So Idoneth: They come from the depth of the oceans obviously, but for raiding the land dwellers their Tidecasters summon the Ethersea, a phenomenon, where the air becomes spectral water in where they can swim with all their sea beasts.
So really a good guess you made.

I think that people see the Greek mythology influences and think of the Disney sanitized version of Greek mythology. Looking past the bright coat of paint though shows that it's closer to the real Greek mythology where Hercules was a man with serious anger problems and a "redemption" arc that involved killing anyone or anything that stood in his way

This is fun. AoS for me has been a nice breath of fresh air after the intense space marine fatigue GW has caused. This Black Templar release should have excited me but I knew something was up when my reaction was "really? more space marines?"

Okay so hear me out: Idoneth are the best Race in Age of Sigmar. Teclis made them, but whoopsie, he isn't perfect and they turned out not how he wanted them too. They grew pretty reclusive, he tried to kill them and they fled under the sea. Tyrion made Teclis chill down later. For the Idoneth it's better down where its wetter, but mainly because they hate experiencing strong emotions or feelings, because they have Super PTSD from their original souls being in Slaanesh's stomach after the end times until the Aelven Gods trapped Slaanesh and make he/she/it throw up all the Aelfsouls. Down under they realised that 99% of their children were born with only tiny souls that couldnt sustain life, so they were forced to ready for Soul Raids, get souls from the surface world to extend their Soulless children, the Namarti's, live into their 40s. The Full souled ones, martial Akhelians and magical Isharann have normal Aelven lifespans (very long).
Now the Idoneth are forced to go out and raid for souls, which they hate, because it forces them from leaving their nice, safe, cold, dark underwater strongholds. They are really good at it, but they dont like it. They figured that they ned beasts of burden and war mounts, but they couldnt really connect with the underwater monsters, so they had to resort to blinding and breaking the beasts with awful means. In order for the Idoneth to live underwater and for the Mounts to accompany them on their soul raids, the Idoneth came up with the Aethersea, which above ground manifests as a fog, that slows enemies thoughts and movements, allows the Seamonsters to breathe and swim, steals the survivors memories (because Idoneth love their secrecy) and underwater allows the Aelves to breathe, see and not get crushed to death, because they decided the homiest place for them is at the bottom of the Mariana trench in AoS.
They want to heal their curse so badly, the Isharann labour ceaselessly to find a solution. But they also need to survive with the stopgap measure of the soulraids. Idoneth are awesome.

I think the issue is that most of these big sigmar models are too busy and too big. Big busy mount with big busy hero awkwardly standing on, or big busy hero standing with busy minions and surrounded by busy superfluous surroundings.
Not saying old games workshop was better but they were simpler miniatures designed to be painted within a working week and gamed with.

Tbh I only discovered your channel fairly recently and I have to credit your positivity with me looking to get back into the hobby atm.
I actually stopped collecting back when they cut the Cadian squad in half but kept the price the same. I was still looking at the lore and going crazy trying to read as many stories about WFB in particular as I could as it's my favourite setting (yes more than 40k), just had some very out of date and stale models imo. I loved checking out WFB lore right up until they brought in AOS.
Honestly I was so sour that they dumped WFB that I wouldn't even look at AOS for a long time. When I did finally check them out I have to admit I found many of the models to be interesting and very nice overall. But the setting does nothing for me at all and didn't make me want to invest. But more power to anyone that does. This was just my experience with it.
I did hear recently that WFB may be making a comeback (please be true🙏).
Sorry for rambling. Overall just wanted to say thanks for your excellent tutorials and positivity that are helping me get back into the hobby 👍

You heard correct, its coming back via Warhammer: The Old World. Its keeping the same scale, square bases and is set several hundred years before the end times. Current rumours state that it'll become Forge Worlds flagship game as Horus Hersey becomes a mainline gw product alongside 40k/AoS/Middle earth

That would be a dream come true after all these years. Finally seeing or at least reading some lore about Cathay would be amazing.
I also think Araby would be a fantastic faction to look into. I saw a mod for Total War: Warhammer 2 that made Araby a playable faction and it's clear they could add a lot to the lore and models if they capitalised on them.

Lauka vai's biggest problem is its scale as u look at her, her hips are at the level of the shoulders of the lower half so your eyes are asking how can that be 1 body its clearly two but like you both said about the paint job. I would like an example of that model painted in one colour to add another perspective. On another note a way around not using baby skulls because of the unholy barbaric, darkness that may overcome such a person, is to use "shrunken heads " great video 👍👍

As a point of correction, the first model (Morathi) used to be the queen of the Dark Elves. Not the nicest people. I should also note that many of these models look like they were a hundred bucks or more American. So I guess GW has given up on the idea of the 'casual' player? Used to be that I could pick up a whole army for $250 bucks. Those were the days...

So far, I can't argue against the list, though the vampire lady...I wonder how hard it would be to model armour using green stuff to her lower half and match the style 🤔
From their Lore, I think the reason she's half and half though is to represent how they see themselves (the well presented top half) to the monsters they really are when they lust for blood.

Teclis is so pricey because you can only play 1 of him so you'll never buy another and he's probably the best wizard in the game. When he casts spells you can choose to either cast 4 spells that go off on 10, 2 spells on 12, or 1 spell on 12 that can't be unbound. You don't roll for the spells. He's in a faction that's all about magic so being a good spell caster makes him insane in his army. He also has a few abilities to buff his army in range. He's one of the best models in the game

Stormcast’s Stormy Dragon opens its mouth and makes a sad trombone noise (whomp whomp). Many of the recent undead models have a great sense of motion to them - the 3 ghosts on Arkhan’s base help balance the overall proportions and drive the main model forward; it would look much more plain without them
