and increase the self-flagellation, keeping them lore friendly. Also daemonettes could do with a refresh, they don't look terrible, but they look way too static for an army that is meant to be all about speed. Also my theory for older model's wide gait is that having that stance made them easier to attach to slotta tabs.
I can't really remember what the new repentia look like, but one could simply give them fully covering plain robes for a lore friendly look that distances itself from the old wank bait look, I think.
No one cares about Khorne. It is just boring: go forward, die from enemy shooting, try to smash face. Noise marines are much more interesting. They must have their rock band (like old orks band), their psykers, their different guns, heads, etc. Please make some characters, not only Lucius. Where is Edalon?
This didn’t age well.
@@Dragonage2ftw yeah lol, I still stand by my points though, noise marines deserved it more than berserkers, of which the new ones don't even look that good. EC do seem to at least be getting a lot of support in heresy though, they got new lucius, new tartaros and mk 6 praetors alongside the upgrades that every other legion is getting. Also it does put EC in a better running for being a 10th edition launch faction.
The upgrade sprew fits on the new bodies just fine, the problem is that it's friggin finecast and finecast is just awful to work with.
3:10 I CAN FINALLY SAY I'M AS GOOD AS EAVY METAL TEAM!!!
the primaris landspeeder ain't going anywhere unless it's sales completely tank
I love the model, I want one
Yeah... And I personally kind of like it. Chances are I'm not alone... So likely in fifteen to twenty years it could happen...?
* Facepalms directly into the Warp *
That's right. You know what to do, vote with your wallet!
Meh, looks acceptable. At least It does not look like it was taken from Mario Kart, like the ATV
I think they should remake an inquisitor karamazov. I can't imagine how epic it would be.
Holding off building my World Eaters till we get updated Berserkers! Come on GW, give them the Death Guard/Thousand Sons treatment and build them out into a proper army! Demon Primarch Angron and dedicated models for Red Butcher terminators would be dope!
You have to wish that GW makes them as death guard, not thousand sons.
Death guard has multiple options in all the slot that ARE Death Guard, while Thousand Sons is like: Tzeentch daemon codex with diet heretic astartes and some AoS handmedown.
I would like to see all the 4 chaos god represented by their legion but if it happens they would be on the same level as Thousand sons and not Death Guard, to then be forgotten by Gw
@@eneaceribelli8023 this makes me so salty.
I love TS and really dislike the DG aesthetic, it bothers me to see the DG getting SO MUCH LOVE while the TS don't even have librarian dreadnoughts.
@@pinoarias8601 Well, tastes are subjective, but yeah, Death Guard got a lot of love while Thousand Sons were left in the dust (pun intended).
But we also have to consider that Death Guard got all this support due to being the faction into the starter sets of 8th, giving GW interest to expand their range and publishing them as one of the first codexes released in 9th.
Also they are kinda noob friendly and the army is really forgiving for mistakes, while thousand sons are more complicate to use properly. However it doesn't justify using demons and tzaangors to buff the unit counts inside the book.
Man, I'm not even mad that we get demons and aos handmedowns, but TS need so much love.
Lib dreds, warpfire predators, kastelan maniples (fw will never release its grip the castellax) and MORE disciplines with their respective models representing each cult would be cool.
@@eneaceribelli8023 I really need to see a Psychic 1KSons dread/helbrute.
Good list.
I'd add to this list
chaos defilers
Noise mariens
and all tau tanks. We need more better tau tanks.
GW doesn't care about Noise Marines. Why would anyone need new Noise Marine models when the 20 year old finecast upgrade sprue is perfectly compatible with the 2020 Chaos Space Marines? Yes that is legit what GW wrote in an article last year...
What's wrong with Tau tanks???
@@pinoarias8601 Mostly the way model is built, it's just three large junks and couple smaller bits. Refreshing that kit could also bring some new tanks too
technically it wouldn’t be refreshing noise marines because they literally don’t have an official model.
before even watching
KHORNE BESERKERS AND POSSESSED
christ those models look bad now, and berserkers are tiny compared to all the other SM type models its actually comical
the especially painfull thing about both is that there are other models which could so easily be adapted to match them (blood warriors from AoS and things like the gal vorbak from 30k) but are either more expensive or require buying multiple kits to kit bash them
just let me buy some cool looking berserkers again
Jes Goodwin (I think?) even said they want to redo the Possessed in the style of the Greater Possessed. They just... haven't yet, and I don't know why.
