    They should bring back Inquisitors like they were in 3rd ad 4th Edition with characterful Minis and the whole entourage. Also the old imperial priest/missionary minis from 2nd (?) Edition are still 10/10.

      I feel, like rogue trader would work for such team even better, only some inquistors would also take xenos, and rogue traders could take even more xeno races and have more narrative freedom. Inquisitors work great as a core of very varied army though. Knightly devoted Sororitas, fanatical lunatic priests, flagellants, crusaders, holy paladin demon slaying Grey Knights, unique teams supersoldier commnado Deathwatch, specialised indoctrinated forces of Scions (or hardened veteran stormtrooper/grenadiers), supervised Imperial Guard regiments, a**hole marines of Minotaurs chapters. Maybe even Sisters of Silence or mechanicus force if inquisitor is friendly with the cult.

    • @AzraelThanatos
      @AzraelThanatos Před 2 lety +1

      I used to use the Heroes of the Imperium list as an addition to Space Marines back with 3e...still use that book off and on because of the everything in the main rulebook part of it. Used a lot of the old Death Watch upgrade kit parts on them to make an affiliated group.
      Got the idea of an Inquisition force who managed a win against a chaos force, but the system was caught and trapped in a Warp storm for a couple thousand years, where they protected the Imperial world there for that period. Then the storm ended and they re-established contact as a strange, blended chapter of marines that descended from those stranded there for the duration of the storm

    • @Reaching8
      @Reaching8 Před rokem

      @@Willqer This is true, and they should just release a game called ‘40k classic’ on the old system with their old sculpts. At GW they have a bunch of scrapped classic do-over sculpts like proper jet bikes that could be tossed into a boxed game or something. A combo of RT and/or early 2e rules would be perfect for it.
      That being said, if you remember how force organization used to work on the old system, basically every ed from 2nd-5th suited this force better. The % of army ally rules were amazing for Imperial soup lists that Inquisitors or other agents would be involved in, and the 2 troops and an HQ era made it possible to run an Inquisitor and his retinue as your army.
      Still though, the complete lack of RPG and good campaign mechanics, let alone events, in the last several editions make this force so soulless. I guess you can have Eisenhorn stand around next to your Cadians?

  • @beardhammerwargaming
    @beardhammerwargaming Před 2 lety +37

    I kinda miss the old days, as it was possible to see who sculpted the miniature just by the looks.
    But I prefer the rendered miniatures of today as the whole setting is more coherent and the personal "touch" of the sculpter is portrayed in other ways.

Thought the storm bolter arm was as well, but interesting to see it was space wolves. Nice work on updating the paint job, I think the original looked good, standing the test of time if it was from the era. I think it would be interesting to do a like for like between my 30 year old paint jobs, and what I would do with the same model now.

    I would like to ask. I am trying to paint models and I am practicing. If I wanted to remove paint from my plastic models, what do I need and do to remove the paint from plastic models if I wanted to do in the future. The paints I use are acrylic Vellejo.

    You should try a pearl colored acrylic, basically just a metallic white.

    I have that inquisitor model somewhere about (with the original arms, badly cast and with missing detail as those arms are).

    Im not sure what the actual lore is behind power swords, but to me it *feels* like the blood on the sword should be boiling or burnt or something, or maybe blown clean off by the energy just leaving a red stain. The fresh opaque blood doesn't quite seem right tho.

    if you want to do proper metalic highlights dont mix white with silver, that dulls down the "metalic" aspect of the metalics which can make the model actually look darker
    you want to get a pearlescent paint of some type, hobby paints dont seem to have these but they are common enough in acrylics, essentially a metalic white
    you can then use that as your highlight/mixing colour and you dont lose any "metalic" shine

    What airbrush should I get for an apartment? Small, and quiet as possible.

    Where'd you get the mini colourwheel, please? I bought what was supposed to be a "pocket" one on amazon, but it's quite big.