New berserkers would be great (a codex for the legion of Khorne would be great too)
im fine with new beserkers not being a thing because it keeps my hope alive that Word Eaters will join the 1k sons and Death Guard as their own faction for Khorne with a completely new range of models
@@-rayzer--wolf-6474 i actually really dislike that they are seperating the different chaos chapters into entirely different factions
my favorite way to run chaos is undivided, and every time they put one of the chapters into their own faction it cuts down the number of ways to run "CSM" as a whole
like why do blight drones have to be BLIGHT drones, why cant they just be a CSM model and then i get to choose
thats the way SM do it, all of their chapters just pull from the larger pool of "space marine" units and then have a handfull of chapter specific ones but they are still just "space marine" subfactions and not a seperate army
why cant CSM do the same instead of every chapter being seperated out into completly seperate armies
Once upon a time Khorne Berserkers were some of the best looking models.
Hate to add extra Tyranid to the list (but it kina shows state of the Army).
The most wanted and powerful unit of Tyranids in the Kill Team, Lictor - 2008 Fine Cast
Not the ideal solution, but a pack of Warriors, leftover Venomthrope heads and Carnifex Scything Talons make for some pretty convincing Lictors. You can even build Deathleaper off a Broodlord with the same method, you just need to add some greenstuff tentacles to the Broodlords head instead.
As a somewhat new hobbyists I didn’t realise some of the eldar minis were as old as me but I love the aesthetic of them so much I didn’t care and still got them but would love to see some Updates Especially the guardians they’re great but they could be better
Bit of advice: using punctuation helps people to read what you are saying. It also helps to get your point across better, and allows for people to naturally pause between statements, such as here, where I am using commas.
Warpspiders are the oldest unit kit in the entire game. They have never changed (aside from being cast in resin) since they were first released in the early/mid-90s.
All the other old aspects need an update, including the dire avengers, who have already been plastic for about 15 years.
@@lazerhosen wow I really don’t care what my Punctuation as like an CZcams comment
@@B.A_nana Are you not a native English speaker?
I get the whole "anonymous on the internet so who cares if I look stupid", but it makes you look stupid. Just saying. Like 1st grade reading level stupid.
Totally excusable if English is not your first language. If not, it's willful ignorance, which is the worst kind of ignorance, and you should be ashamed.
If you're trying to make statements that have a clear point, punctuation helps to get the point across.
@@lazerhosen not gonna read the whole thing you wasted your time :)

Khorne berzerkers AND Thousand Sons (maybe emperor children but they aren't a real kit) needs the attention Death Guard got.
Seriously, Thousand sons is like 4 marines kits with a boatload of daemons and AoS handmedown (they still look great, but they cannot be compared to the death guard)
I love how the Imperium uses flying boxes because it fits them so well. Why work with the air to pass gently through it when you can beat it to death!
I actually think the Eldar Guardians look amazing and are one of the coolest troops in the game... as long as they're built with helmets.
I agree they should update their stances though and swap out the bare heads with some less goofy options.
The Guardians are behind the Warlocks, Rangers, most aspect warriors, and phoenix lords in the "for the love of god update this" department.
The shuriken catapaults could also be shrunk down a bit. They're just a tad too big, IMO.
The style is good though. Just need new poses, sharper details, and less ghastly heads.
I agree. I actually just bought a box for killteam, only cause I thought they looked so cool. Yeah, they’re old as shit, but with the helmet I think they’re badass and I’m not normally interested in elves.
I modded some of my storm guardians into a running pose using dark eldar legs.
i personally think the air speeder looks nice, but to each his own
I love it. Part of the reason I decided to start collection Space Marines. Personally I'm a fan of the chunky flying shoebox aesthetic.
When you said long fang scouts all I could imagine were teams of scouts shouting surprise while toting giant ominously glowing plasma cannons with an eldar just facepalming it.
...I was thinking Long Fangs are old Space Wolves who do devastator squad things. Wolf Scouts are Space Wolf Scouts, hence being called Wolf Scouts.
World Eaters/Khorne and Emperor's Children/Slaanesh both need the same treatment that the Thousand Sons/Death Guard got. Full Refresh and separate codecies.
I also wish Thousand Sons got the treatment of Death Guard.
Because if GW introduces emperor children and world eaters as separate factions You want the support Death Guard got: lots of options in all the army slots that feels like Death Guard, and not being supported similarly to the Thousand Sons were, since the faction is: tzeentch demons featuring 3 heretic marines kit and some AoS models (tzaangors are nice but I think they don't really fit into 40k).
@@eneaceribelli8023 You are right- Death Guard got a lot more than Thousand Sons and continue to get more and more love from GW as time goes on. Whenever TS gets their codex update, I hope that they get a few more goodies similar to Death Guard- a faction specific vehicle or two, and maybe some more unique HQ units. I am ok with the Tzeentch Daemons filling out a lot of the roster because it fits in with the Psyker/Summoning theme of the army... but yeah, they need a little more ummph to put them where they should be. If World Eaters and Emperor's Children get that same amount of love- complete with Angron and Fulgrim models in sweet-sweet plastic- I would be pretty content with where Chaos stands.
But what about noisemarines?
I'm sure releasing new Catachan models was a social experiment to see if the customer base is guilible enough to start buying 10 year old kits again and I'm pretty sure it's working.
Also, the plastic scouts were a terrible downgrade compared to the old metal ones. Don't hold your breathe for a refresh, just get the old sculpts.
Shooty and spiky gaunts in one box? No thank you, imagine the price hike...
i swear they were origionally in one box
i got 1 pack of gaunts way back in 3rd edition when the models were still new and i got both in the one box
idk if it was a special deal or they seperate them later
@@gregsmw ya the first box of gaunts was 8 termagants and 8 hormagaunts. Plus 3 ripper swarms. Was like that for a few years.
If GW cared about scouts they wouldn’t put them in Elite slot
Useful as troops, trash as elites. People are already taking multople detachments to maximise their elite slots, how are they supposed to find room for some infiltrators that dont have ob-sec?
I don't mind them actually being in the Elite slot since a Space marine army don't use Scouts as their battleline troopers. The issue here is the removal of Obsec, which I honestly wonder why that cannot be given as a specific ability to Scouts. On the other hand it could also be GWs diabolical plan of removing firstborns in favour of Primaris.
Let me fix that for you: If GW cared about *firstborn space marines
They do care about firstborns, just not the average firstborn since most Primaris are direct replacement. The only firstborn that will probably survive forever are Terminators (the models are way too iconic to ever be squatted) and the Rhino (since every freaking tank in the Imperium is a Rhino with additional stuff).
@@wakito64 Theory: in the next 10-15 years GW will phase out all firstborn. Theory: Rhino will only survive for Sororitas and Chaos. Regular power armor has always been more iconic than the ugly, anatomically incorrect tactical dreadnought armor (I would argue that beaky marines are more iconic), most (regular) terminators have been underperforming since 3rd edition (points-to-efficiency), and terminators have already been outclassed by aggressors and bladeguard by miles.
That isn't to say they won't continue to support the models with rules, but they're on the way out, the writing is on the wall.
Ever seen the Allies the T’au have? They look worse than the Eldar guardians.
I main Tau and disagree with this. Most of the Eldar sculpts are gross, I just thank God that I don't have to look at them on a daily basis.
@@Psycho-Babble idk man, vespids are fucked hard
@@JohnathanJWells I agree they look like shit, I still believe that the Eldar deserve more attention. It's their main base troops. They are awful.
@@Psycho-Babble I do agree with that
@@Psycho-Babble it would be cool too see more of the Tau's incorporated species,
The have a lot of races in their lore, but only 3 are represented in game
3rd edition!? I've just wrapped up some 2nd ed Warp Spiders, GW plz :'(
3:31 “No other faction has it where there are two distinct ways to collect.”
*Angry Gasmask Noises*
It's kind of Funny because back in the day the Imperial Guard offered a metric fuckton of ways to collect since all the famous regiments had their own boxes. Mordian, Tallarn, Vallhallen, Vostroyen etc. complete with options for heavy weapon teams and command squads for MOST of them (not all, the Praetorians didn't get a HW team IIRC).
Man, I'd love an Eldar army. "They are Elves, and they are in space" is a strong enough pitch for me, and I think their vehicles are pretty fantastic. I have a soft spot for the HQ options even though they're tiny and plain by modern 40K standards. I love the goofy but implacable look of the Wraith units, and the aesthetic of gem stones everywhere. And building Eldar terrain is a fun challenge where you get to play with lots of interesting curves and angles, and if you mess up you can just make it ruined and overgrown, like all Eldar society.
But oh boy, those infantry. Even the good ones are bad. And the bad ones are terrible. Hear me, Games Workshop: I could be giving you thousands of dollars right now and the fact that I am not is entirely your fault.
I've long advocated exactly that idea for Servitors. Many of the books over the years have given many imperial armies access to servitor units in some form, but no one wants the shitty models they still make. I wouldn't even buy recasts of them.
honestly almost anything not spacemarine related could need an upgrade
I want Bjorn to get a revamp, its hilarious that the Primarchs best friend and HQ turned dreadnought is a venerable dreadnought, hes so small and dinky and it maddens me
That Servitor idea you hatched, I screamed “absolutely” out loud at home 😂 seriously though... GW. Hear hear
As an AOS player, I could write an entire list like this with just Skaven models.
Hey J, I was new to the hobby in January and have recently found your channel, I love it! Thank you for all you do, truly inspiring to a noob! Watching this one back from just before I started the hobby it's interesting how many models you suggest had a revamp in 2022 already (or have been teased!) Keep up the good work 🐻🙂
I think their should be more legion of the damned models or at least a revamp, also give dark angels some primaris units with like robes and stuff because these days there really isnt much deferent between them and other space marine units. Just my opinion do :)
DA have always been just "vanilla but with more sword and wing iconography, robes, and feathers on death/ravenwing" I don't know why you would expect more. Their rules are even vanilla+ with only a few units slightly off-codex-astartes.
If they make new Catachans I'll start a guard army.
I made the same deal with myself if they ever come out with updated steel Legion
Nice to see which models on this list have had refreshes since you made this video
Dante needs an update badly
There is a torso, death mask, jump pack, and axe identical to his in the sanguinary guard box.
Great list. I like the storm speeder. I can see why you dont like it if you're equating it with an airplane. I just see it as a hover car. Maybe they need to remove those tiny wings so people dont confuse it as a plane?
Gaunts and genestealers actually look decent imo. The one model that NEEDS a revamp is a red terror. I mean, you can build tyranid prime from warrior box. Why you cant do the same for red terror and ravener box?
Tyranid Prime isn't a special character... but the Swarmlord can be made from Hive Tyrant, Old One Eye can be made from Carnifex, so I don't know why the Ravener box (which isn't that bad) was't designed to make the Red Terror.
What does need a new kit, is the Lictor/Deathleaper.
@@ArynCrinn I used prime/warrior analogy cuz raveners are... Just fast attack warriors. But yeah, your argumets alsop make sense.
I think you absolutely have the right idea, but I'd also suggest the Tau ethereals and the vespid stingwings. All are dingy, nameless, pewter and/or finecast.
There's a plastic Servitor in the "Combat Arena" board game (the same mini was also included in the Blackstone Fortress Escalation expansion).
Also, you forgot the baby Chaos Bikers.
I'd even add things like Vespid or Kroot Carnivores to the list.
Well, given an extra four weeks and we're getting new Deffkoptas, at fething last!?!?!?!
Dark Angels received some nice attention recently, they're hot stuff with a great range of models. Some thought the Lion might awake, but the very least I thought they would update the Grandmaster AZRAEL, his ancient miniature is such a tiny joke!
Ministorum priests / missionaries are still METAL and the new sisters codex all but tells players outright to use the Blackstone Fortress characters instead. The missionary is actually quite nice in a retro way, but the preacher looks like a blobfish. Those guys need a refresh, and soon.
I quite liked the Uriah Jacobs model as far as the old models went. Shame they retired that one but not others
Try using the new redemptionists kit from Necromunda. They’d make some great priests!
@@rikokrates6298 I used the old cawdor models for dark Hersey acolytes. I also think the new models could make good Empire Bright Wizards for Fantasy or Aos
GW should make servoskulls a new model, that works similarly to tau drones. where they can come with certain units, and give some stuff.... or like armorium cherubs, and let them give ammor and stuff.
I use a couple of the servitor models in my cyberpunk TTGs as crazies and bad guys and they fit really well
“Possible to build your army exactly how you want.” Then where the hell are my squats!?
You did something right because the deffcopta has been revealed for orcs.
Aren't Vanguard SM the new scouts? Even in lore I thought that now, the neophytes are given the the Vanguard detachement to hone their skills before becoming full intercessors.
I've been into this hobby since the year 2000. Back then the plastic Khorne Berzerkers were awesome and I still have some that I bought over 20 years ago... But compared to contemporary models, they have definately seen better days!
Some old 40k characters like, Pedro Kantor, needs a refresh…
Or dante.
Khorne bezerkers may be from 1998 jay but dante is from 1995.
I wonder when 40k characters will go the way of AoS characters: all dead. AoS lost a ton of character (no pun intended) killing off every named model.
I cant really decide if i would like to see a new Gary Kight Strike Squad. They dont really look like Badass elite SpaceMarine but they are kinda cute^^
I dont know what i prefere :D
I never really understood putting a space marine in a plane or tank anyway. That seems like a good job for a well trained squishy, not some massive armor wielding giants bred for frontline warfare. Drop ships, bikes, or even cannons make the most sense. Drop pods would be my go to for fast deployment of massive g force tolerant super soldiers behind enemy lines. They are, in fact, *marines in space*
There is no way that the stormspeeder gets changed. It came out last year.
Would really love to see Emperor's Children getting their new several minis like DG and TS
I was going to object to the Scouts "looking old" since they're only 15 years or so... but then I realised they're basically identical in design to the metal scouts (but with mild adjustments for the sprues etc) that are another 15 years or so in age. In terms of age I think the Berserkers are about three-four months older than the Catachans.
As for Warlocks, yes, but at least the current Farseer is better than the 3rd ed one waving his pistol and singing spear about....
6:40
On the concept of servitors, i actually had an idea for a mechanicus unit where its basically a massive swarm of servo skulls with a bunch of dinky pistol weapons.
Flying, fast, can fire a ton of shots, but does poor overall damage and ap.
But in melee range they are monsters. Pulling apart some poor chaos guardsman with hundreds of little claws.
I also had another idea for a companion unit called the "servo-hive" but i dont know what it would be useful for.
I'm agree 100% I hope for new Catachan platic models PLS GW PLS, new scouts and new Tyranide models wating for all of it.
Edit: I think when the new Edler Codex comes we see new Infantry models for sure I think.
It’s funny, he made this like right before the new Deffkoptas
but you know what doesnt need a refresh, OUR PATREON
Those are techniqually roll cages on the storm speeder. I think its supposed to help keep the front vents from getting smashed into quite so hard.
Long fangs are space wolf devastators. Blood claws are the first step to being a space wolf. Then after many years they become a Grey hunters. And even longer after that, they can become Long Fangs. Long fangs are considered some of the oldest members of the chapter. Some do become scouts, depending on how they want to battle
DefKoptas got their refresh! Woooh! You called it!
I collect both Catachan and Cadian I do agree that the Catachans need an update and I am happy that the Cadaians finally got a bit of an upgrade with the new heads and weapons. Also got some Valhallan's, Gaunt's Ghosts ( Old and New), and want to do a DKoK as well, I know a few Guard players that wish they would bring back some of the old stuff or release some of the regiments that are in the Codex but you would need to buy like four different things to kitbash into one guy, which makes kitbashing to get Acid Dogs or Miasman redcowls way to expensive.
You said that GW hadn't released the plastic deffkopta since the Assault on Black Reach box, but it was resealed in both a paint and play ork kit, alongside a couple of Nobz, a Big Shoota boy, some scatter terrain and the Warboss from the AOBR kit.
They were also rereleased in the Battle for Vedros kit, which was another repackage of similar models from AOBR, plus some additional kits.
Funny how the first two results have just been refreshed
Oh my gosh i couldnt agree more. To add to servetors maybe make them like combat variants that act like cultist? I liked the adage for characters i would update Dante, Azrael, Guilliman (xenos updates are too apparent so i went SM)
As a guard guy i can safey say that if they made a limited edition plastic multipose kit of the 2nd edition stormies and put the price at 'your left kidney' there would soon be be a massive pile of human kidneys at Games Workshop headquarters.
Yep Khorne Berskers, Eldar and Genestealers are pretty damn desperate now. I'd love to do an Eldar army but just won't in their current iteration
Yeah, servitors would make sense, Imperium wide. Hell, even Asrartes have trained against servitors even in the Heresy.
the whole phobos primaris marine range is is a refresh for the scouts.
*Blood Claws are SW scouts. Can’t think of a unit less likely to get updated than scouts. Unusable in 9th, they only work as Firstborn both in rules and lore, and Infiltrators are as close to Primaris scouts as we’re gonna get
If you think the current plastic genestealers are bad for keeping their balance then you should try the first edition lead models with a lunging pose.
At 4:31 you mention long fangs as scouts for space wolves. They are actually space wolves devastators. I think you meant to say blood claws who are similar to scouts until 8th edition
I agree about most of them, but that ork deffkopta is still super cool to me!
Tyranid collector here. The Guants/Gants still hold up pretty well for me, I'd rather see the fine cast stuff updated first. The Biovore and Red Terror are by far the worst. Followed by Deathleaper & Lictor, then the Spore Mines. I quite like the Pyrovore, but can see the benefits of doing a Pyrovore/Biovore combined plastic kit.
Hell ya, a new Lictor with fun Kill Team rules!
I agree with you for the most part, but I think the spore mines look just fine
The old landspeeder is a massive nightmare to work with, and is in fact still being sold.
When the "new" World Eaters Codex drops, I think that the Khornserkers Will have an amazing update.
I hope so.
Some time this year maybe...?
Considering the fact that you like the look of Tyranids, I don't see many videos of them other than the genestealer cult.
I would love to see you paint up an army, or a least a few of the models, as there really isn't many Tyranid videos out there.
The Farseer and Warlocks are beautiful models ... just got to get them off the Finecast.
I'd love to see World Eaters get the Death Guard/ TSons treatment, updated Khorne Berserkers and a Daemon Angron model.
Honestly the Khorne Berserkers look fine to me. Wouldn't mind if they stayed the same until the end of 40k.
you know what? that would be poetic, i love it
SM Scouts already had a refresh with Necromunda Palanite Enforcers. They even have Primaris-like helmets. Unfortunately, due to point cost and being an Elite choice now, they pretty much never get fielded.
Eldar guardians are great... With Dark eldar heads lol. The only update they need would be a different head selection and arms.... Ok so you kind of have a point with the stance but I well. Also farseers and warlocks are still awesome, just metal. I'm shocked you didn't say warp spiders before either of those choices.
Totally agree with the top 2. I recently started Eldar by getting the start collecting box. That box is great but the guardians I bought to complement them look bad. And as for Khorne. I'd be tempted by a small force of Khorne. But the beserker models look terrible. I'm shocked they didn't get a refresh before Thousand Sons or Death Guard. Unfortunately though, the top 10 most needed models could be taken up by Eldar or Imperial Guard all on their own. Aspect Warriors and none Cadian/ Catachan units need reviving desperately. Btw, I also agree about Space Marine scouts. I think too much focus is on Space Marines but the focus is in the wrong places. We need updated Marines which don't look out of place next to the primaris. Sanguinary Guard and Scouts in particular.
would love an updated dante and sanguinor.
Amazing that almost everything in this list got an update actually
You forgot to mention that terrible “turret gunner” in the hammer strike… makes it even worse!
Brother tinitus? He's the best part of the flying shoebox! how dare you! ;p
I'ld like to add the Nightbringer!
40k models that needs a refresh:
THE ENTIRE F*CKING ELDAR RANGE
Yes
Yep. Luckily there is third party products delivering much better casts.
About time for primaries space marine refresh, with ultrasuperulimatealpha spaz marines.
The whole Eldar range is probably older than most younger players. The Falcon grave tank came out in 1997. I mean, it still looks great, but most of the range is that age or older and needs updating. Same with those Khorne Beserkers.
Noise marines should always be mentioned in discussions like this, having an army's troop choice be regulated to a resin upgrade sprew is the worst.
I hope that Horus heresy box set rumor is true I want it make a home brew chapter of space marines and I’m gonna use that box as the. Core and a few units outside that and some drop pods and air support.
Anything that is Citadel Shit Cast is in desperate need of a refresh. The Swooping Hawks picture in the Eldar codex shows off the famous Fine Cast droopy curved gun barrels. I have the Shit Cast Rangers, and I'm going to have to cut and resculpt the barrels with green stuff...
